Using the 8th gate to put someone on a high level is the same as putting Hiruzen/Minato at the top because of RDS
But this is the usual scenario, where fans put people higher than the manga puts them at. And the 8 gates aren't pure taijutsu mate..

8 gates and are kind of different though. If used in the vs section Gai can use 8th gate right off the bat and finish the opponent. Whether he dies after the battle shouldn't matter since the absolute point of a match in vs section is for a character to defeat/kill the opponent. Ex: if Gai is going against zabuza and uses 8th gate, the moment zabuza dies Gai wins the match right there and then.
What was confirmed is that 8th Gated Gai pushed Juubidara the same way Hashirama pushed EMS Madara. Madara got a similar thrill, despite being eons stronger than his EMS self.

Dead people shouldn't be in the top 10, why? Because they are dead they have been bested, IMO, a top 10 would be a group of people whom have yet to be bested at their highest power level; That's using the claimed logic you say I'm using, when in truth all i was saying was the power Gai is currently using isn't a power that is dependable... Still Juudara get his ass kicked from Gai that did not have any external genetic enhancement or special abilities like advance blood line limit. If Juudara who was genetically enhanced by Kabuto with Hashiroids plus with Rinnegan plus almost all of the Biijus chakras & their reserves don't even want to take continuous direct hit from 8-gat Gai as it will be arguable fatal to him. On a 1v1 death battle Gai will rip him apart in his default form!!!!
True so its basically a tie in fights i would feel sorry for guy if he was fighting minato using the 8 th gate all minato would have to is teleport away and wait or obito.

Except that no one's going to let Minato be stationary and make the required hand seals for RDS, which is why it's only convenient when the enemy is subdued. 8 Gates is part of Gai's arsenal and is completely applicable in a battle. A tie implies both opponents killed each other which isn't the case.
