Re: Strongest of the Hidden Leaf: The Hyuga Clan FC

Chapter 8: Shooting Star

As Naruto recalled the memory flowing through his mind, he spoke aloud, “There’s no way Hinata killed her mother.” The eyes of his peers widened as they heard him speak. With an expression of anger, Kiba gritted his teeth as he bared his teeth.

“The hell are you talking about Naruto?!” Still in disbelief, Sakura turned to Neji.

“If you were intent on telling us about her mother’s death then why wouldn’t you have mentioned…” Sakura stopped when she saw the widened eyes of the Hyuga Prodigy. As she made eye contact, the Hyuga Prodigy realized he was conveying his emotions, and immediately scowled.

“Naruto,” he said with a serious tone, “Explain yourself immediately!” Neji’s piercing and straightforward tone broke Naruto from his trance. Making eye contact with Neji’s narrowed lavender eyes s, Naruto looked down with a sad look on his face.

“How am I supposed to explain something I don’t get… you’re the genius here not me… all I know is that Hinata wasn’t lying when she said that she killed her mother. I don’t know why… it was just written all over her eyes…”

“That’s enough!” Kakashi intervened. “We have a mission to complete, and the longer we wait here the more time we waste. Shinobi must not allow their emotions to get the better of them. They have to put their feelings to the side the task at hand can be accomplished. The situation is getting worse, and it’s far more complicated than I had figured. We need to regroup.” Despite his attempt to get his group re-oriented, Naruto had hardly moved. Only Neji and Shino had regained their composure.

“Naruto, how do you plan to become Hokage if you can’t even focus on the task at hand? How can you surpass the Fourth if you can’t even focus? The same goes for you Kiba. Sharing Naruto’s dream, how do you plan to become Hokage by crying out without trying to take in a situation?” Although Naruto’s gaze was fixated on the floor, his eyes had once more widened. Going over the words in his head, Naruto began to think to himself.

“That’s right… how can I become Hokage just sitting here sulking.” Staying motionless for a few more seconds, Naruto closed his eyes. As the green aura from Sakura’s Mystic Palms technique faded, he slowly stood up. “Kakashi-Sensei’s right…we can’t just sit here. We are just sitting here in this damn cave feeling down while Hinata is waiting for us like a real Shinobi. If anyone she should be the one in here...” Naruto paused as he took off the blood stained bandage from his right shoulder. Placing the ragged cloth in his right hand, he curled it into his fist as he threw his arm forward. As some of the blood dripped from the soaked rag, Naruto spoke with a confident grin, “There’s no way I can just sit around and let Hinata outshine the future Hokage… Believe It!”

“Heh… I guess you’re right for once! As the future Hokage, I should be kicking ass! Right Akamaru!” Kiba answered with a smirk. His canine companion barked in sympathy.

“Of course,” started Shino, “That’s because, this is what it means to be a Shinobi.”

In her head, Sakura smiled to herself, “Looks like he’s as simple minded as ever.” Throwing her right arm up clenched in a fist and her left hand holding her arm in a pose reminiscing her sensei. “Alright! Let’s get this over with,” she chimed in.

Neji’s eyes widened slightly when he saw how Naruto’s stance matched the one the Uzumaki had sworn to defeat him in. The surprise was short lived as Neji’s eyes regained their composure. Folding his arms across his chest he waited for the rest of the platoon to move out.

“Well… looks like we’re ready to go,” said Kakashi: his smile hidden under his mask. “Alright, let’s move!”

Exiting the cave, the group noticed that Hinata had already moved across the small lake formed by the waterfall. She waited for the group halfway between the small body of water and the tree line. Having lost her trademark lavender jacket, she only wore a black T-shirt and a suit of mesh armor worn underneath. Walking over to her position, Naruto felt uneasy about what he should say as the recent revelations began flowing into his mind. Managing to clear them from his mind, he cheerfully greeted Hinata. “Oi Hinata! You ready to go?! We won’t let him get the best of us this time!”

“Yes,” Hinata responded. Her voice was empty. As Kakashi looked at the girl, he noticed she held a scroll.

“Hinata, where did you get that scroll?” Kakashi asked. A small bit of breath escaped Hinata’s lungs, and her eyes opened up a bit before returning to their half closed and empty position. They almost perfectly matched the look of Neji’s calm and calculated eyes; however, unlike the Hyuga Prodigy, they remained empty and full of sadness: they were a façade.

“It was from one of Sai-San’s birds. Here…” Hinata handed the scroll to Kakashi.

“Ah! Thank you!” Taking the scroll, Kakashi opened it and carefully examined the document. As he read, more and more of his suspicions were becoming confirmed. “This isn’t good,” Kakashi said to himself. Taking a quick glance at Hinata, he continued his thoughts. “And she’s not in any mind set to fight. Things are on the verge of getting out of hand.”

“Oi Kakashi-Sensei!” Naruto called with unrest. “Shouldn’t we be doing something like walking and talking?! Wait a minute… Kakashi-Sensei where’s Sai?”

Kakashi could feel a bead of sweat drop behind his head due to his student’s lack of perception. “That’s our Naruto,” he thought, “At least he’s cleared up his head.” As the thought faded, Kakashi addressed the Konoha Shinobi. “Listen up… things are getting desperate. It is currently mid-day. We have food rations to last us at best another day. With the recent developments, the target may not continue to stay here for much longer. As such, Twenty- Four hours is our time limit for finding our target. After that it’s game over.” Hearing his deadline being set, Naruto punched his hand into his fist.

“Yosh!” he said to himself, “Plenty of time! By then I’ll be able to kick that bastard’s ass at least five times.” His eyes slightly shifted to see the perturbed eyes of Hinata as she looked towards Kakashi. “Right… I have to figure out what’s going on in her head too. Maybe I’ll only kick his ass four times.” Resolving his thoughts with a grin of confidence, he began to re-focus on Kakashi.

“Before we move out, I have one other thing…” Kakashi started. Before he could continue, the son of Konoha’s White Fang was interrupted.

"Uh… not trying to crash your party here, but since you are kinda short on time, shouldn’t you take up the Orange kid’s advice… you know…. walk and talk," questioned a cheerful voice from above. In the trees above sat a man. He had black hair that slightly curled at the ends of them. The Stranger wore standard Shinobi pants and a somewhat simple black shirt. The sleeves went down to his elbow, and the collar went up to just under his chin. Resting over his eyes was a Konoha headband. A scratch visibly gleaming across the symbol as it sparkled in the sunlight. "So you decided to stop hiding like a coward eh..Shirobaka!" taunted Naruto, "It also looks like you're getting serious since you ditched the rags! I hope you’re ready because I only have a short amount of time to kick your ass!"

"No," said Neji, "That isn't the Target...."His physical demeanor, his speech pattern, his appearance, and even his chakra are different. Nevertheless… judging by the scratch across his headband...he may be in league with the enemy."

"You know... you're sounding just like Tsukasa with your straight forward speaking and your extended vocabulary... Heheh... then again…” The stranger grinned, "I hate to sound rude, but could you leave us alone...we aren't too good at fighting, and with your numbers we’re outnumbered two to one! By the way… you mentioned a scroll from a bird... was that from the artsy guy?"

Naruto’s eyes widened. "Artsy guy?" shouted Naruto, "What did you do with…?!" Before Naruto could finish, he was abruptly cut off.

“Why does he wear half a shirt?” the stranger asked. “I mean I’m not really one for fashion statements, but I can’t help but feel it is a bit… off. Or is this a new ROOT thing?!”

“WHAT DID YOU DO TO SAI!” Naruto shouted. Despite his temper, he managed to compose himself, and keep from charging the stranger.

"Oi, Oi.....no need to get hostile... Sorry about interrupting you, but I was really curious is all. Besides, I don't really want to fight. The Artsy Guy… Sai was it… he’s alright… well, I think. I was supposed to go catch the bird, but seeing as how you guys have it already…”

As the stranger was speaking, Kakashi muttered to his platoon. “Listen up, Sai could be in trouble. Not only that, but it sounds like our target is on at the shrine once again. On my cue, Kiba will throw down some of his smoke bombs. After that, Naruto you make two shadow clones of each person. As soon as you’ve done so, we will all spread out and move towards the Temple. Our primary goal will be to find and secure Sai… then move in on our target pending Sai’s condition.” Having heard his instructions, the Konoha Shinobi tensed as they prepared to move. Kakashi slowly raised his headband and opened his right eye.

“NOW!” As soon as Kakashi shouted, Kiba threw down three smoke bombs and the Konoha Platoon was shrouded by the rising smoke. Once concealed, Naruto crossed his hands in the Iconic cross shape and formed fourteen clones who then took the shape of other members of the group except for two who retained their original appearance. Without wasting a second, the Shinobi flew from the smoke in a scattered formation.

As the wave of Konoha Shinobi burst from the smoke, the stranger let out a small cry of surprise and looked to his right where a small concentration of the Konoha formation moved. “This is looking good,” Kakashi started, “We’ve all entered into the forest, and he’s aiming towards a group of clones!” Just as the thought finished racing through his head, Kakashi’s right eye whirled. He only had a second to cross his hands up before a force impacted his forearms sending him back. As he began sliding back, he’s mind raced. “What the hell… I couldn’t even follow the attack. I could barely sense it coming!” Looking to his left his eyes widened as he saw Sakura, Kiba, and Shino also flying back. A spread out line of individual puffs of smoke indicated where Naruto’s clones had dispersed. “Impossible… he got them all?!”

Shifting his position to cover Sakura, Kiba, and Shino who had landed on their backs, Kakashi raised a Kunai as a flicker of light appeared on the branch above him. The stranger crouched on the branch above the four Konoha Shinobi with a grin on his face. "So much for not wanting to fight..." retorted Kakashi with a bead of sweat rolling towards his mask.

"Heh heh! Well I don't really want to fight but I figured that wouldn’t be fair for Tsukasa... so I figured I’d go ahead and try to keep you from disturbing him.” As he finished, a small scowl came over his face. “Though… I wasn’t able to get all of you.”

A bead of sweat ran down Kakashi’s face. “Damn… we don’t have time for this. With his speed there’s no way he could have missed Naruto, Neji, and Hinata… things are out of hand.”

The scowl faded from the Stranger, and it was replaced with a smile. Throwing his fist down onto his faced up palm he exclaimed, “How about we have a simple sparring session. That way, it isn't really fighting, and no one will get hurt!"

"YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!" snarled Kiba...."It's just like that Tobi bastard all over again!"

Chapter 9: Corona

“NOW!” Perfectly timing his reaction to Kakashi’s words, Neji flew out of the smoke and to his right. Enhancing his speed with chakra, Neji had little difficulty crossing the clearing and entering the tree line. Just before crossing into the woods, Neji noticed Naruto spread the clones out to form a long line: most of the clones had sprinted off to the left. The real Naruto was roughly 10 meters to his left. Both thoughts were fleeting as he diverted all of his focus on the Stranger. It was only because of his Byakugan that Neji could see the man through the multitude of trees. It was only because of his Byakugan he could see the muscles the Stranger’s legs tense, and see extreme levels of chakra pumping into them. It was only because of his Byakugan that Neji caught the small smile spread across the unknown assailant’s face.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Neji began spinning to his left as he simultaneously built up his chakra into the left half of his body. “Juho: Tengoku no Tankyorisō!” As the chakra quickly built up, Neji fired it off starting with the tenketsu that sat in the front of his body from his chest to his tibia. The force of the chakra instantly whirled the Hyuga Prodigy to face perpendicular to the Stranger who had disappeared. Continuing to disperse chakra, Neji then fired off the tenketsu directly on his left shoulder all the way down to the left side of his leg allowing him to continue spinning counter-clockwise as his body also began moving backwards: creating separation between his position and where the Stranger had once been. All the while Neji’s eyes whirled up, down, left, and right as is mere milliseconds it caught a faint ghost of blue. Reacting on instinct, Neji thrust his right hand forward; however, just before the mass of chakra crashed into him it seemingly flew vanished.

Pressing his feet into the Earth, Neji sprung backwards and flung his back into the nearest tree. His eyes continued to scan for the faint wisp of chakra. It took only seconds for him to see the Stranger had returned to a resting position Twenty meters away from Neji’s position. He noticed Kakashi, Sakura, Kiba, and Shino all stood before the Stranger. Analyzing the situation, Neji immediately began attempting to locate Naruto and Hinata. “Naruto must be somewhere close in front of me. Hinata-Sama moved to the left with the clones which means she likely Fifty meters ahead. I need to find Naruto first, and we can then rendezvous with Hinata-Sama.” After thinking through his plan, Neji began scanning the area for Naruto, but to no avail.

“Where could he have gone… it is impossible to believe he managed to get this far ahead of me.” Extending his vision, Neji began taking in the environment. It only took him a few seconds to notice one of the trees Fifteen meters ahead sat lower than the surrounding foliage. Neji’s eye twitched, and his thoughts lost their formality, “He… couldn’t have!” Crossing the distance in a mere two leaps, Neji noticed the tree was surrounded by a Ten meter wide slope that graduated towards the tree that sate in the center. Planted face first into the tree was Uzumaki Naruto.

“Damn!” shouted Naruto, his face dug into the tree, “What kind of attack was that just now. He got me and all of my clones!” Neji found his left eye twitching even more.

“Idiot,” Neji thought, “You failed to even dodge… you simply tripped and crashed into this tree…” Taking a second to calm his disappointment in the blonde haired Shinobi, Neji finally broke his silence. “Naruto,” he simply said. Hearing his name, Naruto finally stopped moaning, removed his face from the tree, and looked up.

“Uh… Neji?” asked Naruto in confusion. His mind finally sparked as he regained his surroundings. “Wait a second, where’d that bast…!?” Naruto had started to shout before Neji swiftly moved behind him and covered Naruto’s mouth.

“Shhh…” Neji whispered, “We were fortunate enough to dodge his attack, considering his speed we have to do anything we can to avoid revealing our position.” After a few seconds of struggling, Naruto finally registered Neji’s words and calmed down. As soon as Neji removed his hand from Naruto’s mouth, he began talking again: albeit in a whisper.

“Alright alright,” Naruto started in annoyance, “So what do we do now?!”

“For now, we move with two objectives. Firstly, we will continue to the objective as Kakashi ordered. Secondly, we will find a way to regroup with Hinata-Sama on the way to Tenshuno Temple. Everyone else is confronting the new enemy.”

“EHH!?” Naruto began to shout before covering his mouth, “How did Hinata manage to get away when not even Kakashi-Sensei could?” As the Uzumaki was looking up with his hand on his chin, Neji clenched his fists. Truth be told, Neji was not sure either. What was worse, he still could not see her despite having his Byakugan activated. Before Neji could begin to dismiss the question as irrelevant, Naruto spoke up again.

“Ehehehe well Hinata does have the same Nindo as I do,” Naruto grinned, “I guess she’s just taking after my skills. And she is part of the Hyuga Clan too…” Had Neji not been the stern and ridged person he was, he would have pummeled the Uzumaki for comparing the Hyuga Heiress to himself: even if deep down Neji knew there was truth to his words. Out of respect for how Naruto had helped Hinata grow, Neji let the comment go.

“It is inconsequential as to how Hinata-Sama evaded the attack. We just need to focus on finding her. Let’s go Naruto!”

“Yosh!” Naruto shouted as the two began racing back towards the peak of Tenshuno Mountain. As they moved, Neji expanded the range of his Byakugan to 800 meters, and kept focusing to try and find the Hinata. The vast number of trees made it nearly impossible to catch sight of anyone moving far off. They had been traveling for about Ten minutes when finally a flicker of motion was captured by his eyes.

“WHAT!” Neji said aloud. The cry of surprised took Naruto off guard, and nearly caused him to lose his balance on the forest branches.

“Oi Neji what the hell was that for?!” Naruto whined. Neji had his teeth gritted.

“Impossible!” he thought to himself. “Even if took some time to get Naruto moving… there’s no way!” Flying through the mountainside 500 meters ahead of them was Hinata.

“Oi Neji!” Naruto shouted, “What are you going on about, Oi wait up!” Naruto increased his speed to keep up with the Hyuga Prodigy. As he regained his position beside Neji, the Hyuga finally spoke up.

“Hinata is about 500 meters ahead of us…” Neji said. Instead of seeing Naruto cry out in shock, Neji was surprised to see a look closer to wonder on the Uzumaki’s face.

“That’s awesome!” Naruto cried, “I didn’t know Hinata was so fast!” Neji could not understand the boy to his left. Uzumaki Naruto was one of the few people who could break his composure, but he was the only one that could consistently do so. Neji could never tell if it was because of the boy’s unbending determination, or his inability to think.

“No Naruto… it is illogical.” Neji said. The Uzumaki looked at him in confusion. Neji continued, “It may have took time for use to get moving, but it is impossible for her to be this far ahead of us. The only way Hinata-Sama could have this much of a lead on us would be if she had managed to be moving at full speed since we broke formation. The enemy behind us is far too fast for Hinata-Sama to evade through speed alone. Even if Hinata managed to block that man’s attack, she would never have immediately gone forward on her own. I am sure you are aware of Hinata-Sama’s gentle personality. After an attack like that she would have never moved on before knowing how everyone else was. Furthermore, Hinata-Sama would have taken more time to carefully view each individual as opposed to taking a general look to see the Platoon’s overall condition.” After that, Neji paused as he gritted his teeth. “Besides, Hinata cannot possibly be in a clear enough state of mind to make any rational decisions… You should understand why…” Before Neji could finish, he was cut off.

“Neji…” Naruto started, his eyes hidden under his headband as he was looking down. After the pause, Naruto looked up, his eyes burning with a flame of unwavering determination. A grin of one accepting a challenge spread across his face. His index and middle fingers were crossed. “Like you said it doesn’t matter how Hinata dodged that bastard’s attack. My ninja way is to never go back on my word! I don’t know what Hinata is thinking right now, but whatever it is she doesn’t plan on backing down… WHICH MEANS WE JUST HAVE TO CATCH UP!” With that Naruto activated the Kagebunshin no Jutsu and used the multitude of clones to act as spring triggers to propel himself into the air, and instantly increasing his speed as the clones threw him forward. As he began to descend towards the tree branches, he released another wave of clones to throw him even further: continuing to do so with each time the Uzumaki came close landing on the tree branches.

Neji’s eyes drilled into the Red Spiraling shape on blonde Shinobi’s back. “Uzumaki Naruto…” he thought to himself. Without wasting another minute, the Hyuga Prodigy began to increase his own speed. “Juho: Tengoku no Tankyorisō!” Focusing the chakra in his feet, Neji propelled himself into the air, and fired concentrated bursts of chakra from his back. He quickly managed to even Naruto’s pace, and the two began to move towards the Hyuga Heiress.

“Someone like me?!” the Stranger asked is honest confusion. “Haha sorry… I guess I’d like to think I’m unique! Hmm?!” The Stranger cocked his head and looked up as he heard the sound of feet kicking off of the ground.

“SHANAROOO!” Sakura cried out as she came thundering down from above the Stranger.

“Hey now…. My ears are a little sensitive! Also… as a Shinobi shouldn’t you refrain from yelling? It gives away your position.” As he spoke, he lifted his hand to block the attack.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you!” Sakura thought to herself. Recalling the battle from the previous day, Sakura’s head began to race. “No way… it coulnd’t be!!!”

As she threw her fist towards the stationary Stranger, he continued to hold a small smile. As her hand was mere centimeters from his hand, the smile quickly faded into an blank expression. After that the Stranger vanished, and Sakura’s fist crashed through the tree, and impacted the ground creating a funnel of rising smoke as the Earth gave way to her strength.

“With such a small window he could escape?!” Kakashi thought to himself. Fortunately the Stranger had moved far slower than the last time, and the Sharingan could track his movement. Flying overhead, the Stranger effortlessly landed on the branch of a tree deeper in the woods. “He’s able to move like that with just a simple Shunshin no Jutsu?! This is bad… the environment is perfectly suited for him.”

“Damn… how is he that fast!?” Sakura said in frustration.

“Oi… next time you wanna go breaking the ground… at least let us know first,” Kiba stammered having just barely escaped the impact of Sakura’s punch. Next to him, Akamaru whined in agreement.

“Stay focused,” said Shino, “That’s because, the enemy has incredible speed. Besides… it is what we aren’t seeing that we need to understand.”

“What are you getting at Shino?” Sakura asked.

“Heh… I see what you mean Shino,” Kiba replied, “With speed like that… this guy probably kill us without any effort... so why hasn’t he?” Akamaru’s fur stood on end as the Ninja Hound focused on the Stranger above.

“Kill you guys?!” the Stranger said, “I already told you I’m not good at fighting, but maybe we could go with a sparring session if you’d like… which reminds me…” Focusing his attention on Sakura, the Stranger continued, “If you plan to use Tsunade-Sama’s chakra enhancing strength you need to let me know! If I hadn’t decided that dodging you punch was a better move than blocking it I’d be down there… and possibly here and there scattered around hehe!”

“No,” Kakashi said, “I highly doubt that.” The veteran Shinobi had all of his focus on the Stranger.

“Huh?!” the Stranger said, “Kakashi-Senpai you probably know better than me about that jutsu! After all that Kunoichi is under your command… plus you still live back home in Konoha with Tsunade-Sama!”

“OI!” Kiba shouted, “Scum like you who deserted the village have no right to call Konoha home!” Kiba’s temper was rising and beside him Akamaru began growling.

“Kiba… calm down,” Kakashi said. “We need to stay focused and work together to take this guy down. He was fully intent on blocking Sakura’s punch until the last millisecond. The Chakra Enhanced Strength builds chakra into the hands or feet and is released with the punch to great overwhelming physical force. Of course the large buildup of chakra creates a thin layer of chakra on the outside of the fist or foot. This guy managed to feel that layer of chakra and dodge with virtually no time or distance.”

Narrowing his eyes, Kakashi continued. “Why he has no interest in killing us is something we can’t determine, what is clear is that Kiba was right. This guy is keeping us from moving forward.”

Re: Strongest of the Hidden Leaf: The Hyuga Clan FC

It's been a little dead for a while XD!
It's sad, really. I expected the Hyuuga clan to have a fairly large fanbase. A little hypocritical coming from me, as I've had my fair share of inactivity as well.

I miss reading theories revolving the Byakugan and the Hyuuga clan. U_U Though they've been getting almost no attention lately. It's all ''Minato this'', ''Tobirama that'', ''Inner Sakura dispels Genjutsu''.

The series is coming to an end, it's only natural for that to happen. It seems there's not really much to even talk about anymore, unless we were to discuss neji's power level and who he could beat, or Hinata's love..... It's hard to come up with topics for something that gets so little attention....

That inner Sakura thread was ridiculous

Between their lack of panel time and "flashy" moves they get overlooked. It's bad enough to where people put the Uzumaki, who only have one ACTUAL member that had its clan's style (Kushina), over them.

It's pretty much come to the wire making theories nearly impossible/irrelevant. Kishi mentioned Hyuga development so sometime soon we'll get something!

The best we can guess is they are somehow related to the Elder Son.

Though I guess we could discuss things like exploits they'd be able to do with what we've seen, or perhaps think of creative techniques.

Apparently, Ineer Sakura > Genjutsu
Not even to Inner Sakura at that....

If willpower alone dealt with Genjutsu... No one in the upper echelon of Naruto would have a problem with it. We'd also have been vastly overestimating Genjutsu...

When was this thead?!
