Currently? After situation with Sakura I would say - why the hell not? That was high-level speed. Besides, just becuase Asuma and Kakashi have the same stat doesnt mean that they are just as fast. Gai and Kisame have same stat in stamina, yet Kisames chakra was several times bigger than Gais.
Honestly, Asuma didnt display nothing impressive. I would put base Naruto with bunch of clones with bigass Rasengans over him any day.

Currently, no.Naruto speed hasn't been shown near the level of Kakashi.The only instant you can even bring up is when naruto save Sakura.An instant where naruto was shown running in sage mode before he even got to sakura.As for Asuma speed, go back to part one when he took out those 9 sound shinobi.Now show me where naruto has shown a similar feat with speed.
Sasuke destroy naruto clones with ease in part one with a genin level fire release jutsu.Ebisu took them on with ease in part one as well.Naruto clones aren't anything special.Even in part two,naruto's clones disappear with the slightest punch or attack from a decent jutsu.Asuma fire release jutsu could take Naruto's clone out easy.Rasengan is useless unless you can get close to an opponent.Case in point, Naruto couldn't do anything to stop Diedara because he lack any long range jutsu.Base Naruto arsenal isn't enough to take on nearly any of the jonin we have seen because he limited to close range combat.Anyone with mid to long range jutsu could take base naruto.Again, whether you are inpress with Asuma or not, Asuma has a better variety of jutsus.
