Databook is full of hyperbole?

The Yata mirror is stated to make any attack meaningless. That means it essentially negates all hype, making it a tier above in terms of hype. Coupled with the fact that it is a spiritual weapon of mythological origins compared to simple jutsus and man-made tools, make the Yata mirror's hype even more exemplary.

No, that's just you believing that Yata Mirror is more true than the rest. Indra was stated in the most recent databook that he could break any barrier (Yata is included in this category) and he was a descendant from a God. Wouldn't that make his hype more exemplary than Yata's?

We don't even know Yata's origins which means that the author felt that it wasn't that important in the first place. If it truly was a shield that can protect the user from any conceivable attack and also cover the user's body at all angles, then why did no one feel the need to search for it? If Kaguya, Madara, or Obito had such a tool, then they would literally be invincible, yet to them it seems trivial compared to the powers of the Juubi.

Black Zetsu had knowledge of it, most likely before Itachi obtained it, so why didn't he make an effort to get it for Kaguya? I'm sure Orochimaru had knowledge of Yata but instead was more impressed by Totsuka.

Also humans have shown to perform astral and spiritual jutsu; so for all we know, Yata Mirror could have been man-made.

How debates around these work

>see a statement thats obvious hyperbole
>decide whether the statement works in favour of your favorite character
>accept that statement as being above everything else
>disregard all statements that contradict the previous one

I didn't chose to give the Yata mirror the hype it has. Blame Kishi. He literally described this shield as being infallible and hype-negating.

It's not even Itachi's most potent ability, so it wouldn't change much if he didn't have it.

But then how do you explain the other databook contradictions....such as

-Kabutowari being able to break through any defense

-Madara's Susanoo being able to smash anything in the universe

-There being no defense against Kamui

-Indra having the strength to destroy any barrier

If all of these are true, then that's a paradox, because you can't have something that can break through anything yet there also be something that can block anything.

So yes, the databook and manga is full of hyperbole.
Those are no limit fallacies and it is up to the author to decide which is stronger. But you can use logic to tell which is stronger like the first three you mentioned will not work because they don't affect non physical things (spiritual things)

Yes it is full of hyperboles. Some can't get it in their heads.

Full of NO LIMIT FALLACIES ? Yes it is which creates paradoxes. But hyperbole no.

>sees hyperble in databook and manga
>uses it in debates and says it's true
>deny other manga facts because they can't accept it

prime example is manga saying Jiraiya beats Itachi even with help. ppl still deny this :leaf:

im guessing that mist sword that can shatter all defenses breaks yata mirror

lol, the hyperbole takes all logic out of things, that's why you should accept the fact that it's a hyperbole and not true
how did itachi even equip the weapons on his susanoo, lol?

i guess since yata and totsuke is "bound to itachi's spirit" nagato could take them away by reaching into itachi's soul

Bold is how you can easily tell who can apply critical thinking and in depth analysis of multiple points of view in a manga, and who reads for the pretty pictures.

How would you know that? We have no idea whether or not these would be able to break Yata Mirror nor if Yata Mirror could block them.

Kamui is literally just bending space-time. I don't see how it's even possible to counter that.

Secondly, it says Yata Mirror blocks "attacks". What is defined as an attack? Can Yata Mirror determine what is and is not an attack? Is drowning in the middle of an ocean an attack or running out of oxygen?

This has all been covered. I'm not repeating myself.

Repeat what? All you did was say how Yata has more hype and that it's a higher caliber than Hagoromo's tools. That's just speculation and bias.

We don't even know whether the hype behind Yata is true or not but you already assume it is.

As Itachi has the ability to let people pass through Yata at will, he likely has direct control. That or the mirror has its own form of sentience, which is not unheard of, as demonstrated by Samehada.

Indra better than yata? Not likely as even the Juubi isn't a literal God, and Yata already outclasses Hagoromo's tools.

Yata is from the spirit world. It is a spirit weapon. Done.

Why didn't Black Zetsu do a lot of things? Who knows. Ask Kishi.

No shinobi has ever performed spiritual jutsus. They have used Yin and Yang, and they have summoned spirits, but none hold direct control over spiritual forces in any form.

Well if Itachi has direct control then Yata Mirror's capabilities mirrors his. If he can't react to it or if he doesn't see it, then he won't be able to block it.

I didn't chose to give the Yata mirror the hype it has.

The same absolute hype has been given to others by kishimoto himself but of course those are meaningless because itachi isn't involved right?

Also do tell why Itachi didn't use yata mirror to "negate" chibaku tensei since yata makes "eeevvverthinggggg meaningless", but he had to resort to naruto and bee's help

Blame Kishi. He literally described this shield as being infallible and hype-negating.

Again parroting the same thing.

"Statements about yata is valid while others' aren't", Kishi said this now did he?

No he didn't, you people keep pulling things out of your ass "yata is bound to itachi's spirit", "yata and totsuka predate and surpass hagoromo".

If anything, all that came in the manga and databook after Itachi died overrides all said about him because kishi has done this before.

>Hiruzen stops coffin in part one
>Part two overrides it by saying the coffin failed on its own because of reaper seal interference

I really don't know how to explain this any more simply. I'm sorry.

Please tell me what "makes all attacks lose their meaning" means to you.

you can accept the manga fact that totsuka and yata are unbeatable, but can't accept the fact that jiraiya beats itachi?

People need to distinguish between facts and "hyperbole" in the DB. For example, Hebi Sasuke was said to have "god-like" speed, yet there are plenty of characters faster than him. The DB comment was basically saying that he was fast. Nothing more. Nothing less. The DB has many such examples. Also, the manga takes precedence over the DB. So, if the manga and DB contradict each other, we should go by what we saw in the manga.

I asked you a simple question why itachi didn't use yata to negate nagato's jutsu- chibaku tensei

And where did you get all that from, your head?

Again, you're assuming Yata's hype is true which coincides with assuming that it is of higher caliber than Hagoromo's tools.

Secondly, we have no idea of what Yata's origins are. If a jutsu like edo tensei exists, then why can't someone enchant a shield with spiritual properties?

@Bold: Um. Dan Kato also used spiritual jutsu. So you're wrong about that.

Wording regarding how strong abilities are or how powerful defenses are always going to create the illusion of hyperbole. The point is to understand the potency of said abilities, not whether or not they are truly 'impenetrable' or can 'destroy anything'.

The only things majorly wrong with the databooks in my opinion are the timeline issue. Having different characters graduating from the academy at different times makes for confusing numbers. Some people were convinced Obito was 3 years older than Kakashi simply to have them graduate at the same time. It was unneeded over complication, like power levels in DBZ after a certain point.

Again. Critical thinking. I'm not going to waste my time explaining how stupid your belief is. Maybe another time, in another thread.

Yes. Correct. The Databook is supplementary. It gives us the information the manga doesn't. So logically the Databook is canon until proven false in the manga.

*Believes everything the databook says about Totsuka blade and Yata mirror*

*Thinks Temari being a universe buster among other things in the Databook are just hyperbole*

I'm sorry. Has Temari's Fuuton blown away the universe? No? Does it have similar hype in the Manga? No? Looks like it's debunked.

Has Yata repelled every attack ever sent at it, as the Databook states? Yes? Has it received similar hype in the contexts of the manga (by the being who knows the entire history of shinobi, no less) Yes? Hmm. Interesting.

I'm done here. It's posts like Wilds' that have destroyed all hope at debating in this forum. This is not worth my time at 1:00am.
