best basic element for rasengan

I really don't get it.... Rasenga is a wind element type. So how could you expect any other element to be the base for it? I could be wrong. I don't know too much about all the jutsus and techs. Not being a smart a** just asking.

I know that tons of people are going to correct you but just in case they don't I will as well.

Rasengan is not an elemental attack in any way. It is chakra being swirled around in all directions. It is the highest form of chakra shape manipulation in a jutsu. Minato intended to combine it with his element but was unable to before he died.

Adding wind to it makes it the rasenshuriken.


On thread, I think wind is the best for the rasengan, but I also think that it would be cool if Naruto learned all of the elements and had a five sided rasenshuriken with each point having an elemental attack and the center being a maelstrom of all five combined.

No, a rock is too solid to rotate the way a Rasengan rotates, all the other elements aren't as dense as a rock, so it's easy to picture those. It can't just look like a rock because if you look at the way a Rasengan rotates, tell me how a rock can do that?

If there was an earth Rasengan, I'd imagine it'd look something along the lines of a bunch of rocks, or pebbles rotating really fast orbiting a dusty Raengan

That would be awesome, and I think it could work. If naruto had the fire element he could use his wind affinity to help start the flame and make it bigger at will. O__O

Eh, I wasn't really trying to be technical about it. That's just my way of saying it wouldn't look cool. But on second thought I think Kishi would do it justice, I can imagine it looking something like saturn but with more rings.
