Do you even understand how Genetics work?
Obviously Boruto got a doujutsu because of Hinata who is a Hyuga.
The nature of the doujutsu woild depend on how much influence Naruto's DNA affected Boruto..
Regardless Boruto's eye comes from the Byakugan!!!

Nice fanfic what is to say the real father of Boruto known as Kurama can't see chakra considering the emotion/evil sensing is his ability. Naruto was merely a vessel for Kurama's seed.

Now Toneri has seen this eye before and confirms it's name for us so it's clearly not a Hyuga thing and the only progression mentioned was Tenseigan. It's most likely since Kurama was originally a part of kaguya and was returned to her possibly a strand variation of her ability not necessarily the Byakugan.
Ps. genetics say the dominant gene wins out not a partial gene. So if you have an individual with blue eyes and another parent with brown eyes. If the blue is a dominant trait it'll win out over brown while retaining the brown gene within the DNA as a lesser gene. You won't get a partial hybrid eye which is blue and brown or a fusion of the two colours.
