A pretty good chapter this week, I know a lot of people were probably expecting a bit of a brawl and ninjutsu show-off with Kabuto’s arrival, but I’m actually glad it turned out to be a feint attack.
Knowing how intelligent Kabuto actually is, he must have know for sure how much the odds are stacked against him if he forced his way inside and then had to fight two Jinchurriki’s at once.

The smarter option was definitely to take Yamato, and I bet many of you had came to this conclusion as early as lack week due to Kabuto’s comment about his interest in Yamato as a test subject.
What I do have a gripe about though is just how easily the good guys were fooled into letting their guard down.. again!!! I mean it’s like déjà vu with the Kisame end scenario, but this time they have no real excuse because they more or less know that Kabuto is not to be trifled with and has more than a few tricks up his sleeve.

I mean if the giant snake he summoned didn’t clue them in on not underestimating him, I don’t know what would.
The other mistake was to send in a third-tier character like Aoba to go in and interrogate a top tier villain.
Seriously, I feel that Aoba just isn’t suited for this type of mission; he should just stick to his desk job running errands for the hokage.

- with Yamato captured for Madara, I fear a lot of dark things might transpire. With Madara’s knowledge of the Hashirama genome and Kabuto’s knowledge of medicine and genetics, they could really mess around with his mokuton abilities.
- Kabuto’s mentioning of using Yamato to create better and stronger Zestu clones is a very scary thought, and a process of that magnitude has the potential to kill or seriously maim this character.
- I would have liked to see more exchanges between Deidara zombie and the Tsuchikage – they seem to have a history together because each seems to know the other’s tricks.
Makes you wonder the history between them.

- I’m still lost on how exactly a ‘Dust Element’ would grant a person flying abilities.
- Armadillo penis strikeagain in this chapter as week well. Let’s hope this doesn’t become some weird running gag.
- Kurotsuchi being the grand daughter of Tsuchikage was a surprise but it seems to fit with the casual way she address the him. Her ‘lava element’ appears to be a kekkei genkei ability that combines water and earth to create some type of acidic goop – it bears so many similarities to the Mizukage’s technique. It seems everyone and their grand daughters has some kind of chakra fusion technique these days.
- so Madara did end up implanting the Rinnegan into himself, and the way he has spoken so far after his new appearance seems to suggest he is accustomed to this half sharingan- half rinnegan goofiness.

Madara wasn’t just boasting when he said Nagato’s rinnegan originally belonged to him, I’m getting the feeling he knows full well how to unleash the power of his ‘new’ eyes.

Hey guys! What's up? :D

As kabuto says in the last page, he did a judgemental call, as he saw that he was fighting an impossible fight, as i believe he was not expecting the Tsuchikage when he left.
But then again, this could be his aim from the beginning and that was an excuse he told madara, and all he wanted was to mess around with Yamato's cells O.O
Thank You for stating the obvious. I also, hereby nominate myself for most awesome coolest member. I guess I'm in the lead melo.

lord8469, I agree. I think that Madara killed the original owner of those eyes. For Madara to have those eyes to implant it into Nagato, is really something. Just think about it. Nagato was a child when he had those eyes. This means that Madara had to have killed a child to get it. You just can't take a grown person's eyes and implant it into a child. It just won't work due to size. This why I suggested that Madara had to implant the eyes in a child. That child was a member of the Uzamaki clan. Now that Nagato developed the eyes and was a grown man in his 30's, the eyes are not the right maturity for Madara to use.

I am still wondering what angle Kabuto have been playing. It will be interesting to find out what he wants from Yamato. Maybe Kabuto thinks that he have something special about him as he was the only surviver from the fusion of the Shodai's DNA.

I am lost to where the Naruto Manga is going.

Status: CONFIRMED SPOILER
by: Ohana - 2Ch

Naruto 515 (Quick Summary)

Spoiler provider believes Hanzou is one of the Edo Tensei. Also the 7 dead jinchuuriki and the former 5 Kages, among others (This is not to mention the ones mentioned by previous users here: Haku, Zabuza, Kimimaro, Chiyo-baa, Hizashi, Asuma, dead Akatsuki).

Naruto and the turtle island folks are to proceed to the Shinobi Alliance location by means of Tsuchikage. Naruto finally begins to realize something's wrong.
Neji, who's part of the scouting team and Anko's team are nearby to the Akatsuki base. Gaara is a regiment commander for allied forces.
Naruto is in the midst of training using just his jinchuuriki power.
[Madara] plans to force Yamato to talk using the Sharingan, as using the Rinnegan to take information would result in Yamato dying.
Ends with Kabuto and Madara: "It's time to go to war".
---------------

Tsuchikage is taking the turtle island to the Shinobi Alliance place (I believe he's making it fly too).
Naruto says that things are weird cause the sky shifted again, and that the mission's over so he needs to go back to Konoha to wait for Sasuke in his attack.
Sasuke is still wrapped up with those bandages. He asks Zetsu if he's ready yet. Black Zetsu says not yet. White Zetsu says the next time he looks upon something, it will be as if he's in a different world and that it looks interesting.
The scouts sense Kabuto inside.

Kabuto says they need to extract info from Yamato before anything. But he says not to kill him before they can use him to strengthen the Zetsu.
Madara says he could easily use the Rinnegan Ningendou's technique to get the info but that Yamato would die from it.
A snake slithers onto Yamato's arms and bites his palms.
Madara says that it's a poison that can immobilize the Mokuton powers, and then calls Kabuto a (crafty) bastard for doing so much research on Shodai's cells.
Kabuto says its a remedy he made to suppress Hashirama's powers, and not to worry, that he won't use it on Zetsu.

Kabuto says that even without using Rinnegan, they can get the info they want with his truth serum and Madara's Sharingan.

Aoba and Motoi talk, Motoi says that it seemed they already arrived (to the Alliance location via Oonoki)
It's basically a meet and greet for everyone and they're grouped together.
Tsuchikage is talking to Mizukage about the situation, and about Kyuubi and Hachibi.
The kages and Shikaku talk about the situation, their forces, and other things.
Kankurou is the captain of the Ambush Squad/Battalion. He introduces himself to Sai and Omoi. Sai greets him and wonders what nickname he should give him. Omoi wonders if someone as young as that should be a captain. There are also others.
Kakashi tells Gaara he's the regiment commander. Ao asks Shii if this is his first time in a war, and Shii says yes. Daru is the captain of the 1st Unit/Battalion. Tenten asks if he is their captain, and Chouza remarks that he seems pretty sluggish/listless (using a play on his name "darui", which means that)
Someone named Kitsuchi (yellow earth) is captain of the 2nd battalion/unit. Karui, Hinata (who says that she's nervous), and Kurotsuchi are part of it among others, and Kurotsuchi curses that it has to be her father who has to lead them.

3rd battalion has Hatake Kakashi as captain. Guy who's still collapsed is on his team. Lee asks if Gai is alright. Sakura asks what happened with him.

4th unit/battalion lead by Gaara, whose position is regiment commander and commanding officer. Has Chouji, Temari, and Shikamaru. They make some remarks (Chouji's is about food and Shikamaru is complaining about how much of a pain this is).

5th battalion/unit lead by Mifune. Has Kiba, Hana, Shino, and Ino and they make their remarks.

Kabuto: "First I have the Akatsuki (Itachi, Deidara, Sasori, Kakuzu, Nagato). Then the former jinchuuriki members. Then there's the 5 kages' once predecessors. The rest of them are skilled fighters who made a name for themselves" (Zabuza, Haku, Kimimaro, Asuma, Hanzou, Chiyo-baa, Gaara's aide, Neji's father).
Yamato was put to sleep by the Shodai wall/slime thing.
Madara: "Let's get this war started!"

damn, Kabuto is one bad ass villain. Chiyo-baa,Hanzou,Deidara,Sasori and the former kages are more than enough for the five villages. Every one of them can kill more than a thousand army. lol. I don't know how this guys are going to win the war but I know this one would be a huge blood bath. Adding Sasuke's eternal MS,Madara + rinnegan + Kabuto +7 Jinchuuruki, I don't think the good guys doesn't stand a chance even with Naruto/bee/kakashi/tsunade/4 kages around; Gaara is strong but he doesn't have the power to beat this guys like he used to having the 1tail extracted from him, even in the last last movie he got his ass kicked by naruto even without sage mode. lol. + the Raikage only has one arm. The odds are really not in there favor right now, I don't know how Kishi would play this war out and make the good guys the victor. I know some of the main characters will die but I hope Hinata/Shikamaru/Lee isn't one of them.

I'm really surprised they put Hanzou back into play, one huge character for them to revive. Even with Orochimaru/Jiraiya/Tsunade at their prime can't beat them, how much more without them. lol. I do hope there are some kind of limitation to this resurrection jutsu of kabuto to even the war out a little because I really don't see them winning.

I agree. Kishi went overboard with Kabuto. Its like I want to cry for all those ninja. Now a thought! What if Madara is supposed to win this war, only to have Naruto and other defeat him. As I said, I don't know what direction this manga is going. At least Jiraiya, White Fang, Shodai, Nidaime, Sandime, and Yondime are not among Kabuto walking dead. Also, Sandime Kazekage is not there. This will still be troublesome.

Now its time to keep a close eye on Kabuto. The reason I say this is because of his shady dealings. Will Kabuto really fight with his walking-dead army with all his heart and soul? Or, merely use them as a psychological obstacle against key fighters in this war.

Madara might be a little too busy to keep an eye on Kabuto.

I think Kabuto resurrected the 4th or 3rd Hokage, it states there the former kages, and the image was a bit hanging because they only showed three. But even without them they can defeat the joint forces with ease, Deidara with C4 alone can destroy a huge platoon. Yeah, I was quite relieved that Jiraiya wasn't included though, just a wild guess, but maybe he is still alive. Kabuto could have resurrected Jiraiya to play mind games with Naruto just like the other shinobi that were resurrected. Neji's dad can play a huge role against Neji, asuma and chiyo also. In the spoiler it also shows that "Gaara's aide" is also there, the one that looks like Tsunade. Yeah, even without Kabuto they could crush the alliance easily with the seven jinchuurukis. But I don't think those guys are not that strong compared to Gaara is(except for the three tails), 6 tails in the filler episode looked weak.

I think Kishi is going to create arcs on each major character before the finale, for example Neji arc because Neji's team and his undead father will fight each other. Just my guess, because it looks like the former kages are going to fight the dead one's too.

Woah, this week’s early release caught me by surprise. Good job Kishi and *********** on rolling it out almost 2 days early.

There’s not much going on for Naruto’s role in the story this week either, I can’t believe they’ve still managed to keep him in the dark about the war’s progress and Yamato’s kidnapping.
And I wonder if it’s even worth trying to hide it from Naruto any longer, I mean this war is on the march towards them now and that’s not something you can conceal from Naruto.

The other thing is that now that Yamato is captured and presumably been interrogated by the end of this chapter, Naruto’s whereabouts and potential hiding spots have been compromised so wouldn’t be smarter to inform him what is really happening so he’d be prepared for the ensuing onslaught? One thing I do like seeing is Killer Bee actually starting to training Naruto on using his Jinchuriki powers….
But why didn’t he do this sooner?!? The war’s almost on top of them, will Naruto be ready to take on the new “Itachi-eyes” Sasuke?

Now, onto the war preparations themselves, I got so many little points I want to mention so I’m going to be lazy and use point form again:
- loved the color spread page this chapter and the subtext of how the young uns will experience war for the first time in their lives.
That’s right, no more kiddy gloves, everything that’s happened til now was just training for the real thing. This war will be epic!

- Tsuchikage’s ability is nuts. This chapter with carrying the turtle by himself pretty much solidifies the theory that his power is gravity based.
My thoughts is that it’s a earth/wind kekki genkai that actually nullifies an object’s weight or reduced the force of gravity on it, thereby allowing him to use wind elemental to carry the object upwards (ie. fly) like the wind carries a feather. I can see such abuse with this power, I mean he can literally uplift an entire section of the ground and throw it like it was nothing.

- I like the new shinobi army divisions, Kishi must have worked like a madman trying to plan everything out and have all the secondary characters have a role in each division.
I think almost all the groupings and leader selections are dead on:
Ambush Division: Kankuro seems a bit young as leader, but he’s got the battle experience. I’m chuckling that Sai’s already becoming a pain in the ass for Kankuro.

Medical Division: Shizune is probably the only senior medical nin we’ve been introduced to who’s suitable for the leadership role. Why isn’t Sakura not in this division?
Intel Division: no comments here, I’m just glad that screw-up Aoba’s been relegated to a non-combat role
Sensor Division: ugh, that useless senor-type bodyguard for the Raikage is back.

Division 1 (midrange): I think Tenten is more long-range fighter, and why isn’t Choji’s father a close-range fighter? Darui as leader: dunno enough about him to comment.
Division 2 (close-range): This is where all the cool kids hang out. Don’t know much about the leader, Kitsuchi other than he’s Kurotsuchi’s father and the Tsuchikage’s son.
Division 3 (close/midrange): I think Choji and his dad belong here. A nice hybrid unit, I think this Division will fill a lot of roles in combat. Glad to see Kakashi in charge of it.
Division 4 (long-range): Shikamaru is essentially the leader here, we’ll be hearing no end to his “mendokusai”s until the wars over, I’m loving it.
Division 5 (spec ops): the outcasts, lol. Shino is too cool to be in this division, send him up to long-range.
- Hacks! I know a lot of us have been calling Kabuto’s new upsurge of new powers/abilities to be too unbalanced, but this chapter’s revelation about the extent of his undead summonings just tops everything we’ve been complaining about.
I think what we really need an answer to is the exact restrictions of this forbidden jutsu.
Because essentially this chapter tells us that Edo Tensei can bring back anyone from the dead and allow Kabuto to use it as his minion.
This technique is so broken that it’s pointless to rant about it any further, however I can see why Kishi chose to allow it to be abused this way….

- Zabuza, Haku, Hanzo, Kimimaro, Chiyo, Asuma, Dan (Tsunade’s boyfriend), Neji’s dad, the previous kages, Akatsuki and jinchuuriki’s and add pretty much anybody who is known to have died in the Naruto universe… yes, they’re all coming back in zombie form. It almost makes the Kabuto hax0rz forgivable; we’ll have to see just how much power these undead copies retain of their living counterpart.

But I also get the feeling these summons were selected to have more of a psychological impact on the allied shinobi forces.
I can see some sick match-ups down the line to really mess with the minds and morale of our protagonists: Shikamaru forced to fight Asuma, Tsunade vs Dan, Neji vs his father, current kages vs dead kages, the list can go on.

No doubt about it, expect some of the most epic match-ups down the road.
- Some character that haven’t been shown to be resurrected but potentially still could appear: Jiraiya, Konan, Minato, Third Hokage… am I missing anyone important? Either of Jiraiya or Minato will be a hard fight for Naruto, or worse yet… he had to fight both of them together:confused:.

This week does not have much to say. Gaara give a passionate speech to all ninja he commands. Its seems like the war have started and the first set of casualties are apparent. To freedom! Ikuzo!

Wow, this was a sweet chapter to start off the war. With first blood already drawn, the good guys have already suffered casualties from the elites of Kabuto’s Edo Tensei army.
I’m expecting great things from Kishi in the chapters to come, this is the kind of dark and merciless fighting which I think has been missing from Naruto for sometime now.
We’ve been hearing about the brutality of the previous ninja wars from older characters in the series, but now we’ll see it played out in front of us for the first time.

But I think we should expect this war to be bloodier than all others – as we’ve seen already, Akatsuki doesn’t obey any conventional rules of engagement; for them, nothing is taboo.
That said, I’m more than ever convinced that this is the beginning of the last arc of Naruto, simply because I can’t think of a more epic way to end this series. But with the scale of this war and the sheer number of characters involved, don’t expect a quick end anytime soon though

Well, we’ve already have some deaths so far on the ambush squad’s side. Anko’s advanced scout team got annihilated.
There wasn’t any doubt that Anko would be outclassed by Kabuto in the encounter last chapter.
Although chapter 517 doesn’t directly state whether Anko is just unconscious or dead, my gut tells me she’s a goner. Even if Kabuto is keeping her alive, you can expect him to use her against our heroes down the line.
This appears to be a theme that’s going to be exploited by Akatsuki to the fullest in the battles to come.
Sai is the first victim to this psychological warfare, will he be able to fight against the only person he can truly call family in this whole world? It’s an especially sad situation for Sai as well since it is the value of bonds and family that Naruto had instilled in him that is partially making him hesitate in this situation.
The old Sai of Roots, as cold as he was, would probably have been unfazed.

It’s a blast to see Sasori and Deidara in action again as a team. Sure, we’ve seen them fight before, but always as individuals.
This could be the first time we see them fighting as a duel, and despite their constant bickering, they need to admit that they make a devastating combo team.

The use of that Aburame as a walking suicide bomber is just plain evil, but so very effective as an opener to the battle between ambush squads.
And I never realized it until now, but Sasori could turn any dead enemies’ body into a fighting minion right on the battlefield.
And remembering his 100 puppet technique, this means he could easily muster up a small army with the corpses of the alliance shinobi they kill here. This combined with Kabuto’s Edo Tensei, means that Akatsuki’s army will only grow stronger as the alliance suffers more and more casualties.
If this war is dragged on, the alliance will be eventually destroyed.
I think if the kages plan to win, they need to strike at the core and take other either Kabuto or Madara as soon as possible.

Other points I’d like to mention:
- no Naruto sighting in this chapter at all, but I don’t mind the least. I rather like the scenario of him training like crazy to master his new powers and come to the rescue like a superstar when the situation looks grimmest – like during Pein’s attack on Konoha.
- I like how the restrictions on the Edo Tensei were outlined in this chapter. As expected, it’s an overpowered jutsu.
There’s no way to stop the summons even if they kill Kabuto. They must either permanently immobilize the body (such as sealing technique) or trick Kabuto to stop the technique through genjutsu.
The latter scenario gave me an interesting idea for a plot twist: what if Sasuke was the one who uses genjutsu to trick Kabuto? One reason for Sasuke to do this is that Kabuto has resurrected Itachi as one of his minions. And although Kabuto hasn’t faced Sasuke yet since partnering with Madara, we know the two hate each other.

- Omoi looks like he means business and judging by the chapter’s title (Omoi’s war), the next few chapters will focus on him.
I’m expecting some great jutsus from him to come, his only set back is his youth and inexperience.
But I think Omoi’s situation is representative of what will happen to all the characters of the original Konoha 11 — this war will be the greatest lesson of their lives.

I think Kankuro has a trump card on Sasori, remember the summit of the five kages? he used Sasori's old body as a puppet to attack Sasuke( on the lower right), my guess is that it might be a major trump card, because it might indicate that Kankuro has really improved a lot since his last meeting with Sasori, So all is not lost for the Shinobi ambush squad. But I am wondering what would happen with Sai against his brother. But Deidara with C4 and the others are still there so I don't know how will this play out.

I also agree on the idea that Kabuto is only resurrecting those who have psychological advantage against the Shinobi Alliance, Naruto could face Nagato again just when they have become friends and all, can make it hard for Naruto to face Nagato again knowing that Naruto values life and friendship.

Not only that Deatheknight but it seems that to fight against these un-dead ninja is to defeat the soul with love. Sai and his brother is a good example. Now we see Sasori and Kankuro. So the battle is won! One up for the good guys.

Not so fast, the cloud ninja hasn't been captured yet he could turn the tables also. I guess Kabuto's Edo Tensei doesn't bring back it's undead 100% power back when they were still alive, they looked weak there, but as they say, the new generation always beats the new. :)

So if the weakness of Edo Tensei is that it seems if all the wishes of the dead are satisfied and, they have no unfulfilled dreams, they no need to bind them self to the earth so they will no longer be bond to the earth and they will go to the heaven or what ever the place they go after they die. so they will be no longer controlled by the impure world tech of kabuto.

i hope some thing similar will happen to asuma neji's dad and granny chio of sand and most of the elite ninjas whom we came across and more over sasuri will also release his soul from the earth since he found worthy opponent and similarly itachi will do the same and nagato will meet naruto i hope and use talk no jutsu and unbind him. lol. But I do think thats a lame way of stopping Edo Tensei though.

Interesting enough, the 4th may have invented the rasengan from observing the demon fox in his early years. So he developed a technique in hopes that it will be used by Naruto. Is this a prophecy from the old sage toad? Hmmm! However, it helps strengthens the belief that the 9-tails was always in Konoha even after the Nidaime!

I was kinda upset because another improvised rasengan? oh cmon kishi. but then I read the eight tail's statement "This is the first technique" a jinchuuruki will learn, so I do hope Naruto learns other techniques not just another rasengan. But the rasengan bomb with wind element should probably look cool afterwards and I hope he uses it on those zetsus. It would be cool to watch half of those zetsus gone with just one blow by naruto. :D

I wonder when Naruto trained Kankuro to use talk no jutsu to Sasori. lol. Sasori dying like that? Kinda lame, expected a better fight but he was kinda useless, fight seemed like 5 minutes and that's it. Oh well, Deidara is still alive and hopefully he blows everyone up, I personally preferred the other spoiler of Hidan returning, would have been better than this. Hidan was a great bad guy. :(

The most interesting part was the part when Kabuto and Madara talked, I wonder how this will play out.
