So I am fighting alongside my ally and the enemy has got very powerful weapons. However my ally has a energy shield that can neg all of the enemies attacks and I also have the same ability but no one knows about it. So that ally creates the energy shield protecting me as well. So do you think its wise to waste my energy creating another energy shield when there is already one?

Well if he knew, he could've but Sasuke was already in the sky and he saw IT before Naruto and thus the first to react to it.

He didn't know madara used limbo to attack him and reacted to that. Even madara was surprised. So yes he could have reacted to it.

It's possible that TSB could block IT. It uses Rikudou chakra, similar to Sasuke's Rinnegan. However, Naruto has fairly weak TSB feats, and (as the OP points out) was not properly reacting to IT. Simply put, we will never be able b to confirm whether or not Naruto can, and the Manga gave that task/ability to Sasuke.

If Kishi had decided to allow Naruto to block it, it's very likely that he would have had Naruto use TSBs. It just seems like the logical counter. However, Genjutsu is Sasuke's thing, and it's cooler thematically to have Sasuke (Yin = Darkness) repel the evil light from IT. Finally, having Team 7 hide in Susano'o allows Kishi to show conversion between them, whereas it's pitch black (and cramped, most likely).

That's a good question but I think Naruto can take care of that with his RSM sensing abilities or he can use his clones to do the job for him.
