Your theory doesn't mean anything. You say I don't get it, but clearly you're confusing yourself. Zaraki's instinct does not cause him to oversee his zanpakuto's abilities. He never knew what they were in the first place. I may have quoted something 400 chapters ago, but everything written in a chapter is proof. It's not made up ****, and as long as it's not disproved, it still stands. Also just so you know, the writer is human. Don't you know people generalize things with "he" all the time? Something as small as that could have also been a mistake. Not saying you're wrong, but just because the writer had Zaraki call his zanpakuto a "he" doesn't mean squat and does not really help with your theory/argument because there is more proof of Zaraki not knowing anything.
A zanpakuto cannot act on its own. If that was true, shinigami would have been protected from fatal attacks so many times. Think of all the times Senbonzakura could have protected Byakuya. You also can't use Kyoraku's shikai as an example, because each of his shikai's abilities besides Bushōgoma, are games. Obviously he can't control them. I'm sure zanpakuto want to protect their wielder, but not in the way that they can act by themselves. Rather, they want to communicate with their respective owners and "lend" them power and grow stronger. Also, Ichigo's zanpakuto is always in shikai. And so? You don't see it protecting Ichigo by itself which it could have in so many situations.
You tell me to present proof that isn't outdated, but the evidence still stands. Whereas you have nothing going for you at all.:|
