We know the outside world, well assuming it exists to be precise, through sensory perception, the problem is that you cannot prove that sense perception is even fundamentally reliable, what if our senses deceive us Descartes contended, or to put it another way, what if we are in something like the matrix. But even if that is the case, i.e. that reality is an illusion and our senses deceive us, we have to exist in the first place to be deceived thus "I think therefore I am".

Honestly, if you're that hung up on if you're real or not well-... I don't know what to tell you. Look at it this way roughly 107,602,707,791 people have been born into this world. Not a single one made it very far, a few of them did very important things in life things to be remembered for then again most of them did nothing but survive for some time then die. We live, then we die everything else is just a means to an end. Just things, things that don't matter much. Honestly most aren't remembered, and being remembered is pointless as eventually everyone ends at the same place. Laying awake at night, hoping, wondering, and praying that you exist is-... well pointless in my opinion. Does it really matter if you exist? What if you're simply a computer simulation or a thought in some higher being's imagination, will it devalue what you've done, the things you've said or the world around you?

The fact that you can think, or feel isn't enough o_o you want someone to tell you that because you think and feel you exist. Simply having a consciousnesses should confirm that for you. Do you really need me or anyone else to tell you, you exist cause you'll get so many mixed answers from people who like me just feel like ranting about nothing



Any idea exists. It's a real thing inside your mind. Just like love, anger and hate exist all of them are things that have no definite, shape form or area but are there.

If something's imaginary friends start taking a life of their own then they exist, not just in someone's mind.

On another note, I realized robots will never have a problem taking us over if we sit around thinking if we exist or not.

I can agree this way of thinking is dangerous, but hope is merely something we intelligent lifeforms created to counter the instinct of fear and despair. It´s by that definition I don´t believe in God, not through science Since (believers pls don´t read) in my way of thinking God is merely an image created by concepts and a few emotions, namely Order(concept), Love(emotion), Hope(concept,illusion) and many others in a collective interaction between humans. Oh shit, why did I get into the God stuff, pffuuhhahahaha....

Anyway, I´m completely fine thinking the way I am. Think of it as similar to Madara's belief that Will is not tangible while Power is. In my case Hope feels far less materialistic than anger and rationality. Takes too much time to properly explain myself, so I´m gonna stop there ^_^

B: to live at an inferior level or under adverse circumstances <the hungry existing from day to day>​

Now that we understand the word-... can we get past the guessing game? Existing is to do one of the above. Do we do one or more of those? We have real being, be it material or spiritual, we continue to be, and we have life and functions of vitality. So?

You aren't asking a question anymore. You are trying to convince everyone that nothing exists, that nothing is true. It is all interpretation. You can play that game all you want, reality will continue on without you.

I never said my body was a spiritual being and even if I would have it would prove nothing. The purpose of this thread, well any thread for that matter is to state and share opinions on certain topics. It isn't necessarily about finding a absolute answer I may have already found a answer and feel like hearing other peoples opinions.
