Tbh i already knew what it did a will back because i read on myths anyway and the way kishi has said what izanagi does, it makes sense to assume that izanami would be the opposite.

So izanagi casts genjutsu on the user and turns reality into illusions.

With izanami it casts genjutsu on the opponent and turns illusions into reality. Therefore basically itachi can determine any of his opponents fate with this jutsu alone.

Also he is dead anyway therefore even if he loses and eye, it doesnt matter although due to edo tensei he might regain it back. He might be using edo tensei's regeneration abilities to his advantage

ok my thought about izanami is that it is a jutsu that gives user the power to decide what will happen next because as said by itachi is is a jutsu that "decides destiny" and on the other hand the izanagi gives user the power to amend his destiny like death(it is his destiny but since we can edit it the death will turn in merely a genjutsu) But the main point is this that your death "will" come in izanagi but will be converted into life so its mean that in izanami it is a person choice to decide that death will come or not.

Anyone, out there thinking that there's going to be perfect Izanami introduced at some point? We were introduced to imperfect Izanagi though called simply "Izanagi" at the time (imperfect control over Senju Hashirama's DNA). When Tobi fought Konan we were introduced to perfect Izanagi (perfect control), or is Izanami going to be different due to different requirements (e.g. sans Senju Hashirama DNA control)...:shrug:

My personal opinion is that Izanami is not much different from Izanagi. Izanagi is cast on the user himself while Izanami may be cast on the enemy.

Both turn reality into illusion.

An example why Izanami would be a counter;

Danzo casts Izanagi on himself to cheat death. Itachi casts Izanami on Danzo to make Izanagi into an illusion, rendering his Izanagi useless.

Did not Itachi say that both jutsu can cause the sight of the user? Well if so only an Edo can use it like Itachi because only an Edo would be repair the damage.

Yes, you're correct, Itachi explicitly stated the cost/drawback of Izanami as blindness here:

Further, Edo Itachi is probably taking into account his ET state and its regenerative abilities (assuming the cost is losing the sight in one eye) in his tactics for the usage of Izanami. After all, whichever eye he uses to cast Izanami actually costs him 2 MS jutsu, either Tsukiyomi or Ameratsu and Susanoo with his spiritual items - Sword of Totsuka (convenient sealing tool) and Yata's Mirror. Granted, Orochimaru was looking for the Sword of Totsuka, so I presume it can be used outside of Susanoo, but I don't know how obviously. Sound points.

I believe izanami would make reality into a illusion, for example itachi might literaly make him and everything he has done from a certain point back in *time* up till now or mabey some into the future nothing but an illusion an create some type of outcome of his choosing. It sounds a little OP but just a theory.

Itachi said "[the jutsu] decides your fate". I'm thinking that means he can use Izanami while stabbing you and instead of recovering from the stab (Kabuto's instant regeneration), within that same instance use Izanami to decide that was a fatal blow you will die from. It changes the reality of the opponent. But, we know he doesn't want to kill Kabuto so I'm not sure where this is going.

Izanami is a jutsu born in the eyes of a Sharingan user and strengthened when that user gains Mangekyo Sharingan. It is a rare teleportation jutsu, in that it can teleport the user anywhere within their sight. If the user has only unlocked their normal Sharingan, the technique instantly drains half of their chakra upon use, meaning it only has two uses. If the user has unlocked their Mangekyo Sharingan and awakened Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, Izanami is less strenuous and can be used without rapid chakra consumption. The Mangekyo version can also switch two objects teleport the user and an object of their choice anywhere with in the user's sight, as long as the target they are teleporting with them is also within the user's sight. Riyan notes that it doesn't awaken in those with transplanted Sharingan.

Saizo Terumī and Sasuke Uchiha use a different version of this technique. This version is only obtainable by gaining Mangekyo Sharingan. It's effect is similar to Izanagi, but rather focuses on the minipulation of Ninjutsu rather then Genjutsu. It allows the user to control the flow of Ninjutsu they use and can increase or decrease its effectiveness. This technique can even affect another individual's Ninjutsu if one is skilled enough to use it in such a manner. This technique is also supposedly used by Sasuke to control the black flames of Amaterasu, and has shown to even put them out completely. The amount of chakra this technique uses is dependant on what Ninjutsu the user wishs to affect, a Ninjutsu can be negated completely if they pay a slightly larger amount of chakra used to create the technique, and in turn can increase it's effectiveness by that much, making C and B Rank Ninjutsu match the power of an A or S Rank. While this jutsu is powerful, like all Mangekyo techniques, it has it's own share of serious drawbacks. Overusing or relying on this technique drastically accelerates the user's decaying eyesight. Saizo claims that using this technique three times in a row degrades eyesight the same as keeping the Mangekyo Sharingan activated for three to four weeks stright with no rest, and that if this technique is relyed on in each of your battles, you can kiss one-hundred precent of your eyesight goodbye in about only a week and a half, rendering their Sharingan permanently useless. This technique also causes extreme pain to the user's eyes each use, it causes such pain that the user may forceably have their Sharingan deactivated, though they may be inturn forcably re-activated, but this causes more pain, exhausts more chakra then normal to use their Sharingan, and if Mangekyo is used, accelerates blindness even more.
