I think he meant it in the sense that shinobi are not meant to have attachments. not even to their brothers. They are not brothers, they are just fellow shinobi and clansmen
No, Izuna was Madara's blood brother. If he wasn't then Madara would not have gotten the EMS (or rather not one as strong) after implanting Izuna's eyes into himselfNo, then he'd say now he only has one, you're looking at this too bluntly.
I think that Izuna may not have been his blood brother, like how Naruto would consider sasuke his "brother". Madara and Izuma may have met later on and become close, and the term "brother" is purely symbolic.
this says it allIf he had 4 brothers and two died, he would no longer haver 4.
Just because he said he had 4 brothers, doesn't mean they all died.
its like the owl counting the licks of the tootsie pop. how many brothers did madara lose? 1.2.3. snap! madara gets mad powerups and wants to destroy the world!^this 4-1= not four anymore lol

Exactly. I'm amazed that there are so many different interpretations of that statement. Seems pretty clear he means exactly what he said: he doesn't have 4 brothers anymore, but 1, 2, or 3.I cant believe this discussion actually went on to multiple pages.
On side note, Hashirama said "My little brother was killed." Now I thought Tobirama was his little brother too. Since he said "my little brother was killed" instead of "one of my little brothers was killed" It must mean that tobirama is not his real brother.
Did you see what I did there? If you misinterperate things things, you can spin in any way you want.
There was no translation error. Madara "HAD" 4 brothers at one point before one or more of them were killed. We know that Izuna lived past that age, so at most 3 of his brothers had died at that point.
I hope we can lay this to rest as a reader misinterpretation
