I nominate @Lucidus and @Konno
What do you think :vex:
Lucidus may be busy, but if Lucidus was able to be active, I think they have the right temperament.

I played against them last game and I found them to be a capable and sporting opponent.

With the right attitude.

The championship is quite adversarial, and also, a quirk is that since nobody knows each other, town usually does a lot worse than usual, even if the town is made up of supposedly the best players.

they're all used to reading their native site player list, and theyre not used to each other, and sometimes they bring in theories which are relevant to their own site culture, which don't pan out in a different culture.

Like, my home site had "third on the wagon is always mafia" around 2010 or so.

And it was true more or less, over the past year, but that theory didnt hold up once it became a meme, the mafia started to avoid it.

Its obviously completely invalid years later on a totally different site.

So sometimes your cherished local system of finding mafia will be scoffed at elsewhere and people will accuse you of being mafia for coming up with that.

It leads to a huge break down in town teamwork because everyone is bringing their egos and their pasts and they don't know or respect each other yet.

Why Lucidus, then-

Lucidus didnt know me, yet, was a calm and capable person the entire time I played with them. And reasonable, and willing to listen.

Look, sometimes wolves play against that, but I still consider that peek into their psyche to reveal a kind of strength you absolutely need for this tournament.

Lucidus possibly out of everyone here, maybe there are others like Big Boss, has the friendliness and also the skepticism, the patience, everything you need, to be a good townie and good teammate in general.

And good townie behavior that people enjoy, is also useful when rolling wolf, as you can see here.

So, if Lucidus was available, I would recommend sending Lucidus.

i feel after just one game with Lucidus, they have what it takes to have an okay experience there and be a net positive to their team, win or lose.

Lucidus you were also able to have fun and recognize the value of the game even when you lost.

That is good. That's what you need.

That's what you need to bring to MU and the brand new players youre going to meet there, who have their own thoughts and opinions.

Try to find if you roll town, other townies who are useful in a discussion, clear headed, similar to your own personality, and dont let the wolves dominate the discussion. dont let them control the whole game like I did.

Be polite about it, and interact positively with everyone, and you're either the town leader or the town leader who is secretly a wolf. Both things are good.

You can easily do both things, that's why i would personally recommend sending you.

Others who think they can do the above, would also be good to nominate.

That's the formula for success.

It's how I did well in season 2 qualifier and made the mafia scared of me in the finale, and d1 of season 1.

The mafia tend to murder me because you cant have clear headed good activity good communicators who keep explaining why townies are town.

Thats how you eat a murder. lol and sometimes, if youre a vanilla townie, eating a murder instead of someone else, is your goal at night.

Yeet some wolf during the day and you've definitely got a shot to advance, too. no pressure, ever. its a guessing game

@Michelle this is my opinion, dunno if i have a vote here
@Lucidus this is my advice, see previous if your time or mood won't be up for it, feel free to decline.

I have spotted talent in players after just one game. Wiml, one of the finalists one season, used one of my mafia finding techniques to catch Katze in the year Katze won.

I admired Wisdom before they ever got to the finals.

I respected Visorslash from the days he played on TWC, and said he had the makings of someone great, he also made it to the finals.

I mentored Jazzy Kate and she had a perfectly flawless towncore consisting of 2/3 of the player base in the mentor game early last year, after just copying my techniques.

I figured Aubette would be a great player after she was a valuable mafia partner with me about 16 months ago. she's gone on to be quite the good wolf and also, is the only player to have ever made me concede.

She was town, I was a wolf, in 18 years, I've never conceded, she played one game so well, i did. She beat me so good I saw zero win path. I never quit.

I feel like I can see potential in people really well. i've played with Lucidus once, in a win for me and a loss for them.

I think they have the right stuff. Its stuff that exists whether you win or lose, or your guesses are right or wrong.

I also think the things I see will be true even if they have a bad game in the champs tournament. Everyone has a bad game sometimes.

Hiho thanks for the nominations. I sadly wont have time to play champs...its either commitment or nothing at all and I sadly cant find the commitment. I am just a semiretired guy who plays 2-3 games a year and hopes to make it to hosting again sooner or later.

I think this would be a great experience for Konno and Lucidus too.

I thought lucid did well in the last game but they might be too busy and big boss seemed invested so I think they’d be good also. I might be weird I always liked going and would be content if someone nominated themself to go tbh
also this was a very convoluted way of nomming people tbh but yes I also nom big boss if they havent been nommed yet

Thank you to everyone who nominated me, your thoughts and opinions mean a lot but sadly as much as I would like to play, I would not be able to spare the time. I struggled with maintaining a good activity level in the last most recent game as is. Perhaps a future game but for now I will keep to playing games which are less high profile until I have the time I can actively participate better :)

Rohan should do fine if he can be active. Fair warning Rohan, most folks will be as yappy and active as I was or worse.

You don't need experience to play in Champs, my first game was in the first year of playing when I was still a noob with approx 10 games played overall. If you enjoy the game you will like the atmosphere of those games. I liked them a lot, playing with people with different playstyles is highly entertaining!.

How about you, Big Boss?

I think if you want to play and keep an upbeat attitude, you can do well.

Remember, a lot of communities are a lot like this one, after 13 seasons people are running out of players in general, a lot of communities have no players at all and no games on a given year, Giraffe boards is one of my home sites and is still having trouble finding someone who is active and wants to go.

You shouldn't be intimidated.

Some of these folks may in fact be repeat visiting veterans with 10-20 years of experience.

It is a guessing game, they can be wrong or mafia, you can be right.

If you keep an open and skeptical mind, and a positive attitude even when things seem bleak, you should do fine.

The objective is to go, represent the board at all more than zero representation, and try to have a good time.

If youre mafia, keep one mafioso alive minimum to win
if youre town, try to vote for mafia. ez.

Just also keep in mind that they (MU, the board) tends to lock votes when the mafia need 1 more wrong elimination to win

so if you misvote on that final round, you cant unvote and correct it. first vote placed at any time is locked in.

So be careful, on the final round when you cant afford another mistake, use the time, think, and talk before placing a vote.

If you want to hear more feel free to contact me. Otherwise I suggest you go because you care, you show up, you play the game, you have a good attitude.

Anyone can go, I dont believe in elite players, I believe certain towns are good because they work well together.

ive seen the opposite, ive seen all elite hardcore veteran wolf or town teams get utterly destroyed by the better team that showed up that day.

You can be an elite player by rallying the team in a crucial moment.

Just be the leadership they need when the current leader is absent or wrong.

Be the voice of reason and the juror you need to be when others make a case. theyre trying to persuade YOU, read it. If you do your job and make your best guess, they will be happy youre even interacting with them.

that kind of rapport can help if youre both wrong and then it is coming down to the wire and you gotta make the right call.

Even if you both guessed wrong before then, being willing to engage and have a dialogue means there's a chance of turning the situation around.

That's how you steal the spotlight and advance- it doesnt take flashy, it doesnt take experience.

it takes being a valuable player that people look up to when the night is darkest.

Just shine brightly in your moment. Thats it.

You need zero years of experience, just a good personality and a reasonable mind. You had fun with me, if you can handle me, you can see what kind of wolves you could expect to meet.

People with my level of experience and charm and ability to control a town.

If that happens and townies die, get rid of the charmer if theyre mafia.

Forgive them if theyre town, I guess haha.

@The Big Boss see above, if youre not busy
I’m a little busy with work, but I love the recommendations 😀

it requires a lot of time and I wish I could do it but I’m not able to.

I wish more players like you were able to join our site, maybe making animebase into a mafia site.

No one wants to reppresent this site this year from the players of the last 2 games, this is the first year since 2019 when this is happening.
I was the representative or back up 5 years and I try to keep our mafia community alive. Idk what can I do more than that and it's ok to not play in champs if you don't feel like it but at least let's still play here from time to time.
Every single game here either as player or host was special to me and this is because you are all wonderful people. Thank you and let's continue to have fun together!
