A family is in mourning after an accident in a playground left their 10-year-old dead.

Codey Porter of Everett, Washington, a suburb of Seattle, died on Saturday after friends buried him in a sandbox, according to The Seattle Post Intelligencer. The boys were apparently imitating the popular anime show Naruto.

The children were allegedly reenacting one of the show's character's special attacks, where the target is enveloped in sand. Though the boy thrashed around when he couldn't breathe, his friends apparently thought he was joking and didn't pull him out until damage had already been done. He died later in a hospital, surrounded by his family.

Though the incident seems like a perfect lightning rod for watchdog groups to curse Naruto and call for its end, the general consensus is the death is simply the result of a tragic accident.

Parents' fault..*sigh*..good thing most of us here realizes that...Hopefully, we wont make the same mistakes when we become parents ourselves...

The blame should land on kinda all sides. The kids should no that is something is done on a show where people, even kids regularly die, then they shouldn't do it.

Also, the parents of the world should moniter what their kids do and watch, not blame the creator who intended the show to be for more mature audiences, instead of shifting the blame.

Also, kishi might wanna put a warning for violent content at the start of the anime(there is already a warning in the manga in case you don't know)

The blame rest on both sides. The parents and the children. Come on the name of the jutsu is sand burial, gaara has killed people in the anime with this move! And your first thought is I'm going to try that (Serious Face)!! I was 10 years old once I wasn't a genius but come on I knew better than to do most of the things I see on Tv. Really where were the parents they were at the park that's not to wise of them to leave their children alone in a public place. If this continues next time we will hear of someone dieing from a rasengan to the face or chidori to the heart, which is really safe as you see in the show where the people die from it (Sarcasm). Sadly more hatred is being brought into this world. We need a Naruto now more than ever. Find the peace.....

People have kids to "have" kids, and cross the idea off a bucket list. They don't teach them respect, kindness, or social behavior towards others....

teachers end up with that job, and teachers aren't babysitters for dumb parents!!!
