Amaterasu burns chakra, the raikage did not expelled his chakra as Neji did, meaning it eventually burned through it.

Infact since the raikage has NEVER expelled his chakra, even when his arm was being burned off, and it is not one of his named skills..

It is prabably safe to come to the conclusion that he can't.

Neji's ability to do this is a named skill, one that has to be learned, not one that any shinobi with a chakra envelope has.

Raikage used BODY FLICKER. That is why sasuke could not FOCUS on him. THe flames will appear where the user can FOCUS. THey appeared where the raikage WAS but then he MOVED faster than Sasuke could FOCUS

My point is the STARTING point of the jutsu is ON his focus. his focus WAS raikage but when the flames appeared he lost focus due to body flicker and therefore the flames traveled. But they STARTED where Raikage WAS. but my point is neji would be the focus and the technique would start there. If neji were to get out of focus or dodge it THEN it would move.

If it appears where the Raikage stands then the Raikage can't dodge it no matter how fast he is, it would take izanagi to dodge a flame that appears on you.

Even Mintao can't dodge something that appears on him.

Zetsu, who watched the flames in action stated that the flames converge at the focal point of the caster.

GUYS! Shinra tensei is a jutsu on a whole different level than the keirakurai-controll of neji. shinra tensei is a jutsu with the abillity to pull EVERYTHING away from it. Neji just pulls chakra out of his body. you can't counter amaterasu with chakra, otherwise the raikage wouldn't get harmed by sasukes amaterasu because of his lightning armor and that's obviously not the fact! please stop crying because neji got beaten by a plot no jutsu in the beginning. it gets very annoying.

not exactly. shinra tensei pushes away everything with it even jutsu and amaterasu is inextinguishable. neji just found the weak points of the chakra system with these two cases

What Neji is doing is pushing a layer of chakra from within himself out through his skin.

The layer of chaker pushes the Amaterasu off, even though the Amaterasu is burning the layer of chakra.

There are certain things amaterasu does not burn for, example it didn't burn Jiraiya's sealing scroll which is a physical thing, nor did it burn Garaa's chakra infused sand, physical, it burnt the fire than was made of Sasuke chakra.


Amaterasu burns everything, Neji uses his chakra as a shield on numerous occasions please do not suggest now that amaterasu for some overpowered reason would just pass right through.

Yes. People think that it works the same as ST but it doesn't. Since Ama burns chakra, it'll just feed the flames. It isn't a material object that can be physically pushed. The reason ST worked is because it is gravitational force manipulation, much different from normal force. Alas, I have tried to explain this to others. +rep to you for thinking with an open mind.

Oh yea, for those that think the chakra will indeed push the flames off. Remember that Neji emits chakra from his chakra points. So what happens to the part of the flames in between the chakra points? They aren't in contact with chakra points so they won't be affected. And that is if Neji's tech works like ST... which it doesn't.

It won't burn inwards because of the rate at which it burns....that is the whole basis of Nejis ability to rid himself of it, Amaterasu burns slowly.

Do we even know if it will be able to burn past Neji's pure chakra, it couldn't burn Gaara's chakra infused sand, I just assumed that it would for the sake of as fair an argument as possible, also to minimise unnecessary rebuttals by preemptively conceding to arguments that I thought would not effect the overall outcome of the debate.

Q of the sharingan you do make logical arguments but in this case I get the feeling you make assumptions about amaterasu which result in it being more powerful than it has actually been shown to be.
