Let me start by saying, Itachi is one of my favorite characters, and i'm simply giving my unbiased opinion on the possibility that Kisame can very well defeat the legendary Itachi Uchiha.

While facing Itachi, one will be faced with 3 major threats. That being: Tsukiyomi, Amaterasu, and Susano'o.
I will state how Kisame deals with each of them and quite possibly pull off a win.

Tsukiyomi

The chances of Kisame getting caught in Tsukiyomi aren't very likely. In order to avoid any type of visual genjutsu, eye contact must be avoided at all times. Not only will Kisame be keeping his distance from Itachi, but he also knows , thus making this mistake very improbable.

In the event Kisame gets caught in Itachi's finger genjutsu, Samehada can simply break him out by transmitting chakra into Kisame which will disturb his chakra flow.

Amaterasu

Amaterasu would be a major problem if Kisame didn't have a way of absorbing it. Fortunately for him, he does.

  • Samehada

As we all know, Samehada absorbs chakra, which is explained Thus allowing anything made out of chakra to be absorbed, including Amaterasu. Where the problem lies, is not can Amaterasu be absorbed, but will Samehada absorb it? Considering Samehadas after absorbing a simple C-Rank Katon, will Samehada be willing to eat something even hotter? Despite his distaste for it? That is something neither I or you can prove or disprove. However, there is a better way for Kisame going about dealing with Amaterasu.

  • Daikōdan

Great Shark Bullet is a massive suiton technique able to . In the scenario that Kisame get's hit with Amaterasu, Kisame can simply use Daikōdan on himself, , and merge with it like he did with an ordinary shark bomb [ ] Not only does this rid the ever lasting Amaterasu flames, but allows Kisame to blitz Itachi, ultimately resulting in Itachi being forced to throw up his full susano'o with yata mirror.

Susano'o

Susano'o being made of pure chakra would typically be an easy counter for Kisame. However, not in this case as this susano'o is wielding the impenetrable Yata Mirror that will simply null Daikodan or any ninjutsu thrown at it. The only way for Kisame to combat a susano'o wielding the legendary Totsuka Blade and Yata Mirror, would be throwing up a Water Dome.

As soon as Itachi is captured within the massive dome of water and Kisame fuses with Samehada, the fight is practically over. Kisamehada will be , in which Itachi can't afford to lose as he cannot hold up his Susano'o for very long. It won't take very long for Itachi's susano'o to drop, and when it does, Game Over.

He can if he is very lucky, I have stated this numerous times, but it all depends on who uses their best technique first. When and if Kisame uses water dome before Itachi uses one of the multiple one shot techniques he has, the fight is basically decided. Samehada cannot absorb Amaterasu, it is weak versus low level fire techniques.

This win would go to Itachi most of the time though, honestly, Kisame has no way to avoid Tsukiyomi if he does get hit and makes eye contact.

Kisame is a good fighter and I put him in my top 10-15.

Oh good grief. Naruto base was being nice today, not even a single Itachi or Minato thread on sight. Thanks for ruining it. T_T

Of course he can.

IF he traps itachi inside the water dome before Amaterasu/tsukuyomi then he wins.

After Itachi uses tsukuyomi it takes a great toll on his body and eye which he isn't able to heal. Kisame has Samehada which can be used to restore his strength.

This
I think itachi and kisame were a good team cuz kisame can pick up where itachi lacks tht is stamina and chakra reserves

Kisame has a lot of chances beating an alive itachi just because It was stated tht itachi is stronger of the two (little margin) doesn't mean itachi would win everytime

Obviously you have no clue of Tsukiyomi's ability. By the way, Itachi has used Tsukiyomi in multiple fights and kept going, not only that but do you really believe Itachi will just sit there while Kisame gets healed? Bad point my friend.

I already said this fight goes to the person who pulls off their best technique first.
Meaning both Kisame and Itachi can win and lose. However, Itachi wins most of the time.

No he can't win against Itachi,,,but he is one of the hard opnt to deal with for Itachi...........Dnt over estimate him just because of his fight with Bee,bee would have win if that fight had continued b/w them,,,,,,,,

Nice theory, as for your evidence.

The part about Samehada disturbing his chakra to release him from the Genjutsu is dead on and makes sense, but remember, Tsukuyomi lasts an instant and in that instant the target cycles through 72 hours. Even if Samehada could break Kisame out of the Genjutsu, it might be to late.

The part about Samehada having slight discomfort with a C-Rank Katon Technique was, again, dead on. But I don't think using the water technique to absorb Amaterasu would work, since Bee tried to use the water to douse the Amaterasu but it didn't work. Once again I am only pointing out flaws but I don't think it would work..

Finally, Sasuke using Susano'o against Danzo and his Wind summon, it showed air flow through the Susano'o so no doubt the Water Dome would drown him before Kisame needs to draw chakra. As much as I hate it, but Kisame has the upper hand in this part of the fight.

Again, good points and I hope my input helps.

Co-sigs i think it was on 1 of the naruto games, thus making this tread useless
