Because if you look at it, what other reason could he have in retrieving and combining the tailed beasts to form the Juubi (Kaguya) other than this? Because considering the powers he has, Kurama is essentially a very very lame addition, there is possibly nothing he could get from Kurama other than him being a part of Kaguya's reincarnation to attain her powers and combine with his own to revive the true Shinju's powers. This also explains why Kaguya feared him and resented his ambitions and was preparing an army.

On his character sheet info. It said he's gathering chakra across the world so i'm guessing he somehow sensed that kurama has the largest reserves and wants to get him because of that. I'm guessing kaguya has the seed to make another god tree? idk about that part.

The greater the hate the greater the power..lol uchiha..lol also being the strongest of the nine an seem to have hagamoro like features..of power..cloak etc..
