Description: Shinatobe is a female raptor capable of human speech with a size roughly equal to that of Sasuke's Hawk, allowing the summoner to ride atop of her. Shinatobe is a specialist of the wind element, being capable of using all wind techniques the user knows up to and including S-Rank by merely flapping her wings or releasing them from her beak. Shinatobe is also capable of cladding her entire body, or simply parts of it in razor sharp wind chakra, capable of cutting her target as well as defending her from incoming techniques. The armor has a power equal to that of an A-Rank wind technique and activation counts towards one of the summoner's three moves per turn.

Note: Must have signed the Raptor contract to summon Shinatobe.
Note: Shinatobe can only be summoned once per battle.
Note: Shinatobe remains on the field for four turns.

General Description of the Animal in Real Life

This is merely to show it is a successful animal.

Raptors are not an actual bird, rather, the term Raptor is used to describe Birds of Prey (e.g. An eagle, hawk, falcon or owl) The actual animal that is tied to this contract is a recently found hybrid bird of prey. It is a hybrid between a Harris Hawk and Golden Eagle, effectively making it the first bird of prey that is cross-species. This special bird has yet to be truly named, simply being labeled as the Harris Hawk X Golden Eagle Hybrid. Other names my be used such as Harris Eagle, or Golden Harris Hawk, etc. For this reason with the lack of an official name, I have decided to use the term "Raptor" in it's place as it relates to both species. (NOTE – This is in no way to be able to patent all birds of prey, only this new cross-species hybrid.)

Due to being a hybrid between two different species, this new animal has effectively earned it's own unique species, and is therefore not related to the others. The case is fundamentally the same with Ligers and Tiglons and even Mules. A Harris Hawk's genus is Parabuteo. A Golden Eagle's genus is Aquila. The fact that they both are different make this animal have a new unique genus.

These Raptors share traits from both Harris Hawks and Golden Eagles. The birds plumage colors are much like a Harris Hawk but much more dense like an Eagle. One of the benefits for this is that cold weather is no issue at all for them. This bird has slightly longer feathers down the leg, with the feathering looking much more like a Golden Eagle's, down to the base of the foot. The biggest difference is the immense power of their feet. The foot is heavier, virtually Harris Hawk-like but thicker like a Golden Eagle. Its interesting to note they appear to be much larger than their flying weights. Also, this cross species seems to have an innate hunting nature, where it would hunt rabbits very naturally, and would rather hunt along with other's than fly to a fist. Naturally, this bird has excellent vision, a common trait amongst hawks and eagles.​

Background and General Information in the RP

During ancient times, the skies were a battlefield of mass destruction. Hawks, Eagles, Falcons, and Owls waged wars on one another to prove their dominance. The battles were brutal and endless. Each side faced several casualties. The 4 birds each had something to prove. As all were Birds of Prey, it was only natural for them to find out which one was superior. So the ensuing battles led to horrible events on every side, even causing some of their kind to go endangered, or even extinct.

And just like any other cliched movie about war and separation, two special birds of prey met one another on the battlefield: a Harris Hawk, and a Golden Eagle. Tired of the constant war of the skies, the two began a romance and learned of the other's nature, traditions, customs. As the time grew, their bond grew, and their distaste for war did as well. In time, the two Raptors were exposed, and brutally exiled from each of their lands.

The only bright side, was that the two were now together. And so, the two lived together, and in time, and what was thought to be impossible, the two bore a child. The child become the two birds' beacon of hope. The child was taught of the traditions of both of his heritages. And in time, he learned specialized Hawk and Eagle techniques, and effectively managed to utilize his own adept version. Using the strength he was taught, and the wisdom he had gained, he led a group of all other Raptors, whether they be hawks, eagles, falcons, or owls, into the war and overcame the differences that rode over the skies.

And in the aftermath, each of the birds of prey had developed truces. In time, many of the groups began to work alongside one another, and even managed to grow their own families. And the legacy grew on. The Child continues to this day to teach his wisdom about the unity of the Raptors. He now leads the entire group of Cross-Species Hybrids of Hawks and Eagles.

The general habits of these Summoning Animals are as best described as nomadic who hunt on their own. The Raptors have several bases, located throughout the entire Ninja World, with at least one base in each of the great lands. Due to their new mixed customs, not much is actually known of them. Due to the open and peaceful relations that these new species have with the other birds of prey, the have open travel between the skies, having no set defined area.

Those who sign the Raptor Summoning Contract must receive either a tattoo through which they Summon the animals from the contract or a scroll to summon the animal, like almost all other Summoning Contracts. This will be provided during training, and an image is provided in the spoiler below. The tattoo is placed in the center of the signer's chest or on the user's back. Blood does not need to be placed on the tattoo however to complete the summon.

A bird dives downward, plummeting to the ground. Mere seconds before hitting, it arcs upward and stops itself from hitting the earth. Jakai, who was riding the mighty bird, jumps off and takes a look at the man in front of him. He smiles and takes out a scroll and holds it in his hand. Before opening it or tossing it, Jakai speaks. I see you're quite eager. Before anything, tell me what you know of Raptors. After that, should I feel you have sufficient knowledge, you may sign onto the contract.

My presence has arrived.

Jakai then notices another individual arrive. With a cheerful smile, Jakai welcomed him and spoke. It's wonderful to see another. Tell me, what do you know about Raptors?

 

[Ryóma]

Tiashe arrives to see a cheerful guy welcoming him. He is quite excited as birds are his favourite animals.

So, Raptors are a type of bird which are a cross species between Eagles and Hawks, and they are birds of prey. They look pretty awesome with the feathers coming down to their feet, and they have excellent vision along with an inborn sense of hunting.

These birds were formed after a war between Hawks, Eagles, Falcons and Owls. But two birds, a Harris Hawk and a Golden Eagle got sick of this war and decided to get together. They were eventually discovered though, and so they were both exiled from their respective lands. In time, they had a child, who learned Eagle and Hawk techniques and ways. This child managed to stop the war and create unity, and now he leads the entire group of Cross-Species Hybrids of Hawks and Eagles. These birds continue to greatly fascinate me.

A proud race of nomadic birds of prey, natural born hunters with a great sense of sight.

First, though Raptors is the name that these animals are known as and respond to, the term "raptor" is synonymous with the term "birds of prey". After the great war of the skies, the name was given to show the unifying and peaceful relations amongst the groups. Thus, the name Raptor was selected. Secondly, these animals have two known hunting styles. The first coming from their Eagle heritage. This style of hunting revolves around soaring great heights and diving downwards at tremendous speeds, clocking over 200 miles per hour. The second style stems from their Hawk heritage. This is a swift flying in the air that allows for a easy grab. As such, Raptors can effectively workaround both styles, heavy diving or swift gliding, as well as combining both.

Jakai began to notice their excitement and decided to move on. There is no need to go into further details. That will be done in time. For now, let us proceed. Now each of you tell me how you would care to sign. Would you care for a tattoo, a simple blood signature, or perhaps both? He then stood patiently, waiting for their replies.

Jakai nodded at the man. He extended his arm out in front of him while holding a small scroll. He then placed in on the ground. Before opening it, he surged his chakra though it and the scroll tripled in size. He then opened the scroll and revealed it. There were specific sections to write names on, with only one name being written, Jakai's. You seem to know where this leads to. Write your name in blood and you will be signed with the Raptors.

Yeah-.. I'm familiair with it.

-I bring my thumb towards my mouth, pressing my teeth into the skin to draw some blood. I then crouch down before the scroll and place my thumb on the top of the empty space directly next to the space which has Jakai's name written on it, pulling my thumb across the scroll whilst drawing a kanji resembling my own name-

Jakai then looks towards Tiashe. Ah, excellent choice. Now the tattoo can be placed on either your back or your chest. Choose which one you'd like and strip remove your shirt.

Id like to have it on my back please. In the middle if you can, since there is another mark there at the bottom. Thanks.

Tiashe then removes his upper clothing, revealing his back.

 

[Kai NB]

Jakai then notices the mark. Trying to brush it aside. Jakai then summons a raptor. The Raptor is golden and small, being the size of his fist. This is a special Raptor. These Raptors are in essence, your tattoo. Don't think to much about it, it's painless. The Raptor then begins to fly and lands on the center of Tiashe's back. It spreads its wings and then begins to flatten. The Raptor then merges into his skin and takes on the image of the Raptor tattoo. And with that, you are now tied to the Raptor contract. Congratulations! However, at this time, you can only summon basic Raptors, nothing too special, as you must wait to sign onto the more unique customs later. Happy to have you along.

Tiashe watches as a Raptor is summoned. He finds it to look quite awesome. The small thing then flies and lands on his back, spreading its wings and merging into Tiashe's back. It does cause some pain, but he could handle it. He was glad to be a part of this contract now.

Jakai was quite pleased. That is perfect. Glad to have you aboard. You are officially signed to Raptors. At this time, you can summon regular raptors as you please when using the Summoning Jutsu. Though, it'll be sometime before you sign onto more specific summons.

The winds of change passed through Jakai as he looked at the summoning contract. Time had passed and not much progress was made. Jakai did have an opportunity that he simply could not refuse, so what was coming was necessary. As he stood up, Jakai focused his chakra on his chest, where his summoning tattoo was located. He then released chakra throughout it as he drew blood and placed it on the summoning contract scroll. A bright light would emanate from the tattoo. And in a flash, the light vanished, and Jakai's tattoo was gone, severing all connections he had with the Raptor Contract.

He then waited for Tiashe. He was the one that would take on the mantle of the contract owner. The summoning contract would now be in his hands, and Jakai knew it was in good hands.

 

[Ryóma]

After some time had passed since Tiashe had signed the Raptors contract, Tiashe returned to this place to find Jakai waiting for him. It seemed he was called out here for an important matter...

 

[Kai NB]

After some time had passed since Tiashe had signed the Raptors contract, Tiashe returned to this place to find Jakai waiting for him. It seemed he was called out here for an important matter...

"Tiashe, it's good to see you. I have both good news and bad news. The bad news is that I'll be giving up ownership of the Raptor Contract. Situations arose that gave me an opportunity. I simply had to take it, at the cost of losing ownership. The good news though, is that you will be the new Contract Owner."

Jakai then tossed over the contract to Tiashe. "With this, I hereby renounce ownership of the Raptor Contract and grant you, Tiashe, position over the entire contract. As of now, you'll be able to do as you please with the contract. Inside, you'll also notice a summon named Shinatobe has been added to the contract. Even though I haven't taught you this yet, as the new owner, you now have access to this summon."

Jakai then smiled to Tiashe, knowing that what he was doing was the right thing.
