[Question] Ace still stronger than Luffy?

I keep hearing this in every top 10 and general strength threads. How can this be, that Ace is still stronger than Luffy? Can somebody explain?

From what we've seen so far

• Luffy >= Jinbe
• 18 years old Ace >= Jinbe
• 20 years old Ace > 18 years old Ace
• 20 years old Ace > Luffy

If Ace was still alive, he'd be stronger in my opinion.
He's be training and crap as well.

But Since he's gone, Luffy's surpassed him, probably.

And Ace's Logia type fruit > Luffy's rubber.

I highly doubt this. Oda confirmed that all of the Commanders were on par with each other, and they were fighting Admirals. Luffy isn't at that level yet, so Ace should be stronger. If Sanji and Smoker tried to do what any of the Commanders did at Marineford, they'd be decimated.

No they're not. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. All what Oda said is that the division number doesn't represent strength. He never said the commanders were equals and by feats and hype Ace is at the very least below Marco, Jozu, Vista and maybe even Thatch

And its impossible
Marco has haki,healing,speed and logia defence and he fought 3 Admirals and he was equal to Kizaru

The gorrosei said that Marco is also capable of stopping Teach(with gura gura+yami yami)

Ace got beaten up by Squard as well

And not to mention that he was solo'd by Teach(who was still getting used to his yami yami no mi)

We don't know enough about Ace to even really judge him power wise.

We know a few things that lead to his rating though:
WB commander
Logia user in the New World(said Logia users die quick there because Haki, this implies Ace had Armament haki to survive in NW he was just killed before it was expanded upon so he didn't get to show it.
High bounty

None of these are really measurable in comparison to another character but they still should be considered when talking about Ace's power level. If Ace had stayed alive I believe he would still be above Luffy and Sabo because they all trained with great guys, Sabo/Dragon Luffy/rayleigh Ace/WB however WB is the strongest we can agree on that right and Ace was already the strongest of the 3 as children so unless sabo got a super power boost through his years with Dragon than Ace would still be at the top if he lived.

Yes he is. Ace was a newbie commander when Vista(like Jozu and Marco) are veteran commanders who were under Whitebeard since Roger's era. Base Teach was implied to be stronger than Ace when he was asked to be commander in his place. WB pirates themselves tried to prevent Ace to chase him(as well as Shanks risking to take on Marines to talk about WB for the matter) because they knew he had no chance, same Teach who had to sneak attack Thatch to steal his fruit.

Vista fought top tiers for a considerable amount of time without sustaining injuries when Ace got manhandled by a high tier and one-shot by a top tier. I don't know about Thatch(considering it was a sneak attack) but Ace was clearly weaker than Vista
