It's not really a sad day for Hinata fans at all. I'm a fan of hers, but I never attributed Boruto's eye to solely Hinata. In fact, ever since The Last, I have been thinking and hoping that Boruto would​ awaken some epic power due to Naruto having Hagoromo's chakara and Hinata having Hamura's.

To be honest, I am more surprised that the jougan seems to be byakugan + Kurama's chakara instead of byakugan + Hagoromo's chakara or Hagoromo's chakara + Hamura's chakara.

Really it is only a select few members who attributed Boruto's eye to only Hinata.
