DBZ one of worst animes ever

So I used to watch DBZ when I was younger and thought it was the best thing ever(who on here didnt); but looking back I realize its probably one of the worst animes ever made. Horrible story line and no character development whatsoever.

I mean practically all the main villains (frieza, buu, etc..) had no motive and just wanted to destroy the world just because. No depth to any of the characters, no backstory on the villains everything is just black and white. Either evil or good.

In naruto and other animes countless episodes are spent developing the main characters and the villains and how they became the villain. I mean all of naruto is about how Sasuke grows into a villain. DBZ is just a very simplistic anime.Only thing going to DBZ was the action. Im just saiyin (lol see wat I did there)...

I'll only say that I dissagree with you and that DBZ was fantastic... I'll let the flamming to the others...

You do know that Masashi Kishimoto was heavily influenced by Dragon Ball right?
MUCH of Shonen Jump is also influenced by it.

Dragon Ball was in past just a series running in TV but nowadays it crosses my life very often!
When I am talking with friends and there is just a simple crazy thing, I connect it with Dragonball because everyone watched it and you directly understand what was meant. It's like stereotypes in some situation, and I would be very sad if those moments never happened in my life if DBZ never existed.
Everything else was already said.

Yes I know it influenced Naruto but it is a highly overrated anime. Kishi added an actual plot to his series and his fights involve strategy not just raw power vs raw power

Actually everything he said is true except for dbz being the worst I've seen worse. You are right OP DBZ doesn't have much of a story its mainly just fighting .

Yea there are probably a whole lot worse stuff out there with the vast amount of animes being made, ive seen some pretty bad ones, but for being as popular as it is it is definitely overrated

man you dont know what your talking about....DBZ is a MASTERPIECE!!!!! if DBZ hadnt existed Naruto would probably be crap, every mainstream anime/manga at the present have a backbone which made them come to be what they are now... DBZ is that BACKBONE!!!! without the classics anime/manga right now would be nothing, so show some respect... and for your info, there are side stories on the histories of some characters and how each and one of them came to be. look it up, watch them and GET OWNED BY THE CLASSICS

The only reason that you think that is probably because the lot of us have overused dbz too much, as much as an anime can be overused, and now you find it boring. Over our lifes we have watched it and talked about it for countless of times that now it could be boring to some people... I guess i can understand that..
But still Dbz king of all anime to most of us!!

you will never change the fact that DBZ is one of the best animes in the world

but thats what dbz is
naruto needs all of this plot

imagine naruto characters without backgroundstory
who the fu*k would care what happened to sasuke, itachi, naruto etc.

in db you dont need that because its not that complicated story

lets take tupac
after tupac died there were alot of better rappers than him
but does it make tupac bs now?
and i personally think that eminem is a better rapper than tupac
still it wont change the fact that tupac is a legend

the same with dbz
maybe naruto is better
but dbz is legend

i think dbz is the best anime ever. the action, the characters and just watching it is fun and enjoyable. sure the there wasn't much character development, but i think the story was pretty good and unique (no where near being as good as some other stories though).

The plot of DBZ is a Saiyan boy coming to Earth and having to reembark his past; Freiza, Raditz, etc. After the Freiza Saga though it became less nostalgic (but still great) because Akira wanted it to end there but it was in POPULAR DEMAND.
