I know this might sound like a weird topic, but this thread is to discuss age, and what is your view of it. What age are you still a kid in youre eyes, and what ge do you consiider to be old, grown up, etc. And what is the limit of age difference for a guy, or girl to date in your view..? Well something has been bothering me, and I think im too old... I am 20 years old, but I wished I had stayed 15 or 16 for the rest of my life, and in high school.. And what sucks too, is that I think my mentality is still not mature enough for my age, and my way of acting, etc.. So yeah, it sucks.. What do you think?
Well man, you've asked a pretty deep question. So, I'll help provide you with a thoughtful answer cuz i think that's what you're looking for. I'm 24, and age is something i have thought about for a while. Honestly, thinking about how old you are, what it means to be a certain age, why can you do certain things at one age and not another... they're questions we all ask at one point or another. Thinking about such things is natural, there is no real answer. the closest i can come is to say that age is what you think it is, it's much like a self-fulfilling prophecy. if, at age 25, you already feel burnt out--well, then you'll only go downhill the rest of your life. Think young, be young. that's it. Personally though i worry about myself too. I mean, im 24 but WTF am i doing? these are my prime years and i'm... lazy, high, procrastinator, don't have a job... on the bright side i'm going to be an English teacher, i'm about a year away from getting my credential, but still, i don't do shit. is it normal? am i just bad and lazy, or do i really have yet to live? have i not done anything because i haven't yet lived long enough to really "live?" it's just all part of growing up, we are all different and it's because we are all in different situations. The fact that you are aware of such things and are wondering about it--while it may seem strange--is actually a sign of maturity in itself. trust me, "growing up," in the sense of mentality, is not something you really "notice" unless you begin thinking about it like this and have enough wisdom to step back and look at yourself objectively--and honestly.

im 18, but i look about 15 or 16 but i act extremely mature

if you KNOW that you ACT immature your actually more mature than you think.
(IN MY OPINION).

I'm 18, I have my moments of immaturity but I'd like to think that I am a fairly mature person myself. But I believe that age isn't what defines someone's status(like being called an adult and maturity. Yes 18 is a legal adult, but I feel that it is the experiences that people go through in life and learn from to help shape their overall self is what truly makes someone grown, or a true adult. Idk i didn't do a great job of explaining it but it sounded a lot better in my head...LeafSpirit no offense but you don't look 20 at all, i get the same thing though, people never can tell I'm 18 but I don't think i look THAT young.

Exactly!!! Its the experiences that people go through that makes them young or old, coudnt have said it better myself.

Younger then 18 is a kid, 18-20 is in between, and 21+ is grown up.

Age difference in a relationship is dependent on age; A 2 year gap is acceptable under 20, over i would say as much as five.

I agree that those years are the best of your life, tho i wouldn't like to stay that young forever. I would rather grow and and experience all life has to offer, as cliché as that sounds.

Well thats my opinion, after 2min of thought anyway.

Im only 19 if you think about it in the long run thats nothing but when I was 16 untill I turned 18 I was seriously freaking out all the time about turning 18 and becoming an adult. I thought my familly would abbandon me and I would be left with nothing because during those two years I looked back and saw how much of a jackass I was twards everyone and how I did nothing to prepare for my future. I believe after true terror stress and depression hit you that is the fall of becoming an adult once you learn to live let things fall into place and get over yourself you are taking the first steps to adulthood.
