I think more so for his friends than just Boruto. Like Iwabe, Sumire, and Denki (and a few others). You can physically see that they are different from the Academy Arc.
However in Boruto's case, while I do think he learned a lesson (and that it was nice to see him take Kakashi's words to heart). I think that they moved a bit too fast since he obviously didn't really learn much. In the sense that Kakashi warned him his resolve isn't strong enough to make him a real ninja.
In this case I feel like they failed Boruto, because he's walking out of graduation still having a weak resolve, and still believing strongly in friendship.
Granted though it'll setup the Movie events where he really gets fleshed out, but they definitely need a few more focus episodes to get us there.
I'm in a strong belief that Boruto will probably end up getting saved by his friends in the end too.
> He does something bad
> In the end "you were myyyyyyy friend" GROUP TNJ
Yeah I agree 100%. Group tnj was pretty effective in this instance, everyone got their motivation to keep on fighting even if only one of them can get the bell. Besides that you know how Kakashi rolls, as long as you fight for your friends you can become a ninja.
