Alright! Now, with the exception of Coco Macaque, all the boxes we summoned are individuals. But the Archipelago is divided by a great number of families, with the rulers of the whole reef being called The Barons. These families are composed of Boxes that share the same characteristics. When you use a family technique, you will still only summon, generically, 1 individual, but, unlike other techniques, multiple members of a same family can be in play, whereas, if you were to fight against a fellow box summoner, you wouldn't be able to both summon, say, Marinette. It is also important to mention that, within each family, the blood allegiances are stronger. I'll explain that better later.
Alright, so, just to brush on those circumstances. Coco Macaque are a family of larvae, all connected by chakra. They're transmitters, and they are very primitive, so they're more tools than actual members of the Box social hierarchy. In battle, both summoners could use the same technique, and different Coco Macaque would appear to different summoners. The same summoner could continuously summon the same individuals, and no other summoner, with the exception of the Contract Holder and the Ruling Barons, can summon the same.
If a summoner calls forth a family-less box, say, Marinnette, she will respond to that summoner. No other summoner will be able to use the same technique while she's in play, nor call her off without an appropriate technique ( which does no include Marinette's summoning technique ). The rules do not apply to the Contract Holder nor the Barons, which can use the same summoning technique to vanish or make the box change allegiance. So, Jokey could summon Marinette, and then L could counter by summoning one of the Barons, which, in turn, could summon Marinette, and she would change allegiance, thus L controls a Baron and Marinette.
If L tries to do the same with me, for example, I could simply use the same technique to summon the Baron, and could then vanish him or make him change allegiance, and, since Marinette is attached to the Baron, she would passively do the same.
While, in family summons, each summoner will be attached to a few individuals, and these can't be summoned by anyone but Contract Holder and the Barons. L could employ the same strategy against Jokey as before, but would not be able to make Jokey's ally change allegiance, simply make them vanish. When you summon a member of a family, it is good to get to know their names and personality ( OOC: You can create your own names and personality, if you'd like ), as these are yours and no one else's.
Btw, in all of these counter summonings and vanishings, you always spend chakra and a technique. So it's not feasible to keep nullifying summons, and even less feasible to keep using the Barons for that. Also, after the summoning time ends, your opponent can summon them into battle, so pay attention to what you do.
