these past couple weeks I have found that being a girl can be very hard and complicated. I realize that guys have some of the same problems but I dont think they think about it or let certain things bother them as much as girls do. For instence- I have a hip problem going on and had to see this young doc and he made me very self consious about myself and my weight. I am an athlete and I am 5 7" (147lbs) and while I know I am not perfect I know I am not fat. But I do have to admit that when I go and get something to eat I can't help but think about the way he looked at me or when he answered my question about my weight being a healthy weight for my life style. If you are wondering he told me that I am healthy but am definetly not the smallest girl in the world:flaw:. Of course Im not tiny I play at a college level and have to go through training for it( this guy is really skinny and small btw)! Im just writing this because yes in some sense I am now more self consious about myself and hope that everyone out there watches what they say to girls- cuz there are a lot of girls that starve themselves cuz of what people say.U_U
Wow. Let me nicely point out some common things here.
First off, this has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with being a girl. This is your personal problem - you and the rest of the goddamn society being so uppity concerned about looks and power and money. But I don't exactly blame everything on females - after all, they're the play joke for males and especially in society nowadays, tend to play a much more "seductive" role in many aspects of the world.
Now, I tend to be rather neutral when it comes to genders. All of us act the same in the way that we all are selfish, and naturally do everything for ourselves, including the major problems of greed and power.
There shouldn't be such statements as "you act like a guy/girl" or "you're a tomboy" because there is simply no set definitions for either gender's personality and whatever is used is only stereotypical definitions set by the society.
I looked through this whole thread, and a lot of people are saying that being a female is easier than a male. I agree, to an extent, to this statement.
Females tend to judge more on appearance, and are, stereotypically speaking, more emotional, since they've been brought up since they were young to act like that. I simply...despise that. In fact, I can't tell you how much I hate how teenage females act nowadays - a bunch of meaningless people who walk around checking one another and guys out, forever spitting out the most worthless shit I can hear. Let's put it another way - I hate the stereotypical teenage female. I mean, honestly? In like fifty years or so, you wouldn't even give shit about your looks. As long as you are healthy now, there shouldn't be a problem with anything. Stop doing things just so you can gain friends and more benefits in accordance to your looks. Guys, too.
Males on the other hand tend not to judge so much on looks. At least, not as much as females do. They simply accept, for the most part. And even if they are judgmental, I'd doubt they go around screaming "I love you" in the most meaningless manner, put "<3" in like every place possible, and think everything is cute just so they can have this "cute" outlook. Thank you, but I prefer video game talk to "hot guys" talks. I'd rather be more rational than completely fake in everything I do.
The only problem would be here, is that guys have an advantage over girls when it comes to harassment - doesn't matter in a sexual or violent manner. But oh well. Sucks for girls being weak anyways.
Simple Conclusion: People need to stop being so self-conscious, since no one cares and it's a shit-dam society who judges too much. Especially gals.
Why would you be negatively affected by anything? If it isn't true, then fine, who cares, you shouldn't be bothered by it. However you're bothered by it which leads me to believe you are ashamed of yourself, and why would you be ashamed of something that isn't true? My point is, ignore it if isn't true, and if it is and you are ashamed, change something. Happiness could be just a change away.
*applauds* Simple truth and rational reasoning.
