what a terrible piece of garbage.
infantile dialogue with constant attempts at humour even when completely inappropriate
out of character behaviour (thor seemed to regress to how he was at the start of his movie and same with tony). everyone seemed to be petulant teenagers always fighting amongst themselves for seemingly no reason.
waay powered down characters. remember how thor basically solo'd hundreds of frost giants? apparently one guy in a suit can get the best of him.
unexplained plot devices and nonsensical crap, like hulk suddenly abel to control himself.
pathetic villain defeat and motivation. loki was great in thor and horrible in avengers. he seemed like he couldnt do anything without his precious army and got stomped by hulk in a ridiculous cartoonish way
overlong, overhyped, overblown tripe. i couldnt believe i was looking at my watch while the big fight with the army happened. we were led to believe this was most of the movie but it went by so fast and was cartoonish.
none of the other movies were this comedic and forced. thor was serious. captain america was serious. i got tired of downy jr's "witty banter" in iron man 1. hes supposed to have wised up by now and become more serious.
and plus the story felt forced and things went nowhere. who was this army? where did they come from? why do they want to rule earth? why would they follow loki if they are so strong? why were they beaten so easily, so much so that black widow was fighting on par with them but thor seemed to be doing no better than her?
why did they introduce fury becoming bad and building nukes and shit if it went nowhere? did the writers just forget?
its called avengers but it should be called iron man 3 starring iron man and nick fury. no one else was in this movie. they just stood around occasionally swinging a hammer or a shield.
hawkeye being temporarily evil was a waste of time and completely pointless if he was healed from it by just getting hit on the head. i literally shouted wtf at that one.
whats the point of having thor there if hes barely any more special or powerful than iron man, a normal human? comics wise he is by far the strongest. and it would look pretty clownish to have comic thor being treated as hawkeyes equal.
did they ever explain how loki survived his fall? was the MAIN VILLAIN's story not important to these writers?
why did hawkeye seem to have unlimited arrows? was he pulling them out of his ass?
all the fights sucked. would it kill them to hold the camera still? remember how in incredible hulk we saw pretty much all of hulk vs abomination? that was a great fight because we saw it all. and because we were emotionally invested due to the whole fight being a leadup to that. but there was no leadup to hulk stomping on loki and no leadup to nameless goons doing no better vs a human girl than they do against a norse god. it got insulting after a while to watch this pig slop. only reason i ddint walk out is i didnt want to waste my money.

only good parts were the music, loki's crazy smile at the beginning, and mark ruffalo not being horrible.

It was average at most to me. It did piss me off when Hulk could suddenly control his power without any explanation. You're right it was too comedic. Sometimes I like Comedy in Superhero Movies, but this seemed less serious and I had to wonder whether I was watching the same film as everyone else. It did go pretty fast

the move wasn't intended for a story or for a plot, but it was intended for to have the best visual aspects and for the epic moves. I agree on the thor part but then what? the villains would of lasted a second if they would of made thor that strong like he is. I agree about the villains were defeated so easily like like iron man 2. It did suck on the story/plot part but on the visual aspects and the crazy and epic situations like hulk punching that giant monster having it do a summersault, that was crazy and that's what you call an epic moment.

I've heard good things of it and one of the sites I check my ratings give it a 8.8/10. I will have to see it for myself before judging anything.

What are you talking about? The movie didn't suck at all. They did touch on the army at the beginning of the movie, but Loki was the main villain so why go into detail on who they were. There wasn't anything special with them, and they weren't defeated easily. The avengers struggled in beating them, until Iron man decided to nuke the home base. It's always been a common battle strategy you destroy the home base (Headquarters) you win the war.

As for character development. Not one character is supposed to outshine the others. Yes Thor is considered a "God" but other characters have to be equal in terms of strength, and intelligence. That's how it's supposed to be. Iron Man's witty and sarcastic characteristics ARE EXACTLY HOW IRON MAN IS SUPPOSED TO BE. If Iron man was some laid back dude then it would capture the true essence of Iron man.

Not to mention you obviously didn't watch the same movie I watched. Them arguing in the beginning is to show the lack of chemistry each member had with each other, and as the movie progressed so did that chemistry. Isn't that how it always works when you take a group of random people and force them to work together? People bump heads at first then eventually work together. Every character got his/her chance to shine not just Iron man.

I'm also starting to doubt you even watched the movie, Hawkeye did run out of arrows... :|

Now the plot makes sense if you watched Thor. Loki wants revenge and he's trying to use the tesserat to do it.

Your a fukkin dickhead troll. Not funny bro. Avengers was the shit and like Agent said you probably didnt even watch the movie. Your either trolling or too stupid to even understand the whole plot of the movie. I will break it down later but go kill yourself for making this thread while i take a nap.

the villains could just be amped to be more threatening. as it was they were weak. thor was built up as a literal god in the previous movie. avengers forgot about how he just destroyed the destroyer in thor and was a badass kicking the hell out of an army of frost giants. im all for comic-to-movie depowering but not IN-MOVIE depowering where they retcon a character in the same movie universe.

Your a fukkin dickhead troll. Not funny bro. Avengers was the shit and like Agent said you probably didnt even watch the movie.
lol im a troll because i disliked the movie? i would have had to watch it to notice hawkeye seemingly having unlimited ammo. man do i regret watching it though.

Loki was the main villain so why go into detail on who they were.
if we dont know why this war is happening then why should we care? its typical of a dumb action movie to remove all motivation and character from the main threat.

There wasn't anything special with them, and they weren't defeated easily.
yes they were.

he avengers struggled in beating them, until Iron man decided to nuke the home base.
thor and hulk pwned any soldiers they came across, as did cap and scarlet widow. the only problem was weight of numbers

As for character development. Not one character is supposed to outshine the others.
exactly! so why did they go out of their way to make it seem like only iron man was relevant and useful? thor i felt like was barely in it at all even though HIS BROTHERS THE VILLAIN. thor should have been the main focus of this movie for that reason.

Iron Man's witty and sarcastic characteristics ARE EXACTLY HOW IRON MAN IS SUPPOSED TO BE.
but he wasnt JUST witty and sarcastic. he was obnoxious arrogant and self righteous. like how he got angry at fury for making the nuke but what has he been doing for a lifetime? at the end of iron man 1, he was serious when he needed to be and a total pacifist. here he was cracking jokes CONSTANTLY and the writers expected us to like it even though its being shoved down our throats that ZOMG LOOK HOW WITTY TONY IS.

It's always been a common battle strategy you destroy the home base (Headquarters) you win the war.
no either killing the general or making them run away is how you win the battle

Yes Thor is considered a "God" but other characters have to be equal in terms of strength, and intelligence.
no they dont. if everyone is equal in strenght and intelligence to humans like cap and hawkeye then why are they the avengers at all? its a team of EXTRAORDINARY people with vast arrays of different abilities! but in this movie they all seemed to be doing the exact same stuff! either shooting or punching shit!
and if they are all equal in intelligence then what good is tony at all? hes supposed to be the genius billionaire technology builder.

Hawkeye did run out of arrows...
took him waay too long to do so. he isnt legolas. hes a normal human being.

arguing in the beginning is to show the lack of chemistry each member had with each other, and as the movie progressed so did that chemistry.
they argued because of petty concerns and immature behaviour. they seemed to pick a fight with thor for NO REASON. instead of you know, explaining the situation calmly like normal people. they got thrust together because shield told them to

Every character got his/her chance to shine not just Iron man.
not really. hulk got one or two moments at the very end. thor was barely in it even though his brother and friend are main villains, and cap...what was captain america even doing here? his fish out of water situation could have been very interesting had he been in another movie, not this wasteful garbage

Thor. Loki wants revenge and he's trying to use the tesserat to do it.
revenge for what? who is he? what shit goes he give for earth when he was king of asgard, not earth? why should he care about the alien race if hes so powerful? we were told in interviews he would go toe to toe with thor and hulk easily but he struggles with cap, a human. pathetic compared to when he was fighting evenly with thor on the bridge

This guy is known for his trolling on these forums anyways. I never take what he says seriously
meaning your the true troll since you cant respect peoples opinions and just pass them off as trolling when they are the opposite

If you wanted a comic book movie for a great plot, you should have waited for Dark Knight rises.

I haven't seen the film yet, but to the point of Hulk controlling himself, wasn't hat established at the end of the Incredible Hulk?

Also, when you say how did Loki survive his fall, you mean at the end of Thor, right? If so isn't that because his magic allows him access to many different realms without the bifrost, (something like that).

I disagree with the bolded part.Thor basically destroyed jotenhium on his own but in the movie he got beaten down by iron man for crying out loud.Ridiculous..Other than that the movie is ok....No onei s supposed to outshine the others..the whole movie was focused on iron man and cap america and their bickerings..:|
