This new manga is literally going to be a Fairy Tail 2.0.
99% main cast Focus 1% side characters. No wonder Boruto's development is on Fire. He's the only one the manga's focused on in 16 chapters.

Woulda said bleach or DBZ tbh. In fairy tail they all got powerups just Natsu and Erza above everyone else. While bleach if you're not Ichigo you're lame af tho the final trash arc did finally give some powerups but no development.

I don't think that's completely accurate. The past 10 chapters were a rehash of the Boruto Movie, but the entirety of the continuation stems from the Naruto Gaiden, Boruto Movie, and the Mitsuki Gaiden.

In Kishimoto's version of the Movie, Boruto's the only who got development, as per the other focus arcs for such said other main characters. In Ukyo's Version, Team Shinki and Team Moegi were both given extra dialogue and Shinki himself was changed at the end of the Movie via Gaara's speech.

The Mujina Arc focused on Tentou and his development, it introduced Sasuke's occupation and his role since the Otsutuski threat was completed. And the current arc isn't really focusing on any character in particular, but the last chapter indicates that Konohamaru is going to meet with Kara by himself.

Granted I think Boruto compared to Sarada and Mitsuki needed more screen time since he's the only one who actually changed his personality. Both Sarada/Mitsuki were pretty much the same people in their story, but got goals. Boruto not only got a goal, but he had to change everything about his mentality.

The story would be weak without it IMO. You can't expect side characters getting focus in a story that just started to introduce it's plot. But even that, a random ass side character like Tentou received character development in the span of a side arc.

It's too early to state that the story isn't going to give out develop to more than it's main cast. What do you think?

How you gonna say that when he's the only one that got development so far. Then say barring Shinki who shown nothing to even be relevant.

Shinki has iron sand which means he has magnet release. He also uses it in conjunction with puppet jutsu which means he has enough talent to control his puppet while simultaneously using and maintaining magnet release. There's a prodigious amount of skill involved in that. He only showcased a few of his skills in the movie but he did ace all his chuunin exams like neg diff. And boruto is impressive because having multiple elements is a jonin level feat. Even if he is the only one getting developed atm he still craps on most of the old gen when they were chuunin since he taught himself 3 natures. Even sasuke only learned two. Just my opinion but the potential of those 2 are phenomenal.

Eh, I dunno. From the Tentou arc it wasn't like he did anything special from the start, Sarada was the one shining in Chapter 11. As she actually took down the most bandits. After that it was really just about Boruto and Tentou growing a bond and training. Boruto got his first official fight, but it was kind of meh.

Personally IDK about comparing a weekly series to a monthly series. But Boruto after Chapter 14, stated that it was the end of the prologue. Not sure about Naruto/Naruto shippuden when the prologued ended, more so since Shippuden doesn't exist Manga wise and it's just an extension of Naruto itself.

Yes but that's all potential which he need development for which he doesn't have as yet so he's in the same boat as Sarada Mitsuki etc.

Tbh even with 3 elements Sasuke Naruto Neji Gaara Lee would mess Boruto up.

Iirc those chakra natures came naturally to him he never use to train when he noticed he knew those elements.

But at least in DB and Bleach majority of the side characters were OP asf, Boruto manga is a disappointment so far, Naruto's son is the only one whose power we get to see grow step by step. Sarada is getting OP but even she only had one scene that properly showcased her growth.


Boruto's character so far is just an excuse for the makers to re-create part 1 Naruto's image, "oh let's give him Rasengan and shadow clone", feats that aren't really impressive when Konohamaru didn't have difficulty learning it. It feels like they're doing this because they don't want the new gen shinobi with solid potential to outclass the MC.



Mitsuki, Sarada, Metal Lee, Mini Shikamaru, they were all made with the idea of making them hybrids of their parents. They should have feats that are more original and more impressive than a blue glowing ball.

He used water and lighting release as a combo jutsu. Much better than punching the ground.
