does it matter? want to know how i dodged attacks before i got good enough to defend myself i turned into a shuriken and had a cloen throw me some where way from a jutsu to keep myself if i couldn't find a way to defend. if you use your mind and plan your attacks ahead of time you could even beat and old gen member you just need to out smart them.

Alright to be honest I like the idea of a tournament between the new and the old, shit that seems to be the theme of several things this year from Professional Wrestling to American Football to Naruto RP. But shit with a lot of you rookies saying OP so much these days and several hundred times throughout this thread that it's just second nature for many to use Op and old gen in the same sentence. But in all honesty yeah we all may have some powerful jutsu's or combinations, but also our experience and our strategies is what would qualify us to be in the OP bracket I suppose. But as Roku pointed out our generation has blended in with other generations to the point where others can effectively hold their own against us without them screamin' out Overpowered infact our battles tend to catch some of the most views even after just 1 or 2 moves the matches will have what 200-300 views? That is because people would like to see what is going down and where they can improve on their moves, which is what I give kudo's to y'all for taking the initiative to try and learn from us.
I think the only reason why the lot of us don't intently like fighting you guys is because of how you go about your fights which is in much contrast to our own. Most of us old fucckers (intently spelled wrong) enjoy mixing CQC (Close-Quarters-Combat) and Long Range combat but we prefer the CQC of them all. But when we fight some of the new gen rookies and even some of what you would consider the mid/old gen rookies, y'all will run to the mods, to have them consistently check the validness of our moves or how we counter to the point where it's just down right annoying just so y'all can acquire a technical win over the other person.
Which in the end will show no true skill out of that person other than them knowing how to get technicalities. Shit the stuff we could get away with in the past we couldn't fathom of getting away with today. Such as in an actual RP fight when I had my original Zanji I took a Kirin threw my characters left shoulder and still managed to come out on-top with the victory, barely, and that is what made it fun. But now we have to deal with fact that we can't get away with such actions anymore because others will cry out that it is impossible.
Thus which would make this Tournament a mess due to the vast contrast of how the generations would like to fight or are comfortable with.

ii for one only got a mod in it once. for a jutsu that was misunderstood
idc if i lose in a RP cause i admit it. i have 2 bios so i can always fight.
also. not pickn on senseis. but i NEVER seen a sensei who admitted defeat. if anything i think senseis are the ones who take it more seriuos. i do it for fun and to settle beef with people.
and your right. my def of OP is 1-2 move pwns but in all reality it depends on how many jutsus you have and how you counter it. but i do agree with you. i take my deaths like a man
but one day. ill be able to beat a senpai/sensei and SY. ^_^

Like Zanji said, the biggest problem isn't really the skill level, I mean, yeah, it would be a problem but it isn't the biggest, but rather it's the mindset.
In a nutshell, here's how it is:
Old generation is generally laid back about battles. It all boils down to fun, and stuff like "Oped" customs made battles fun, not frustrating (I remember one of my first fights with Roku; the moment he started using the Music Arts against me was the moment that I started to crap my pants, but it was still one of the first battles that really got me into the RP nonetheless). The new generation is, no offense, but ridiculously uptight and serious. I mean, I'm not as old a member as Zanji or Roku or the like, but from, say, late 2009-the present, battles have become less about fun and more about winning. Not even winning the battles though. It's become about winning the arguments that happen within four posts. That gigantic difference in mindset is the principle that this tournament will probably end up falling apart on.
This isn't just theoretical either, I've seen numerous cases with older members going against newer members and both sides coming out of the battle utterly annoyed and fed up with one another. Tournaments never had a great history on NB to begin with, I believe that there were one or two tournaments that were even finished here, and they still didn't run exactly smoothly anyway, so add that history onto the gaping hole between the battling demeanor of the "new generation" and the "old generation," and the chances that it doesn't end in ruin are slim.
It's putting a generation focused on winning and arguing for as long as it takes to win against a generally more skilled generation focused on having fun. If you think about that statement for a moment, then it's pretty clear that it just won't mix in the way that you might expect. I'm not talking about individuals here, as obviously there are exceptions to both the generalizations that I've made about the new generation and the old one, but they are reliable and relatively proven generalizations nonetheless, which hold fairly true the majority of the time.

i for one wouldnt single out Us as the ones who arugue much. i mostly see older gens who gets mad about things most. i seen it often
