[Suggestion] Base Contests: Singing?

Well wouldn't this apply to EVERYTHING? Like why would people participate in writing fanfiction if it leads to nasty reviews?

You do have a point, but it will still lead to cyber bullying, or others backbiting, especially on skype. Lots of NB members tend to backbite on skype.

Not many people would be willing to participate. Also this is the internet and people can be pretty harsh to those who submitted.

Plus it was suggested more than once before, and it was never even taken into consideration.

Even though the idea may seem nice overall, I don't think this can be implemented at all since there are too many problems. One may wish not to reveal his face and just sing on the mic and then upload it here. But what if that person was not the actual person who registered in this community? He/she might have made his/her friend to sing and there is no possible way of knowing on who exactly sung it. This alone may not allow the Singing Contest to be held here.

why not a self-multimedia/art/thingy/dunowhattocallit kinda of contest. Not just singing, but acting, dancing and so on. I for one can't sing, but i'm really good at acting out specific scenes and roles.

^ This could be broadened to even just a funny user man video, not necessarily just like them doing something stupid, but something cool like a double front flip in to throwing a basketball against the wall and the ball landing in their neighbor's hoop.

One way is to add a part either in the song shouting out to narutobase, or to actually film themselves (though no one will do that)

Good idea, just see so many ways of people tryna cheat, especially if they know how to manipulate voice.

Regarding participation, why not make it yearly instead of monthly? That means there's more time to prepare and it's less of a hassle to sort through everything. Plagiarism can be countered with stating the purpose of the cover (for Narutobase) and perhaps the username of the singer. Gendou used to do gendou idol when I was younger and this was pretty much how they did things. I think everything went fine for them... Then again Gendou's a music site.

That would just kinda be hard to pull off in my opinion O_O. I might be wrong but eh, it is quite easy to cheat in such a contest due to autotune and to actually manage to record something you would have to have proper equipment as for that to sound any good without background noise, no? Plus, someone could easily take someone elses work as their own due to amount of people actually recording something as to try and manage as singers.

It might ''sound'' good on paper however I don't think such a contest would work out. The closest think to singing or something like that that I believe should work out would be poetry contest but even that is debatable.

most of the no's are of the reason if members are willing to show themselves..
there are many ways by which one can submit audio without showing yourself
like the sound cloud feature or using audio and using a picture of anything related to song and uploading to YouTube...

I don't see this having enough support and a fanbase that really would make it an active contest. Constests suffer from activity a lot. What seems a good idea that gets people going can easily turn into an empty contest soon after. I don't see the base as having tons of people that would enter this contest. In fact, I see only one...the maker of this thread.

Even if we bypass the above, we still need to tackle questions like: how can we be sure its you singing and not someone else? would it be a voting contest? a panel? would the songs be picked by the person or by the host of the contest? etc etc.

Overal, I don't see this as a viable option but I'll still pass it on to the admins. Until then you can post your videos in the appropriate section (Music section).
