Didnt read the wall of text, but to personally answer your question. No, probably can't be considered a Naruto fan, I am a manga and anime fan, like in general, but I don't have a very good opinion of the Naruto series after the Pein arc. I have since gotten into a lot more anime I have much higher standards now :|

Afterall Naruto manga/series is not like a comic where every realities have its own universe(it called as 'earth'). Like Marvel cinematic universe for example;

It's not like such arguments and bashing are limited to what's canon and what's isn't. It's not limited to comics though.

They are two different mediums and many animes work this way- they do not follow the manga 100% because of practical reasons- sometimes they elaborate on points, that mangka wasn't able to cover in the manga, sometimes they edit part out if they are not allowed on Tv, etc. Or simply because they don't have any input from the original and write up their own stuff.

Beyblade original series had slightly different ending than the manga which showed the next gen. The anime is also slightly lighter than the manga version and changes small stuff here and there.

FMA had quite different story and very first episode of FMAB too is non canon and creates a plot hole in the story which doesn't exist in the manga.
