Lmao, so many dumb comments.

Itachi has far more Jutsu in his arsenal but you made some good points

I know but I felt like I only needed to cover his finger genjutsu, tsukiyomi, amataterasu, and susano'o. The rest of his arsenal isn't really a threat to Kisame.

He can if he is very lucky, I have stated this numerous times, but it all depends on who uses their best technique first. When and if Kisame uses water dome before Itachi uses one of the multiple one shot techniques he has, the fight is basically decided. Samehada cannot absorb Amaterasu, it is weak versus low level fire techniques.

This win would go to Itachi most of the time though, honestly, Kisame has no way to avoid Tsukiyomi if he does get hit and makes eye contact.

Kisame is a good fighter and I put him in my top 10-15.

Kisame knows not to look in Itachis eyes though.

Of course he can.

IF he traps itachi inside the water dome before Amaterasu/tsukuyomi then he wins.

Did you read my counter concerning Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi?

i would say yes maybe but he did admit itachi is the stronger of the 2

Yes he did.

Nice theory, as for your evidence.

The part about Samehada disturbing his chakra to release him from the Genjutsu is dead on and makes sense, but remember, Tsukuyomi lasts an instant and in that instant the target cycles through 72 hours. Even if Samehada could break Kisame out of the Genjutsu, it might be to late.

The part about Samehada having slight discomfort with a C-Rank Katon Technique was, again, dead on. But I don't think using the water technique to absorb Amaterasu would work, since Bee tried to use the water to douse the Amaterasu but it didn't work. Once again I am only pointing out flaws but I don't think it would work..

Finally, Sasuke using Susano'o against Danzo and his Wind summon, it showed air flow through the Susano'o so no doubt the Water Dome would drown him before Kisame needs to draw chakra. As much as I hate it, but Kisame has the upper hand in this part of the fight.

Again, good points and I hope my input helps.

Thanks! I wasn't implying that Samehada would break Kisame out of Tsukiyomi, but simply any regular genjutsu, such as the finger one. Only a Uchiha with the same blood type (Sasuke) can break out of Tsukiyomi. My counter for it was, that Kisame understands he needs to avoid eye contact shown in the scan provided in the OP.

The water Bee was in, didn't extingiush the flames because it was an ordinary lake. The water forming Daikodan absorbs chakra, major difference.

Yea i said this a long long long time ago and its true Kisame with samdha is a bad match up for Itachi. It is very possible for him to win even though he said Itachi is stronger than him. This statement does not have to apply to them versus each other bcuz matchups play a big role in Naruto this could imply that on a given day Itachi is capable of beating more people than kisame can in that case itachi is stronger but in a match against each other kisame could still win. Prob why he is his partner (Checks and balances). Just my opinion

Itachi is the stronger of the two, that said Kisame will give Itachi a hell of a fight. his clones will make genjutsu tricky, and samehada can both snap him out of regular genjutsu and probably heal him from tsukuyomi (the guy's the most durable person in the series, he can most likely tank it to some extent). his environment changing techniques make it tricky for itachi to cope apart from susanoo as well, and as he's a chakra stealer that makes him even more of a bad match for itachi. on the other hand, if itachi lands a full blown amaterasu on kisame, unless it's a clone he's had it (i don't think samehada would be willing to go that far as to eat amaterasu to save kisame). if it only hits a random bodypart he can simply cut it off like ay though, and samehada will regenerate it.

I 100% agree

Read my counter for Amaterasu. Kisame doesn't need to use Samehada.

I guess you didn't see the keyword if, Besides you can never guarantee not making eye contact in a fight.

In this case, it is just like Kakashi vs Guy. Itachi and Kisame are evenly matched rivals. They would sometime equal out just like Kakashi vs. Guy. But Kisame approved that Itachi is stronger. And people tell that The Samehada can devour chakra and jutsu made out of it. But in the case of Ameterasu, the flames burns away everything in it's way even fire itself. Which makes Itachi Stronger than Kisame

LOL Kisame would never win against Itachi, there is A four more stronger Akatsuki than Kisame :

1)Tobi
2)Pein
3)Uchiha Itachi
4)Aakasuna No Sasori

They all can rape Kisame.

no as kisame stated himself that jiriya was on a whole another level compared to him, and that he was sure itachi could take him on

Oh yeah? Then counter my points then. And Lmao @ Sasori raping Kisame.

Good God...instead of stating no, counter my points. That was part 1 and nothing suggests that Kisame even knew much about Jiraiya other then he is one of the legendary sannin.

Yeap , i think so :p

Good shit.

Sasori raping Kisame, ur just overrating Kisame, Sasori counters Kisame, he don't need to breath so he can move underwater no problems, he ca posion the water, he can use Iron Sand in the water, one shot from Sasori and he's dead.

I guess you didn't see the keyword if, Besides you can never guarantee not making eye contact in a fight.

Kisame has little to fear from Itachi's genjutsu, to be brutally honest. Tsukyomi is a powerful, near unbreakable genjutsu that applis massive amounts of stress on the victims mind and attempts to break their will which would result in a coma like case afterwards. Kisame can take it, he'd be worn out, but he can take it. The man was willing to let his sharks rip him apart to protect intel.

I think his will won't be overly broken by the powerful genjutsu. Not to mention it's a relatively close range genjutsu, the second it stops, Itachi is within chakra-stealing range of Samehada. Itachi won't be using any ninjutsu on Kisame while he's interlocked in the genjutsu either. It seems quite obvious that it takes a considerable amount of concentration with this Genjutsu.

Genjutsu like Izanami won't be effective against an opponent who knows who they are, Kisame has no doubts. His resolve is unbreakable.

So, in short. Genjutsu will only be marginally effective against Kisame. Something to knock Kisame off of his game/groove for a few seconds. And other potentially powerful, binding genjutsu would be broken by Samehada's ability to both take and send chakra into its owner.

That's all I have to say on the subject of Genjutsu.

OT: I believe it was yesterday I stated a few reasons why Kisame has the ability to defeat Itachi. I'd still hold onto the truth that Itachi's superior intellect would give him the edge and would force Itachi to improvise a bit, throwing Kisame through a loop. By that I mean, Kisame will be confused when he sees Itachi fighting in an unusual style or pattern.

I've already countered Genjutsu well enough, I believe.

Amaterasu would without a doubt be countered by Samehada. Though Samehada would retain for what could be the rest of the fight, and if Itachi were to send powerful Katon attacks at the sword. . I fear for its safety. But, Kisame is the most powerful Suiton user shown to us. I'm sure he will be able to counter a katon jutsu before it could possibly take out Samehada.

And I don't think I have to go into Samehada's regeneration ability here. Itachi lacks the significant amount of chakra, by the time he uses Amaterasu, to completely heal Samehada.

But, since yesterday when I argued this I stated Kisame would be able to use Samehada post-Amaterasu's use. I think I'd like to do this a bit differently. Supposing that Samehada is defeated, most people assume Kisame will be quick to follow.

Not true. is a more than powerful enough ninjutsu to take out nearly anything Itachi has. Susano'o is debatable but we must assume Yata Mirror will somehow protect Itachi from the attack. If he gets it up in time.

Not only that, but the 100 shark bullet attack is another easy and jutsu Kisame has shown without the chakra-absorbing sword. Even without Samehada Kisame can last against Itachi, is my basic point. Unless Itachi is ballsy and uses Amaterasu a second time, then Kisame would be in a lick of trouble.

But, as I mentioned earlier. I believe Itachi would win this with a mix of Susano'o and its spiritual weapons, a subtle enough genjutsu on Kisame. Which he could pull off, Danzo himself credited Itachi's ability to manipulate genjutsu. And specifically aiming for Samehada during this fight. Taking out that sword is the most certain victory for Itachi.

And I nearly forgot, Susano'o may not be able to be absorbed. The Preta Path's sphere of chakra absorption couldn't take any chakra from it. And the Preta Path has been shown to be equal to, or around Samehada when it comes to absorbing chakra.

In short: Kisame can technically beat Itachi, yes. Add in the human factor and element? Itachi gets a few more extra points that will more then likely allow him to come out on top. Not to say Kisame isn't smart, he's one of the most perceptive shinobi out there. Which would come in handy when it comes to picking up on Genjutsu.

But Itachi was capable of predicting that Kabuto had gained Orochimaru's chakra, and acquired Sage Mode. It's obvious that he takes nearly all situations that go with a battle and considers a way to get around his foe from each one.

Good points, but Itachi's Susanoo with its defensive and offensive capabilities is just too great an advantage.

It might seem odd. . But I was saying that his Susano'o combined with the ability to quickly determine and formulate plans would likely take down Kisame once the battle reaches the climax, when either Water Dome is out, Great Shark Missile is used, or another high end jutsu.
