Re: Strongest of the Hidden Leaf: The Hyuga Clan FC

I personally think Hinata should and must become the Hyuga Leader. Mostly because I want it to shut up her haters about her being a one sided love centered character. Also, it would help in [at least some what] fixing the whole "Females aren't Important" aspect in NARUTO

Hanabi as the Hyuga leader? Come on now, if Hinata's getting with Naruto, then that should be done with giving her a high possession too, The Leader of Konoha's Strongest clan. That'd definitely show her Growth and Maturity, and it would make her "equal" with Naruto, which is something she's always wanted, since both of them would be leaders of a powerful group of people.

Besides, If I remember correctly, I believe Hanabi being given the role was Filler, In fact I'm sure of it. Hiashi merely decided to focus on Hanabi more, rather than Hinata, but to me, it seems he's started to accept hinta more, since it's kinda implied at the end of part 1. Anyways, I doubt someone more minor than TENTEN would steal the possession of a secondary character like Hinata. I just don't see it happening, Hanabi is waaay too underdeveloped [We don't even know her PERSONALITY and she doesn't even appear in the ANIME FILLERS], besides, Hinata is fighting in a war, Hanabi is not..... that should tell us something, no?

Hiashi was impressed with Hinata when she helped Ino stop the Juubidama & The Juubi's arm, so I think he's acknowledging her power, so all we need now is for Hiashi to see Hinata's 64 palms + lion fists combo, and he'll have Hinata set to be as the Clan leader

she seems more confident if you ask me, with the way she slapped Naruto, her love, and went on to lift his spirit even though she'd just been crying over Neji's death, yet when she saw Naruto was gonna lose it, she had to pull herself together and straighten Naruto up. And then there's the fact that Hiashi stated to Hizashi that Hinata and Neji were fighting side by side and we see a panel of Hinata and Neji defending each other's backs, with Hinata saving neji from a Zetsu, and then asking if he's ok. And then in 633, where she ruthlessly attacks a Juubi clone; Sure it's not something impressive, but it is something impressive for her to do.

Re: Strongest of the Hidden Leaf: The Hyuga Clan FC

Lol well I was kind of in my condescending Hyuga Elders mentality with the idea that they have some rule.

Basically I was just saying that if it wasn't possible for Hinata to have both, then that's how it'd play out.

But I'd love for her to be the leader. I also think that it would perfectly introduce Hanabi once more with Hinata not cursing her sister.

Additionally Hiashi was impressed with her repelling the juubi's tail. Before the fight ends I'm sure she will shine again. Also, her 64 palm on the Juubi is quite impressive compared to what people usually think.

1. As a Juubi clone it is not a human

2. As a collective of Natural energy...does it even have a chakra system that truly matches humanity's

3. As a portion of the juubi does it even have organs

Considering it was stunned when it may not have any of this is impressive IMO. Plus we do not yet know the power of Twin Lion Fist so yeah :p. Finally, as you've said Hinata has become FAR more confident compared to her part I and even war start self

Re: Strongest of the Hidden Leaf: The Hyuga Clan FC

Speaking of 64 palms, I've always wondered if Hinata was able to improve her eyesight to see the Tenketsu... I mean, it's clear Neji improved his eyesight, as he went from 5oM being his max to 800M and Hinata was shown to see 10KM.... though, I guess the fact that she can use 64 palms may hint at the fact that she can indeed see the tenketsu

I personally think the Juubi does have organs & a chakra network, since Kurama ate the Kin-Gin bros. and it was shown he had a stomach. And the Juubi also has an eye, mouth, and tongue which are organs.
I think it HAs to have a chakra network, otherwise, how does it use bijuudamas?

Yeah she can see Tenketsu as her 64 palms would serve no purpose. And being able to see 10 kilometers is pretty impressive as always XD!

I guess I could see the Juubi itself having them, but I wasn't sure about the cones as they were basically just parts of its skin it fired off to attack people. I could see a chakra network, but they feel a lot like Obito's Hashirama DNA half. And seeing how he took a Chidori to the heart, I'd say there's a lack of injury via organ...I guess just my thought.

That's true as you have the effects of moves such as air palm, and gentle fist for those who do not see tenketsu. Though I'd say the pest way to cause damage would still likely be to hit tenketsu.

Re: Strongest of the Hidden Leaf: The Hyuga Clan FC

Well this place has been a little empty as of late!!! Here we go!

Chapter 6: Shrouded Sun

“NARUTOOOOO!” Sakura’s cry went unanswered as the Kyubi Jinjuriki plummeted down the waterfall. As she moved forward her hand was caught by Kakashi who had moved up to the front once more.

“This isn’t the time for rash indecision.” Kakashi lectured. “There is nothing we can do for them right now. We need to focus on taking this guy down first. Not only is it our mission, but leaving him around will make searching for Naruto and Hinata more complicated.” Fighting back tears, Sakura managed to regain her composure. “Alright listen up, let’s use formation three!”

“Understood,” responded Sakura, Kiba, Shino, and Sai. Neji, a few meters to Kakashi’s left, stood up without a word. His eyes filled with searing rage. No trace of mercy remained in the Hyuga Prodigy. Worried that the Hyuga would act rashly like his cousin, Kakashi had chosen the formation to keep an eye on him, and as such, he positioned himself at Neji’s side. Staying relatively where she had landed, Sakura stayed to Tsukasa’s left, Kiba moved with Akamaru to position himself behind the enemy. Seeping out of the tiled temple floor, bugs encircled the new formation and rose to create a wall of swirling insects. With going up being the only means of escape, the route was cut off as Sai soared overhead on his quickly drawn Ink Bird.

“You’re out of room.” Kakashi stated. “I’ll give you one more chance to quietly back down. We don’t have time to deal with someone like you.”

“Then do not deal with me.” With no sense of intimidation, the S-Rank criminal remained where he was. After several seconds, he slowly raised his hands to form an altered Ram seal. As he did so, eight white flames appeared midway between himself and the surrounding Konoha Shinobi. As the flames appeared, Kakashi called out orders.

“Stay on your guard. He can strike at any time!” Not needing his advice, Neji, Kiba, Akamaru, and Sakura were already tensed up to move. Outside of the spinning insects, Shino doubled the encirclement speed of his insects. Sai narrowed his eyes, and readied the unique blade he carried on his back.

As if on cue, the whirling white flames broke their circling formation; however, instead of racing at his opponents, the flames scurried back and struck at Tsukasa’s feet. Igniting the base of his ragged cloak, the flames spread, and soon the S-Rank Criminal was engulfed in a singular white flame. Slowly raising his left hand, he tipped the side of his Kasa down and to the left. Tilting his head a tad to his left, Tsukasa spoke. “It’s a long way down.” As he finished, his body began to turn to ash from left to right, and just like that he was gone.

“What the hell just happened is he insane?!” Kiba cried out! “If he just killed himself, I’ll kill him!” Sai let out a chuckle.

“It appears you have less brains than Naruto!” he chided.

“WHAT WAS THAT!” shouted Kiba with a humorous fury.

“This is not the time for jokes,” Shino said, “That’s because Hinata and Naruto are either dead or injured.” As he finished, the group looked down with worry over their friends.

“Kakashi-Sensei… what should we do. I mean, what do you think is the best way to split up.” Sakura’s voice held a bit of weakness in it. Her mind too concerned over the loss of another teammate, Sakura looked up to ask again. “Kakashi….Sensei?” Sakura paused as she saw a look of surprise on her sensei.

In his mind, Kakashi recalled Tsukasa’s final action. “It’s a long way down.” The words were not what had taken the veteran shinobi back. Instead it was what he saw. As Tsukasa tipped his hat to the left, Kakashi met his opponent eye to eye. The right eye that stared passively at Kakashi was one he had never seen before. From the center of the lavender eye, black lines curved out until the met with the black iris that surrounded the eyes resulting in a spiral appearance.

“Kakashi…Sensei?” With the second call from Sakura, Kakashi snapped back to reality. Closing his eyes, he lifted his left hand as he pulled his headband over his eye. Only after his headband rest over his Sharingan did Kakashi open his eye.

“For now we do nothing.” His answer stunned Sakura.

“Kakashi-Sense how can you say that!” cried Sakura, “Right now Naruto could be injured or even…” She was uable to finish the thought.

“Kakashi is right.” Having regained his composure, Neji continued. “The sun has already set. The time it would take to get down to the base of the waterfall would only leave us tired out if we move at night. The foreign terrain would only lengthen the time. Regardless, the fact of the matter remains that our target could return at any time. The lives of our comrades may be of concern, but the mission cannot be ignored as well.”

“What are you talking about!? The guy caught on fire and dissolved! The only way he’s coming back is in an ash tray!” Kiba’s snarl was quickly answered by Kakashi.

“No, that was a Secret Technique of the Hyuga Clan. Is that right Neji?!” Closing his eyes for second, Neji opened them, and answered: his eyes focused on the spot Tsukasa had been standing.

“Yes. Hyuga Art: Royal Flame Apparition.”

“Wait a minute!” started Kiba, “If you knew about this why didn’t you stop the bastard!”

“It is not like the technique is used often,” Neji began, “I have never heard of the jutsu being either mentioned or used during my lifetime. I was only able to comprehend what the jutsu was because I had read about it while going through some of the scrolls that are held in Hyuga Compound. Besides, even if I had realized what the technique was a little sooner, I doubt he would have let me stop him.”

“Well… we need to wait until dawn before we go look for Hinata and Naruto. Like Neji said, I do not want to risk us getting lost or injured. We aren’t familiar with the territory. Instead let’s rest here for tonight, and go over what we know. Think about what you need to do to be prepared. I think we’ll be seeing him again soon. We start looking for them tomorrow morning.” Having finished his orders, Kakashi sat down and, placing his arms behind his head, began looking at the sky. His mind retraced the events of the fight.

Sakura wanted nothing more than to find her teammate. The fact he would be stuck with Hinata was only angering her. “Of all the people… why’d he have to get stuck with her? She…” As she thought, Sakura recalled her conversation with Naruto at the gates of Konoha.

“When she…,” Naruto began, “She loo…”

The phrase Naruto had started, but never finished. Unable to figure it out, Sakura let it go. Her anger at Hinata also faded for the time being. Instead, worry over whether her closest friend was still alive came over her. “I can’t just sit here! I’m climbing down this waterfall!” With confidence Sakura began to move towards the edge of the cliff where Naruto had fallen. Before she could make any real progress, Neji’s hand clamped onto her wrist.

“Sakura.” Neji said, “The rushing water moves with a strong force. Over the years, the rocks alongside the waterfall have severely weakened. While they are capable of maintaining their position… they crumble upon being tread on. Hearing Neji’s words kill her effort to climb down the mountain side, Sakura let out a huff of defeat. After several seconds she finally looked back up again.

“Alright… It looks like I don’t have much of a choice…” Wishing she had thought to bring gear in case of an overnight operation, Sakura sprawled down on the hard Hyuga concrete. Spreading her arms out across the tiling she thought to herself, “Naruto… We’re definitely going to find you.” With determination in her head, Sakura soon found herself swept away in slumber.

Waking up in her bed, Hinata found her vision blurred around the edges… semi-conscious from having just woken up, Hinata felt like she was watching herself move with no way of controlling it. Slowly getting out of her bed, Hinata moved to open the door to her room she observed her hands seemed different. Moving about the Hyuga compound, she came to the center clearing of the Dojo. Sitting on the wooden structure sat a shrouded figure with their head tilted towards the full moon. Looking to her left, she saw another figure leaving the compound.

Hearing herself giggle, Hinata crept back the way she had gone, and quickly found the secret exit she had somehow managed to construct. Despite her Elders having told her to stay away from him, Hinata could not help, but pick up at least one idea from the boy Naruto Uzumaki. Escaping the Hyuga compound, Hinata once again giggled as she began running through the streets of Konoha. “Why am I laughing..?” Hinata could only think to herself as she watched herself move. Making sure to stay hidden, Hinata slowly followed the figure making sure to hide behind wall, poles, or signs. As she moved, she still could not understand why everything was so much larger than it should have been.

Having moved in this fashion for thirty minutes, she finally stopped as the shrouded figure she followed leapt onto a building. In the recesses of her mind, Hinata noted to herself that she must have been close to the outskirts of Konoha. With a suddenly odd sensation of excitement coursing through her veins, she discarded her cover as she began to happily move towards the shadow standing on the building. Just as she had stepped out from behind the pole, the figure had whirled around to see her. Suddenly, her excitement seemed replaced by confusion. A dark aura fell over her as she felt her body turning on the inside. The shadowed figure moved closer, but stopped several feet away as the figure extended a hand. Hinata then noticed at best she came up to the shadow’s waist, but the thought escaped her as she continued to feel the presence behind her whirl about.

With fear settling in her stomach, she slowly turned around. A dark cloaked figure stood behind her. As she looked towards his face, her vision blurred, and darkness enveloped her. When all she could see was darkness, a gentle voice giggled, “Are you not supposed to be somewhere else?”

Hinata’s eyes stirred. As she slowly opened them, she found herself lying flat on her back. From the looks of the ceiling, she could only assume she was in some sort of cave. Off to her right she could barely make out the sound of a fire over the roaring water. Despite the darkness and a little light coming from the fire, Hinata could tell from the way some light entered the cave from the waterfall that it was already day time. She was only able to tell thanks to her Byakugan. “I was… dreaming?” She thought to herself. Her head felt a bit groggy, but it was simply the process of waking up. Slowly rising, she placed her right hand over her right eye and face as she tried to think. After several seconds of being unable to think, she finally noticed it was a bit cold around her shoulders. As she went to place her hands on them, she finally noticed that she had been covered by an orange and black jumpsuit, and that her lavender hoodie was missing.

Her head still swirling, “This… jacket…” she thought to herself. Leaning up, Hinata shifted the jacket to cover her shoulders as it rested on her back. Her arms pulled the jacket tight to warm her. Suddenly she realized it was Naruto’s jacket. Her face burned bright pink. Hinata was shocked to the point where she could not even let out a squeak. As quickly as her recollection of whose jacket she wore returned, so did the memories of the last two days. Her bright face burned out, and was replaced with cold pale regret. Looking up she saw he sat a few meters in front of her. His forearms rested over his knees, his feet flat on the floor. Not surprisingly, his trademark orange and black jumpsuit was not on, and instead he only wore mesh armor. His head was tilted down as though he were asleep.

“Naruto….Kun” Hinata let out a meek whisper. To her surprised, Naruto’s hands twitched and he looked up. Hinata immediately regretted calling his name, the look of sadness in his eyes was too much for her.

“Hey…you’re awake.” Naruto let out quietly, “Try not to move… I think you hit your head on the statue up there.”

“Yes…” Hinata began to reply when she noticed a notable collective of crimson bandages on Naruto’s right arm. They were bandages that were both poorly wrapped, and soaked with blood. Hinata cried out, “Naruto-Kun! Your arm! I…”

“Heh!” Naruto let out a little laugh. Despite his sad eyes, his mouth had formed a small smile, “It’s alright… I’ve had worse…Believe it.” His weak attempt of assuring her to his health fell on deaf ears.

Still with a panicked voice, Hinata spoke up, “Naruto-Kun, I’m sorry!”

“Oi… Hinata I’m fine really…!” Naruto’s eyes widened as Hinata threw her head to the ground. Her hands were placed at both sides of her head.

“I’M SORRY! VERY SORRY! I’m not asking for you to forgive me or anything… I… won’t ask for that… I… I don’t deserve that. Not after everything I did. I just want you to know I truly am sorry… that I was wrong, and that I know I was wrong. I was wrong to hit you. I should never have said… said such an awful thing to you. And now because of me you’re…” Before Hinata could finish, she felt a pair of hands clamp onto her arms just below the shoulders, and let out a quick gasp of surprise.

As the tears had continued to fall from her eyes, she slowly looked up. As she looked up she saw Naruto looking at her. His face with a grin, and his eyes closed. The regular over cheerful grin of Naruto Uzumaki stood just before her teary eyes.

“Oi… Hinata!” Opening his eyes, they conveyed sincerity and confidence as he continued. “I already forgave you! There’s no way I can blame you for that! You haven’t been yourself. When you attacked that Raggs Bastard… I was completely sure something was definitely different about you! Heheh besides, I’ve been called names all my life! The furture Hokage can’t let name calling stop him…” Naruto paused as Hinata began looking down once more. Trying to cheer her up, Naruto started again. “Besides,” He said once more closing his eyes, “I should be the one apologizing!” With that he managed to get Hinata to look up.

“B-But Naruto-Kun… you have nothing to apologize for.” Finally letting go of her arms, Naruto sat back to his original position. Rubbing his right hand against the back of his head, he let out a little laugh.

“Well… I think it might have sorta been my fault! Sakura-Chan mentioned she was supposed have lunch with you, but you kinda didn’t show. We got worried and went looking for you, but you ignored us. That bastard Kiba mentioned how we’d be ignored, and Neji told me not to talk to you… but I kinda ignored them. They did say something about it being an odd day… so sorry about that…….. though for some reason, I feel like I forgot something.”

“It is probably Shino-Kun…” Hinata thought to herself with a smile. It was short lived, and once more a solemn expression returned over her face as her memories brought back other dark memories.

“Hey…Hinata…” Naruto started. Looking back up for yet another time, Hinata noticed Naruto’s grin had been replaced with a look of uncertainty, and his eyes looked down and to the left.

“W-what is it Naruto-Kun.” She gave a short response.

“When you slapped me the other day… You looked angry, but your eyes only looked sad. They were like how my eyes used to be. What was that all…” Naruto stopped before once more laughing aloud. “Ehehe Sorry! I guess I got a little carried away there… I just wasn’t expecting those eyes so they have really thrown me off” His attempt to cut off the topic fell short as Hinata simply looked down. Her eyes were concealed beneath her bangs.

“No… it’s alright.” She said slowly. “After how awfully I treated you… you should know………Naruto-Kun, yesterday is…” As her lips began to mouth the words, Naruto’s world stopped spinning in sheer disbelief.

Re: Strongest of the Hidden Leaf: The Hyuga Clan FC

Wait, You've done Chapter 5 already???

Man, I want to reread you're ff from scratches cause I don't think you understand how I no How We truly appreciated for sharing and provide us some nice interesting Hyuga arc Fiction. It mean alot for us

So I was wondering if you don't mind you could send us from Chapter 1 -5 in the link.

Or it would be so much cool if you could stick in your signature then everyone would check your FF.

This is just my thought.

I wish I could REP you, but unfortunately I can't and that is a shame, since I cannot show you my appreciation .

Thanks !
The pleasure is all mine! Taking your advice (as you already know), I have posted a thread group in the Hyuga Club's official FC Group.

This link will contain all of the chapters in order from start to finish. Sadly, due to their character count, the posts do have to be chopped up; however, for the most part it may actually help (Chapter 4 is a pain in the ass to read...excuse my language).

Please note that I will continue to post the new chapter here first, but this is mainly for those who'd like to go back and re-read a chapter, or go back to catch up on the last one if it ends up taking some time before my next chapter is out.

This is the best chapter so far.... And you gave us another cliffy :rage: XD XD XD I really love the flow, as well as the little details like Sai's joke and how Shino is always forgotten. Thumbs up! =D

I believe there'll probably be a flashback next chapter?

Thanks guys!

I'll go ahead and say an important question will be revealed next chapter so that should keep you in waiting!

Next chapters ending will not EXACTLY be a cliffy, but will probably be more akin to :rage:WTF shock mode....well that's what I'd hope.

Re: Strongest of the Hidden Leaf: The Hyuga Clan FC

This is something that's been on my mind as of late; I once thgought that the Elder Son's eyes were a sort of "mangekyo Byakugan" so to say. And I think it would be cool if Hinata were to get those spiral eyes, since it would represent her affinity to Naruto, who's an uzumaki.

Though, I still would prefer the Yin-Yang Byakugan idea over the Spiral Byakugan one

Re: Strongest of the Hidden Leaf: The Hyuga Clan FC

Agreed Crystal. That's what ice been thinking. The origional version is probably white/lavender like the Byakugan, but upon corruption via hatred and the juubi's precence it reddened.

This is old and may actually be at the front here, but this helps and makes it relavent.

I prefer to say Teikokku (Imperial) Byakugan. Mangekyou refers to windmill which refers to the spinning of the sharingan...so I never use it to describe Byakugan upgrades.

The term just fits batter considering their old fashioned hierarchy system... Also I think china holds several ties with the gentle fist style, so an imperialist China symbolism would work.

Re: Strongest of the Hidden Leaf: The Hyuga Clan FC

So! Would have posted my new chapter on the 22nd had I had time to write it, but I ended up packing for College, and then driving 9 hours to college the next day.

I am ALMOST done with it (am at just about the final scene). Sorry about the wait!

EDIT:

Ok, so looking back at my last chapter...noticed a mistake! At the end, Hinata says, "Yesterday is..."

It should have been ,"Two days ago was..."

As I had been looking at some of my outline, and forgot that I changed the progression of days, and had moved it ahead by one day.

ANYWAYSSSSS! Chapter 7!

Chapter 7: Solar Eclipse

With the morning sun creeping into her eyes, Sakura awoke with a stiff back. “Damn this stupid temple,” she thought to herself. Due to their mission taking place within the Hyuga’s ancestral grounds, the original plan had been to apprehend the target, and move to one of the outposts members of the clan used to patrol their land. However, due to the unforeseen events of their target escaping, and losing Naruto and Hinata, their plan had been completely redrawn. Despite her aching back, the pink haired Kunoichi focused all of her attention on preparing to search for her teammate.

Looking around, she saw the other members of the Konoha patrol were slowly starting to wake. Standing towards the head of the staircase was Shino, who had been standing guard for the last two hours: having drawn the final guard lot. She then noticed Neji also happened to be awake. Sakura had not noticed the Hyuga Prodigy before, likely due to his stillness. Neji sat firmly in the middle of the Tenshuno Temple: resting much like their target had upon their arrival. Managing to stand herself up, Sakura slowly moved over to the center of the circular shrine to speak with Neji.

Before she could question what was on his mind, Neji opened his eyes. “It would appear everyone is beginning to wake. Immediately standing up, Neji walked over to the finally standing Kakashi. “I believe it would be best if we split our force in half. It would be the most efficient way to maintain both our current objective, and locate Hinata-Sama and Naruto. Combining the tracking skills of your Ninken with Kiba and Akamaru, we should be able to locate them via scent. Adding Sakura for any necessary application of medical ninjutsu would be a given. Meanwhile, Sai, Shino, and I will remain here. That way we can scout the area for our target.”

“Well…it appears it wasn’t just his impressive mastery of the Gentle Fist that Neji earned his Jounin status… then again, I shouldn’t be surprised,” Kakashi thought to himself, “But… he still has some room to improve. You have to learn to keep you emotions out of your judgement.” Having finished thinking things over, Kakashi addressed the group. “A good analysis… but… you forgot to think of the enemy. Our target is far more familiar with this territory than we are. He’s able to move around using the Hyuga Clan’s own hidden techniques. I know I don’t have to tell you that he can easily ambush us at any point. So… to compensate we need to use numbers. Still, you are right. We do need to maintain both tasks at the same time, and splitting up is the best way to do so.”

Taking a quick pause, Kakashi continued. “Sai, I want you to stay here. As a member of ROOT, you probably have the greatest amount of skill when it comes to hidden surveillance outside of me; however, facing this guy alone is too much of a risk… which is why you are staying behind, and not me. Unlike you, I don’t have the ability to fly. I’d like you to use your Ink Birds for both communication and surveillance. If you find yourself at risk of being discovered, I want you to move away using your advantage in flight. The rest of us will move to find Hinata and Naruto, but also to use numbers in case we come across the enemy. Is that understood?”

“Understood!” The rest of the members responded in unison. Scanning the group, he noticed Sakura bite her lip. His eye resting on Neji for only a second, Kakashi could easily tell that the Hyuga should have been aware of the present situation. Kakashi knew that despite his calm composure, the Hyuga Prodigy did not want to face the prospect of his cousin being dead. Despite being in a similar position, Kakashi knew he had no other choice.

“Alright then, Move Out!”

With his order, the platoon moved out. Sai remained on top of the Temple as he began drawing. Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, the group effortlessly flew through the open clearing that was at the staircase’s base. Upon entering the forest, Kakashi keep his lead as they began to descent and encircle the mountain in hopes of reaching the mountain’s base. Not long after entering the forest, he found Sakura moving up to his right.

“Kakashi- Sensei, I understand your orders… but I was wondering why we didn’t just have Sai fly to the base of the waterfall?”

“I thought you might have had that on your mind,” Kakashi replied coolly. “Firstly, like I said, we need to maintain numbers. We have to assume this Tsukasa Shirokishi can appear anywhere within the territory… as it will keep us from a false sense of comfort, but it also explains how he’s only been spotted at the temple. As such, sending Sai down alone presents problems. If he lands and our target appears, he’s by himself. Even worse, if he finds Hinata and Naruto… and those two can’t move on their own, we will have a problem if the target appears just when Sai has found our missing members. While we may have been able to take the majority of us using multiple birds, we still need to focus on the objective. Leaving someone behind is necessary, and Sai is the best for the job... I know you’re worried, but we have to move cautiously.” As he finished, he saw his student look down with worry in her eyes. Shortly after, Sakura returned to her original position in the formation. As she moved to back and to Kakashi’s right, Neji was moving just beside her to Kakashi’s left. In between Sakura and Neji, but further back moved Kiba and Shino.

As she moved back in formation, Sakura took several deep breaths to calm herself. Having regained her composer, she began to focus and think. “Despite his calm and calculated composure, Kakashi seemed lost in some thought,” the Pink Haired Kunoichi thought to herself. Sakura was not surprised. To her, Kakashi was always thinking steps ahead. Deciding it would be pointless to guess what was in the thoughts of the Copy Ninja, she glanced back at Kiba and Shino to see how they were. It was then she saw Shino shiver as though a chill had run down his spine. Immediately doubling her focus on the vigilant Aburame, Sakura immediately called out to him. “Shino! Are you alright.”

“Yes,” the Aburame replied. Pressing his index and pointer finger to his goggles, he continued. “Just now… I suddenly felt forgotten.” Putting up a smile, Sakura replied.

“Ah…I see!” In her head, Sakura thought to herself. “….It isn’t like you make it hard to be forgotten.” As the thought crossed her mind, she could not help but notice as the Aburame’s fingers twitched. While she had not expected the calculating Shinobi to actually have such a quirk, what did shock her were the words spoken by the Hyuga Prodigy to her left.

“Sakura,” Neji started, “While we have the time, I would like to take the opportunity to apologize.” Amongst her own shock, Sakua could only imagine Kiba and Shino wore similar expressions.

“Eh…Neji …what do you have to apologize for? “

“I see…you would not understand if I do not clarify….very well. I wanted to apologize for Hinata’s behavior from two days ago.” Sakura’s shock was quickly replaced by anger.

“Neji! You don’t need to apologize for things Hinata does. Just because you are her cousin doesn’t mean you have to be her lap dog! TSCH! If Naruto didn’t beat that into your head, then I sure as hell will!”

Closing his eyes for a second, Neji continued. “It is not a matter of feeling indebted or in service to Hinata-Sama, but instead for two reasons. Firstly, it was of my own negligence that the event even transpired. Secondly, I only apologize on her behalf for Hinata-Sama could not possibly have known what had transpired on that day...”

“What are you talking about?” Sakura said. Her face was entirely serious. What traces of shock or anger she once had were replaced with a determined inquiry. As if he were a child being struck, Neji’s head immediately sunk. It took him several minutes to reply.

“Two days ago… used to be a day I celebrated like no other day. Not even the day of my birth held more significance.” With this, Neji paused as he struggled with the actions of his not too distant past. After a few seconds, Neji continued. “As you know… before my fight with Naruto, I hated the main branch. I believed they had taken everything from me. My father’s life, my destiny, and in the deepest corners of my mind I could only stand in fear of what they would take from next. So… it was only natural for me to relish the day. Even now I tremble with the fury and shame I have for myself… and even more so because despite everything I knew she never felt superior. She never felt above the rest of us… she only felt like she was a member of a family. It did not matter to her that she was of the Main Branch.” As he mentioned the titular branch of the Hyuga Clan’s leading family, he paused once more as he gritted his teath.

“Two days ago. That day marks the seven year anniversary of Hiyori-Sama’s death.”

The information began processing in Sakura’s head. “Hiyori….SAMA!” The realization had finally struck her in full force, and her eyes widened. “But that would make her Hi…” Before she could continue, she was abruptly cut off.

“That’s enough chit-chat back there!” Kakashi ordered in a harsher tone than usual. “Stay focused on the objective. We can’t afford to let the enemy take us by surprise.” Despite the shock the three younger Konoha Shinobi felt, they did their best to suppress their emotions. Satisfied with their resolve, Kakashi continued. “Kiba, can you pick up their scent?!” The Inuzuka sniffed the air for a few second, and his expression grew grim.

“Yeah….I think they may be only a kilometer ahead of us…the air is really misty so I’m guessing that’s the waterfall’s drop off point. I can smell Hinata’s scent more clearly than Naruto’s… but they are both definitely ahead of us. But… I can also smell blood. It isn't much, but someone's hurt!” As he finished Sakura narrowed her eyes.

“Blood,” She thought to herself, “Naruto... Hinata. Don’t be hurt badly, I’m on my way!”

“Neji,” Kakashi said, “Use your Byakugan to scout the area ahead of us.” As he glanced back, he saw the Hyuga Prodigy staring forward with his eyes already active.

“I’m already on it,” Neji started, “I can see the base of the waterfall. Surrounding the base of the waterfall is a small body of water: 100 meters in diameter it would seem. Scattered throughout the water looks to be scattered rocks of various shapes and sizes……Other than that, there is about a 30 meter clearing separating the waterfall’s waterbed and the foliage. A ten meter wide stream carries the water from the waterbed into the forest. Due to the mist being caused by the falling water it is hard to say…but it appears as though there may be something behind the waterfall.”

Hearing Neji’s description of the clearing only a Kilometer ahead, the Konoha platoon hastened their pace. It took only six minutes before they could faintly hear the roaring waterfall, and another two before they had made it to the edge of the clearing Kakashi called the group to halt. As the waterfall roared the Konoha Platoon remained motionless as they searched the clearing for ambushes. Sakura noticed as Kakashi kept his head looking up. Not long after, from the direction Kakashi looked came one of Sai’s Ink Birds. Pulling out an empty scroll, Kakashi allowed the bird to ram into it as it shifted to form a written text from Sai. After scanning over the contents, Kakashi seemingly relaxed.

“According to Sai’s report, there isn’t any movement back at the Temple. He also sent a bird to scan this area, and it was also empty. It is too soon to let your guard down, but we can move more casually.” With that, the team moved slowly in formation. Kiba took the point, and after taking a brief pause, Kiba moved forward into the heart of the pond. Reaching his hand into a group of jagged rocks, he pulled out a torn up lavender hoodie that could not belong to anyone other than Hinata.

“Damn….this isn’t good!” The Inuzuka was beginning to panic. Matching his feelings, Akamaru began to whimper. He soon found Kakashi kneeling beside him.

“Kiba…. Calm down.” Kakashi said, “There is only a hoodie here. The fact that neither Hinata or any traces of blood are here means that the jacked floated here from further in the waterfall…Neji, you said that the waterfall seemed suspicious, check to see if you can see better now that we are just in front of the mist.”

“Very well,” Neji said. Narrowing his activated Byakugan, Neji peered into the falling water. “Now that we are closer…Yes, there is without a doubt some form of cave formation just beyond the Waterfall!”

“I see,” Kakashi began, “Shino?”

“We aren’t being followed. That’s because, my insects are moving in formation around us. If the enemy is following us, they aren’t close enough to cause us trouble for the moment. In addition, some of my insects that were in front of the formation have reported back. Neji’s Byakugan would appear to be correct. A small cave formation sits just behind the waterfall.”

Taking a breath, Kakashi gave his orders. “Alright, let’s move into the cave formation! But stay cautious, we have to be prepared to find anything in there.”

“Yes!” answered his platoon in unison. Watching them from a tree on the edge of the clearing, a shadow sat quietly observing.

Quickly moving around the right side of the waterfall, Sakura found they would be able to enter cave formation without having to get soaked. Taking the lead, she moved into the cave quickly followed by the members of Team Kurenai. Moving into the entrance, it did not take her long to spot a fire. Taking a few seconds to adjust to the lighting and move forward, Sakura’s heart skipped a beat in joy. In front of her sat Hinata, her hands seemingly on her knees and with Naruto’s jacket on. She could make out Naruto’s spikey blond hair just on the other side of the Hyuga Hieress.

“Naruto! Hinata!” Sakura exclaimed, “Are you two ok?!” Almost matching her reaction, Akamaru barked in triumph, but slowly gave yet another whimper.

“Yes, but Naruto has a cut on his arm,” Hinata said as she turned her head to the voice behind her. Hinata hid eyes were under her bangs. Despite a soft smile on Hinata’s face, Sakura could hear the sadness in her voice.

“Hinata….I’m sorry for how I’ve acted… I didn’t know about your mother until Neji explained it!”

“SAKURA!” Neji exclaimed. Once more he had failed to anticipate the actions of Team Kakashi. “Hinata- Sama forgive me. I only wished for them to fully understand the situation. Had I known how they would…”

“It’s ok…Neji-Nisan,” Hinata said. Her eyes were still hidden. Taking off the jacket on her shoulders, Hinata carefully folded it, and placed it before Naruto. “Thank you for letting me borrow your jacket Naruto- Kun, but I’m alright now that we’ve dried off.” Having placed the jacket before Naruto, Hinata stood up, turned, and exited the cave. As she exited the cave formation, Kiba and Shino took steps to the side so she could pass… between her current state, and the knowledge they had just learned, they did not know how to approach their comrade. Akamaru curled himself by Kiba's leg. Neji stood with his head down: his hands clenched. The narrowed eye of Hatake Kakashi watched her carefully before it focused on Naruto.

Kneeling beside Naruto, Sakura began to treat with the poorly bandaged gash on Naruto’s arm. “You Baka! You can’t even tie a bandage right.” Taking a slight pause, Sakura continued, “It’s a good thing you jumped to save her, but next time think of a better strategy than blind luck… Naruto?!” Sakura paused as she noticed Naruto's expression. His eyes were widened and his mouth was open....a face frozen in shock. "W-what...impossible....there's no way....” He could not stop hearing Hinata’s words, and his mind continued to replay what the conversation he just had.

“No… it’s alright.” Hinata said slowly. “After how awfully I treated you… you should know………Naruto-Kun, two days ago was the Twenty-Third of July… the anniversary of the day I killed my mother.”
