Can Itachi defeat Konoha like Nagato?

Let's say he and Itachi's duties were switched and Pain (Tobi) sent him to retrieve the 9-tailed Fox. Would he have challenged Konoha like Nagato did and destroy the village?

Situation: He is given the same advantage Nagato did via surprise attack the village and Kisame can help him.

Itachi is healthy enough to fight until he loses or defeats the Kyubi.

Nagato had a massive advantage that nobody knew what he could do. There are ninja in Konoha that know Itachi's skill set. In fact Danzo probly would have gotten involved if he had. Plus Nagato had godlike force to do heavy damage as well as an army. Itachi would have been destroyed. hence why he ran when he showed up in part 1

I basically gave Itachi full health until he loses or wins against Naruto Kyubi.

Also, Itachi can only face the enemies Deva Path fought!!

The rest I believe can be defeated by Kisame, rather easily.

Also, Gai wasn't in the village during it's destruction, he came after I believe.

Hell no even with kisame they would be forced to retreat in no time. konoha is well aware of kisame and itachi's ability's because kakashi has fought itachi twice and guy fought kisame twice. Why pain was so successful in owning konoha was because they had barely any knowledge on his ability's/it was a sneak attack and on top of that he is incredibly powerful.

I'm giving Itachi the same advantage Pain has, meaning they would have no clue about Itachi and Kisame's abilities, although they know one is from the Uchiha Clan and one is from the Legendary Swordsman of the Mist.

It would be unfair if Itachi didn't have this advantage..

I think Konoha would be defeated rather quickly if you ask me, especially without Gai, but who knows because a lot of the good fighters were trying to figure out who Pain was and where he was.

The only people Itachi will face is Kakashi (Defeat, low difficulty) and Naruto (Defeat, high difficulty).

I believe Kisame is strong enough to defeat the rest of the Shinobi the other Paths fought.

Noone could harm him because of his Yata mirror and he'd amaterasu the whole village and destroy most of it but not as easily as Nagato and couldnt destroy it to that extent but note that Nagato used 6 paths so they could do damage at 6 different places .

no nagato took on the village if you want to make a thread that is itaschi v kakashi and sm naruto do so but nagato and his paths took pout the village of course the hyuga were out of town and so was gai and lee but other than that they were all there and fought against the pains witch is nagato and itachi isnt doing that shit sorry but like i said if you want to handicap the fight go ahead yea itachi eats kakashi and sage mode naruto ...but not the village
