the ninetails is pretty fast despise his size,(quote from wikia to back me up "Naruto also noted that it was extremely fast despite its massive size"), he could possibly dodge amaterasu , but if not , then yea amaterasu or simply controlling it should take it down

amerterasu is not caching the nine tails the nine tails is too fast for that jutsu and itachi may be a skilled ms genjutsu user but i don't think he can control something like the kyubbi will, tobi only controlled it because his genjutsu are better than itachi his lasts for days and his chakra is sinister near to the sinister sides of tailed beast..

Ummmmm... I don't see why the tailed beasts aren't killable. They don't possess infinite chakra and one dies when they have no chakra. We have seen that tailed beast can get damaged, so what do you think would happen if a tailed beast were amaterasued? Would it just continue to burn, turn to ash, yet still be alive?

Yet when madara controlled it, he only had a three-tomoe sharingan. If you actually find me a scan that says that one of the abilities of the mangekyou is to control the ninetailed fox then I will refute my statement.

The 9T could probably create a cloak of some description of its own chakra negating amaretasu. Just a theory but I don't see how 1 technique can beat the 9T...its like saying amaretasu would beat the Juubi.

I know it sounds crazy and if it actually happened in the manga, I'm pretty sure kishi would give the ninetails an ability to combat amaterasu, but until that time comes we have to go by what is known, and we know that if sasuke didn't extinguish amaterasu off of the hachibi, he would have died.

itachi doesn't have the sinister chakra to control something as hateful as the ninetails even it's yang side(the good one) is still sinister so yin and yang combine wiht it's full hatred is not something that itachi can just control.
tobi can control because his chakra is very cold he gets delight from seeing people go to the darknesslike sasuke when he asked himto despose karin.

Ahh don't forget that Nagato repelled amaterasu from his body with devine push, extinguishing the flames. The only known MS user to control the Kyuubi is Madara, however him and his brother were the only ones to have possessed MS before Itachi and Shisui. Soooo... But if thats wht the tablet says, and that s**ts ancient, then yeah, I guess it can.
Anyway, back to my point, the Kyuubi could release a chakra wave, that could possibly repell or extinguish Amaterasu, but it wouldn't get to that point, since he could just control him. Oh and Shisui was the best genjutsu caster, his tsukyomi had to be sick... If he had tsukyomi as an ability.

Actually, come to think of it, the battle would end in a draw. Itachi would amaterasu the ninetails, and the ninetails would launch a gamabunta-sized tailed beast bomb at itachi. Itachi would be oblitterated, and the ninetailed fox would continue to burn until dead, or until seven days are up.
