about Kabuto?s resurrection of dead Akatsuki members, I thought that somebody else had beaten me to the punch with a fake spoiler reveal. But lo and behold, fact turns about to be stranger than fiction in this case and Kabuto indeed does pull it off.
One thing that really surprised me was when Kabuto mentioned that the Second Hokage was the original creator of this jutsu. Hearing that alone made the Second a lot more cooler in my books because this jutsu is certainly not something a ?good guy? would use. It?s no wonder why Edo Tensei was locked away as a forbidden jutsu by Konoha, but it makes me wonder what other dark techniques the Second had cooked up during his time.

Personally, I didn?t think Kabuto would make a move so soon after just reappearing last chapter, and I certainly didn?t expect him to pull off a jutsu of this scale. I guess this is one way to bring back popular villains that have been killed off already, but I think this seems almost too good to be true. Was Kabuto really this powerful of a jutsu user? I know he was like the Simpson?s version of Mr. Smithers to Orochimaru and stuck to his master like glue, but how did he manage to perfect the Edo Tensei jutsu in so such short a time when even at his prime, Orochimaru only managed to summon two bodies. The true test of the power of Kabuto?s jutsu, though, will come when these newly resurrected Akatsuki zombies go to battle.

It certainly is very convenient for Madara that Kabuto came at this time to offer his services. Although I?m sure Madara has the resources to raise a mercenary army, the loss of the major members of his organization should have hampered his plans somewhat as they would be useful to spearhead any major attacks in the upcoming war.
Now, all the big guns have returned, including Pein, Deidara, Kakuzu, Sasori and even Itachi. But I have my doubts whether these zombie knock-offs will come close to having the powers of their living predecessors.
For one thing, the thought of bringing back Nagato for Kabuto to gain control of Pein?s bodies seems like a broken mechanic in this jutsu; the same goes for resurrecting Sasori in order to access his hundred puppet army.
It feels like there?s no upper limit to how powerful Edo Tensei can go since Kabuto will be in control of a myriad of kekkeri genkai abilities.
The only zombie Akatsuki that?s at a disadvantage right now is probably Itachi. After all, his little bro just took his eyes and Itachi doesn?t really have anything very special to offer without his Sharigans; maybe Madara can spare him some Sharingans on loan from his collection.

The Kabuto part really overshadowed the rest of the chapter which I felt was actually quite a refreshing read. For the first time in what feels like forever, there wasn?t a single appearance or mention of Sasuke. Not only that, Kishi seems to have listened to our complaints and brought back some much missed humor back into the manga.
Even though a major conflict is looming on the horizon, it was nice to see our favorite Naruto characters genuinely smiling and happily going about life. I guess Tsunade?s awakening really brought back a lot of spirit into Konoha, which was much needed after the recent series of events.
Of course, this means Kakashi has missed his chance at the Hokage throne yet again. But even though I cheered for his nomination in the past, the truth is Kakashi becoming the kage might mean we won?t be seeing him on the frontlines as often expect for major battles. So in the end, Tsunade?s return is a very good thing for everyone.

The scene with Naruto being summoned to toad mountain to meet the Elder Sage was a lot more relaxed than I anticipated considering that this might be a crucial point in how Naruto develops his powers in the future.
The encounter with an octopus that the sage mentions is undoubtedly referring to a future meeting between Naruto and Killer Bee.
And with the story leaning towards Naruto learning to better control the Kyuubi, this is strong indication that Naruto could be training under Killer Bee for a while in the future.

I think we all know who ?the young man with powerful eyes? is, but I wished the sage would offer a hint on how that battle might turn out; I think that would have been great foreshadowing, especially if the sage mentions an outcome we hadn?t anticipated before. Lastly, Naruto is granted access to the key to opening and closing the seal to the Kyuubi set by his father.

It felt like Naruto was being granted the Nuclear Launch codes in this scene, because it gave him complete control over releasing the Kyuubi into the world again.
This is very significant event in Naruto?s life right now, but I think he must feel a lot of conflict inside.
On the one hand, he had promised in the past not to rely on the Kyuubi?s power anymore and made himself stronger through vigorous sage mode training. Going back and releasing Kyuubi?s powers again will be like going against all his hard work and personal accomplishments.

But on the other hand, Naruto must consider whether he can win against the new Sasuke with just his powers alone. Even when Naruto fought Pein, he used his Kyuubi transformation (even if not willingly) to gain an upper hand. Also, Minato didn?t just seal Kyuubi inside Naruto without a reason, he foresaw Madara?s threat to Konoha and gave his son that power to resist Madara in the future. Right now, Naruto is still apprehensive of Kyuubi?s power considering that he has caused destruction and hurt his friends whenever he transformed.

But I think his encounter with Killer Bee will help ease that mentality towards the Bijuu and give Naruto a power upgrade even greater than sage mode

When is comes to Kabuto, I can?t really say until I see him in battle but he has to be strong if he can control those ninja, he even surprised Madara! I think the biggest problem if the Nagato body because not only does he has the rinnegan, he has all 5 elemental chakras and the six path techniques and even the ability to to bring back the dead, but thats if he has power over the rinnegan!

Correction: Orochimaru had the ability to summon three bodies. It was the Third who prevented the 4th Hokage to being summoned.
Also, makes you wonder if Kabuto can summon more bodies. He was only limited to the fact these were the only DEAD Akatsuki memebers

What I don?t get, is why Kabuto didn?t summon Hashirama again, then keep these guys as back-ups just in case Madara won. Hashirama would be the perfect counter to someone claiming to be Madara, and would probably be very insightful and know most of Madara?s tricks

I think the edo tensei is all that it requires are dead bodies for the scarfice. That is why he was killing those ninjas in the last chapter.

When the third explained it the ninja only comes back with about a third of there strength, but kubuto says he has taken the technique to the next level so he may be able to give them 100% of there power.
Also kubuto is trying to get close to madara so he can get close to sasuke, remember he said he was gonna kill sasuke first then go after naruto

About if nagato and itachi still have thier eyes, and the rest of akatsuki with thier abilities, I don?t know if it?s known that the ninjas brought out by edo tensi technique still keep thier full strength as if they?re were really alive and well, but that technique doesn?t require their entire dead body parts and inn the battle with the third hokage the first hokage still had his kekke genkai wood techniques so since the sharigan and the rinnigan are itachi and nagato?s kekke genkai they should still have it with edo tensai.

Some people think that Kabuto was made too powerful now, I?d say what did you expect? I mean he was already and excellent medical ninja, and orochimaru not exactly a pushover, with his knowledge of forbidden techniques and his regeneration abilities, as well as his huge reserves of chakra. Now with orochimaru?s dna inside him kabuto has become a serious threat to the ninja world. Did you see madara?s ?oh shit? face? He doen?t just do that for anybody.

It?s most likely now that naruto will recieve a little training from Bee on how to control the bijuu inside him, which I?m sure will be essential to fighting against sasuke. I?m positive he?s gonna throw some powerful genjutsu naruto?s way, and since the beggining of this story naruto hasn?t had the best of times fighting against it, and the kyuubi helping him out with this like the octopus did for Bee will be a huge help. Sasuke has already surpass itachi in strength chapters ago, but know that he has the ems, this will be naruto?s toughest fight yet, even more tougher than pain

I wonder will Kabuto use Itachi to keep Sasuke at bay? Will he use Edo Tensei to bring back Jiraiya and make Jiraiya face Naruto or maybe Tsunade as a cruel joke? There are limitless possibilities with the introduction of Kabuto, no doubt that Madara crapped his pants when he realized that he had just been Edo Tensei-ed

Very interesting chapter this week. Just when you thought you knew what Madara was really about, Kabuto comes in and completely changes everything.
I didn?t think anything could actually surprise Madara these days, but whatever is in that sixth casket sure has Madara freaked out. Kabuto certainly did his research well and single-handedly manages to back Madara into a corner when everyone else Madara has faced so far couldn?t even touch him.
You got to have a lot of respect for Kabuto right now, and I think this is just the tip of the iceberg of what he has planned since he also intentionally led Anko?s team to Madara. But what?s with everyone?s obsession with Sasuke? Now even Kabuto is vying to make Sasuke his boy toy, when will this ever end? For the other half of this chapter, we finally see Naruto man up and take full control of the key to unlocking the Kyuubi?s seal. I think this event has been long overdue, but it?s nice to finally see Naruto receive the inheritance his father left him. I can see some really hardcore training ahead for our loudmouthed knucklehead.

I had hoped that Kabuto would have a mini-battle with Madara this chapter. For one thing, it would be a way for him to show off the abilities of the Akatsuki zombies he controls, but more importantly prove that they actually have comparable power to their living counterparts and have full use of their kekkei genkai abilities.
I?m curious why Madara just accepted that Kabuto has resurrected his old crew without testing them himself.
Kabuto is know for using deceit and Madara is well aware of this, so you can?t throw out the fact that he could be bluffing this entire time and those bodies are nothing but corpses of the ninja he had killed and used his medical jutsu skills to modify their appearance; the latter ability was one of Kabuto?s specialties in the past.
So I?m still a little wary if Kabuto?s edo tensei is all he claims it to be since it still seems too powerful for him to have pulled off after only recently acquiring Orochuimaru?s powers.
Besides, I have a personal rule about not putting too much trust in a guy with a snake coming out of his ass, lol.

Now the question is what is in that final coffin Kabuto summons. From Madara?s reaction, it has to be someone of very high importance to him. There have been lots of theories being thrown around in the comment section, so I?ll just list some of the possibilities: 1. It?s Madara?s brother, the one he took the Sharingans from to gain his Eternal Mangekyou;
2. It?s the Sage of the Six Paths, the ancestor of the Sharigan;
3. It?s the First Hokage, the one who defeated Madara in the past;
4. It?s Madara?s true body, meaning the current Madara might not be who he say he is.
My thinking is that the body Kabuto has summoned is either a person who he knows can defeat Madara or a body that can used to blackmail Madara due to the secrets it hides. Kabuto?s comment ?you can relax, I haven?t told a soul? on page 4 seems to suggests the latter possibility.
I also like the play on the idea that the Madara we have come to know is not really who he say he is, or at least he is not telling us the whole truth about what happened to him after his defeat by the First Hokage.

Another one of Kabuto?s comment which has stuck in my mind from last chapter was when he first greets Madara he says ?you go by Madara these days, don?t you?? That comment could be just a snaky remark, but could also suggest the fact that Kabuto believes (or knows for certain) that Madara is not who he really claims to be.
And if we look back, has Tobi really provided any proof that he really is the infamous Madara Uchiha? Why all the secrecy? Why hide his face? The only things supporting his claim is his knowledge of the Uchiha?s secret past and the fact he possesses a Sharingan, neither of which can exclusively confirm his identity. For all we know, he could just some crazy madman out to complete his collection of Sharingans.

I really like the idea that Naruto will be seriously training to learn to use the Kyuubi more effectively in battle. His berserker transformations have been fun to watch in the past, but I?d like to see Naruto utilize the kind of abilities Killer Bee has been showing off by working with his Bijuu rather than against it.
For a moment there, I thought Naruto would turn down the offer to the key to the Four Element Seal, but I?m glad he has come to realize that he can not defeat Sasuke with sage mode alone.
From here on, Naruto is no longer going to run away from the demon fox, but face it head on and eventually cooperate with it; it looks like the plans Minato had set in motion after his death are coming to fruition.
My only concern is how Naruto plans to come to a compromise with a being that is essentially pure hatred and malice given form.

As we?ve seen in the past, even for Naruto to give a little ground to the fox and let his hatred overcome him would result in disastrous consequences.
For Naruto to make this work in the future, he really needs to control his own emotions and come to understand the source of hatred. We?ve caught a glimpse of that during his last encounter with Sasuke, I?m looking forward to seeing how Naruto will evolve from here on. Now go find that octopus

anyone authoritative in determining which is the right or most accurate translation of ch490?

i am wondering which one is legit: , madara: where did you get that? OR madara: how did you do this? since i was wondering if the 'where' and the 'how' could refer to a place of impossibility such as the belly of the death god.

obviously, madara freaked out about this new 'impure world resurrection' summon. who or what could it be?

(A) this latest 'pawn' of kabuto must be really strong and/or detrimental to madara's plan and strength, so madara would not dare fight him. or

(B) madara could still be playing. so far we have not seen him cause fatal damage on anyone, could he really attack and kill kabuto in the first place? he is waiting to decipher kabuto's worth and his weakness.

be that as it may, madara saw it as a waste of time and energy to be fighting kabuto at this time.

but the way kabuto acted seems to show us that he is overly confident that what he had summoned was an 'ace in his sleeve', someone or something that would 'force' madara to accept his offer. it was an ace since he actually assured madara that he need not worry since he has not or will not tell anybody about this. surely 'this' summon must act as some sort of 'weakness' to madara, or something that would reveal his weakness or the secret to his power and strength. it could be someone really significant in madara's past and holds a great influence as to the kind of future madara would have.

my guess if it's a person, then it most likely be (1) the sage of the six paths since he holds the secret of the past, the history of all ninjutsu, and also holds the essential secrets of how madara would be able to attain his moon-eye plan, which actually is, to resurrect the rikkoudo sennin in himself. kabuto must be wanting the same thing as well, esp. when he said he wanted to discover the truth behind all ninjutsu. he wanted to be the resurrection of the sage of the six paths. this could also be the reason why kabuto needed a young, fragile, living uchiha; since he must be planning to complete what orochimaru failed to accomplish, that is, to possess the body of an uchiha and so to acquire the power of the sharingan. this description could also be in contrast to madara, that while he is an uchiha, he must be neither young, fragile, nor living; nor none of the above. that is if we are presuming that all of kabuto's words and actions are well-placed, that he really was aiming to corner madara into submission. so we could sense, kabuto used blackmail as well. "that's right, you can't refuse" since we want the same 'ace' and i happen to HAVE it.

if it is NOT the rikkuodo sennin, then it could be (2) madara's brother, since he could also hold the secret of the mangekyou and the secret to madara's strength and/or weakness; and madara could still have some emotional attachment to him, that is why madara would hesitate fighting 'him'.

OR if it is not the former two, then this latest summon could be (3) the former mizukage, since kisame called madara the former mizukage, which is really a mind-blower for us? how could it be that this tobi guy was the former mizukage and uchiha madara at the same time? for sure, the former mizukage was not known as madara or an uchiha, and would look similar to him (as far as we see the face and the sharingan behind the mask). could the former mizukage hold the key to defeating madara also?

now the last bet, (4) it could be the shodai, that is, if kabuto has made possible the impossible and was able to retrieve the sould of the shodai and also perhaps the nidaime (so he was able to use his forbidden jutsu, so he still is one of his pawns), and yes, even the third and fourth from out of the death god's belly, but i guess, this would be way too over the top.

wait a minute, what if it is (5) the real uchiha madara? well, that's way beyond than over the top. since if tobi is what he claims he is, and what he shows he is, and what itachi, minato, kakashi, jiraiya attest he is, and what all the rest of the akatsuki accepts he is (including kisame[!] who also called him mizukage), then this guy must really be a good impostor. how did he get all the power that madara possess? kakashi's kamui was stopped/cancelled by him, and kakashi could not think of anyone else but the real madara who was behind that mask.

or was he only a duplicate of madara, a zetsu jutsu; but that would mean, madara is no other than zetsu? how can that be when zetsu claims madara is faster and much more powerful than he is (e.g., the way they traveled to where itachi and sasuke were). see how it ends with a reductio ad absurdo.

so my best bet would also be #1, the sage of the six paths.

I don't believe that kabuto revived the sage of the 6 paths because it would be waaaayyyy imbalanced for me. C'mon this is the sage of the 6 paths were talking about, the king of all ninjutsu and someone like Kabuto can revive him. That's way to imbalanced for me because Kabuto just revived 5 great shinobis. Deidara for example can blow up an entire village if he wants to. Itachi could also do this if he still have his sharingan. Sasori too. How would the good guys(konoha, sand, etc) match up if the sage of 6 paths got included in the undead army? That's impossible.

@melo(Narutochaos reply) I don't know but i'm very sure that it's not the sage of 6 paths because it's way too impossible to beat the guy even though if Naruto became stronger. I also think that Madara is still stronger than Kabuto because of what he said here: "If I fight you now, it will only make me weaker" so i'm inferring that Madara can beat him even with Kabuto's ace card against him but doesn't want to because he is about to start a war and wouldn't want to be weakened in the process. So it's not the sage of the 6 paths really because if it is, Madara wouldn't have the confidence to say that. The trump card of Kabuto must be a strong person that Madara can beat, but is also holding a very dark secret against Madara that's why he couldn't fight him. That's what I think.

Hiya guys, welcome to another week of Naruto manga. I was pretty pumped last week about seeing Naruto starting his Kyuubi control training with Killer Bee-sama, and I?m glad Kishi got to the important stuff right away in chapter 492. I have to admit, that despite all the corny rhymes, KB is becoming more and more of a loveable character as we get to see more sides of him. I for one can?t wait until we see some of his back story, how he was treated as a young Jinchuuriki and how he completed his mastery of his Bijuu.

For Naruto, KB is going to be a great ally in the future, but he is also going to be a new sensei figure in Naruto?s life. Even though Naruto has matured a great deal, particularly after fighting Pein, I feel that there still needs to be someone there to watch over Naruto?s shoulder to make sure his old rashness doesn?t get the better of him. I know he still has Yamato and Kakashi constantly watching over him, but I think Naruto needs someone to fill in the role Jiraiya had. Jiraiya was not only someone who Naruto respected because of his great power, but he was also able to closely bond to Jiraiya because they shared the same free spirited and a bit childish personalities. If we think about how KB is like, I think he could be an excellent new role model for Naruto to follow.

Naruto and KB?s first meeting outside his room was off to a good start with the bro-fist, but then it just became very? awkward. I think because Naruto was so used to having his Harem no Jutsu easily win people over to his side (hey, it worked brilliantly on Jiraiya) that KB?s cold shoulder reaction just made that scene 100% more hilarious. I mean, one second you?re talking to a guy and then *poof!* he turns into a dozen naked girls. If you ask me, KB just slamming the door in Naruto?s face was a totally natural reaction, lol. Naruto has to think of something else to impress KB on their next meeting, or else KB is just going to think he?s some loudmouthed kid with weird hobbies ? and that?s never a good impression to leave with other people.

Some readers have been commenting on the rhymes from KB, so I?ll say a little too. One thing everyone has to remember is that to directly translate puns and rhymes from one language to another is very difficult. As such, translators have to be pretty imaginative to come up with something even remotely close to what the original context. So no two translations will ever be the same, and this is pretty evident if you compare Sleepyfans and ***********?s versions of this chapter. Personally, I think *********** did a better job with the raps and rhymes so far, but I think it could still flow better. And if anybody has a better version of the rap in KB?s notebook on page 2, I?d love to hear it :p

There?s a few more minor points I?ll comment on but I?ll leave them in point form since they?re so short.
- Gai showing up on the boat was pretty surprising, although him getting seasick feels very natural. Funny how a guy who moves around so much during battle can?t handle the wobbling of a boat. I also think Kishi put Gai here to set up a rematch with Kisame when he shows himself.
- Speaking of Kisame, considering all the high level ninja on the island, I can?t believe nobody has clued in yet. And so much for the awesome barrier Kumogakure erected over the island, FAIL!
- Even though he just appeared this chapter, I want to see way more of Evil Naruto! It?s like if Naruto had Sasuke?s personality I can?t wait to see how Naruto will handle his doppleganger, but not as much as I want to hear Evil Naruto badmouth everyone in Konoha; I really hope he comments on Sakura, hahaha.

*EDIT* just a heads up, next week is a holiday in Japan so no Shonen Jump will be out, that means no Naruto 493 until the week after. Well, at least this chapter didn?t leave off on too bad of a cliffhanger.

Oh wow, this week?s Naruto came a little late didn?t it. We?re usually expecting a mid-Wednesday release from *********** but this week?s chapter didn?t show up until a few hours ago today (Thursday).
Well, no matter, the latest Naruto chapter is here now after a 2 week wait. So was it worth the long delay?? Wellllll?. honestly I wasn?t all that impressed or excited after reading 493.
After all the fast pacing and new plot surprises Kishi introduced in the last 4 or 5 chapters, you can really feel the steam running out in 493.
I think Kishi was just looking to put in a transitional chapter so he can start revealing Killer Bee?s back story, but I still think he could have done a better job keeping us entertained this week.

I was pretty excited after seeing Evil Naruto last week, but maybe I was anticipating a bit too much.
Although the ?evil clone? angle is pretty clich?d these days, you can actually do quite a bit with such a character particularly if the original character is someone who doesn?t really have any ?evil? qualities or any ?bad boy? characteristics.
It?s a chance to really let the reader experience something new and refreshing by showing them the dark side of their hero.
I know we?ve seen the evil side of Naruto through his Kyuubi transformations many times in the past but it was more like Kyuubi possessing Naruto then Naruto acting on his own accord.. But now we have a Evil Naruto who has a mind of his own and is able to communicate his, err.. ?evil? thoughts.

Even the best of the best have an evil side, I think that?s what Kishi is trying to show here, but I?m feeling that he didn?t work this angel as effectively as he could have in this chapter.
Naruto is human just like everyone else, and he too should have dark thoughts like everyone else.
There?s no way that after being ostracized by the entire village throughout his youth, Naruto would grow up with no taint inside his heart, especially considering he was an orphan to boot.
We?ve seen hints of that taint surfacing throughout the years, especially in situations where Naruto is enraged or is confronted by a person who has gone through the same ordeal; but in all those cases, Naruto suppressed those feelings and held his tongue. Evil Naruto?s appearance gave the opportunity for that taint to finally have a mouth to voice itself.
I wasn?t kidding last chapter when I said I wanted to see this doppelganger starting going to town badmouthing Konoha and some or Naruto?s so-called ?friends?. Sadly, Evil Naruto was less colloquial than I expected and instead resorted to a primitive fist fight with Naruto.

Yet even the fighting wasn?t all that exciting since the majority of the action happened off-screen. So overall, I felt the whole thing just kinda fell flat after the cliffhanger last chapter.
I?m not trying to promote Bleach or anything here, but so far the Ichigo vs. Hollow Ichigo encounter was handled way better compared to this.

But enough ranting about my disappointment. The other part of this chapter revolved around KB and talking about KB.
It seems the Hachibi is rooting for Naruto since he?s trying to convince KB to help the little guy out. But Naruto really seemed to have got on KB?s bad side when he dissed his rap, and I think transforming into naked girls in desperation just sealed the deal.
However, Naruto is now following the right approach by asking Motoi about KB?s past.
This never occurred to me before, but Motoi mentions that most Bijuu hosts are chosen from the spouses or close blood relatives of the five kages in order to maintain their loyalties; makes you wonder what the bloodlines of the other less known Jinchuuriki?s are like, doesn?t it? Not surprisingly, KB had a similar background to Naruto and Gaara while growing up, however I think he was slightly better off since he had the support of his brother who was also the Raikage.
In the end though, Naruto can redeem himself in KB?s eyes if he can build a bond with him by connecting through the mutual experiences they lived through growing up with a monster within.

I think next chapter should be pretty good as we get to peek into KB?s past and see some Hachibi rampage action. LMAO at young KB with the shades, either he?s really devoted to that style or he?s got an eye condition ;p

I know Sasuke fans have had nothing to go on for a few weeks

welcome to the chapter 494 discussions. Hate to say it, but I wasn?t that impressed by this week?s chapter either.
From the menacing image at the end of last chapter, I was expecting a much darker story about Killer Bee?s past in this chapter.
And while Motoi?s tale of his past with KB is tragic, we?ve seen this sort of story with other characters before, so it kind of dilutes the impact of Motoi?s story. I would have liked Kishi to span KB?s past a little longer, and maybe throw in Yugito Nii, Kumo?s other Jinchuuriki into the mix.
We hardly know anything about the Jinchuurikis besides Naruto and Gaara, so I think elaborating some more on the other characters? pasts would be a good idea.

In the end, I think Kishi just wanted to show us readers how similar KB?s situation is to Naruto?s. And since KB is a much higher level Jinchuuriki, Kishi is pretty much telling us this is the kind of power Naruto can obtain in the future.
I can understand Motoi?s feelings after hearing his story, but nonetheless it just wasn?t a very convincing setup. Maybe it?s because their situation is too similar to the one between Naruto and Sasuke, but Motoi?s hatred can?t possibly be compared to Sasuke?s intensity.
The only similarity between Motoi and Sasuke is that they both chose to seek revenge for their loved ones by attempting to murder a close friend ? only Motoi?s a total newb and can?t even stab someone in the back without screwing up.

I know I?ve been complaining a lot so far, it?s mainly because I feel that Kishi is rushing things a little too much in this story arc; this is okay during the transitional phase at the beginning, but I think we?re enough into this arc that he can slow down and stretch things out a little more, particularly if there are battles involved.
During the Sasuke-a-thon, even skirmishes between minor characters took up at least half a chapter or more, so I see no reason not to continue to do so in this story arc. Hopefully, Kishi is just pushing through at breakneck pace to bring us closer to the epic battles that will initiate Madara?s War.

To be fair, there were quite a lot of interesting stuff revealed in this chapter as well:
- I used to think Kyuubi?s attack on Konoha was a rare event to strike a village, but it looks like other villages like Kumogakure had their fair share of trouble dealing with rampaging Bijuu.
I used to wonder why the First gave what was essentially today?s equivalent of a nuke to each village if his dogma was to promote peace and pacifism, but with each village constantly wasting men and resources trying to tame their Bijuu, they wouldn?t be able to build up a sizeable military to threaten everyone else.
And because each feared the other villages would control their Bijuu before them, everyone was forced to stay in this game and waste resources experimenting and rebuilding instead of waging war. Heh, that Hashirama sure was a sly one ;p

- Check out the pictures of the Third Raikage, that guy looks like a total beast doesn?t he? I wonder if he is the father of the current Raikage and Killer Bee? I would have liked to see more of him in battle, maybe he?ll make a cameo in future flashbacks?
- Now we know Hachibi?s left horn was cut off by KB?s brother. I find it odd he doesn?t just grow it back since a Bijuu is composed of chakra only. Maybe it?s a memento?

- We get a glimpse of the previous host to the Hachibi. I can?t help but notice that his eye sockets are pitch black, perhaps even empty. Is this a side effect from the transference of the Hachibi? If so, this could explain why KB is wearing shades all the time ? he could even be blind (I think someone pointed this out already in the comments, can?t remember the name but credit goes to you, bud). Heh, maybe that?s why KB reminds me of a young Stevie Wonder.

Come on! Bee was wearing the shades even before he was a jinchuuriki.
