Personally... I enjoyed training for about 2weeks. After that. I hated it. Hence why I'm never going for sensei. I only trained cause I wanted to help. It was no longer a fun thing. Some of the people I've copied and learned from have never been sempai's before but would make excellent senseis. I'm not much for wallies so this is short.

If you're a sensei who's a "well oiled machine" and trains constantly, go ahead and do you. If you want a sempai pick one, if not, continue with your greatness. If your not training constantly or even one reply in a week or two, you should really think about getting a sempai. Not to excuse yourself from the work, but to pick up your students and your slack until you get back active.

my eyes @_@ allow me to add a little. if there werent people good enough to be sempai right now. whos to say the senpailess sensei is good enough to be a sensei in the first place. if you can look around and say people like serpent prof and oasis who are sensei level in there own sense arent good enough to be sempai. then were you really qualified in the first place? to answer tenzos question. if i were offered everything auto would i take it. yes 300x but only if it let me become a sensei then not chose a sempai. now ive taken away the only negative. i want to see someone create one

I dont think that sensei should be required to have a senpai, though I generally think they should take on a senpai if thhere are suitabl members interested in the position. Frankly, there have been unqualified members who have been sempai before, and that's unaccepatable. Generally, I'm of the opinion that there should be more sensei. It seems to me that both possitoons should be evaluated.solely on whether or not they are capable of teaching effectively. I sk not see why being a top tier battler is necessary to be a good sensei. Are the two often related? Sure. But they aren't necessarily.

I think Sensei should have the choice to choose whether or not to have a senpai but it should be consider how much they are on and how much they actually teach. A lot of sensei are busy with rl stuff. Senpai were originally meant to sub in when they were on some sort of hiatus. Senpai are generally people that have a ton of time and don't mind helping out newer role-players. Although, to teach, you should probably first know what you're doing. So a senpai also shouldn't be inexperienced.

Maybe a senpai app list and then waiting list? You can apply, be approved, next sensei that needs a senpai picks up the highest one off of the list or pick one. Just throwing out ideas.

I think we should take a look at active training threads for sensei, below a certain amount, they are highly recommended to pick up a senpai. (Of course, taking into account other factors, rl stuff and what-not)

If they're training a moderate amount, they have entire freedom of the choice.

I would hate the fact that I MUST choose a sempai. I've trained constantly as a sempai and sensei for over 14 months. After reaching sensei the last month, i've taken more students that I've ever had, and kept up with trainings. I'm not obligated nor do I feel obligated so take in a sempai as I don't know really who to pick. It's not just finding someone who knows the RP. A sempai is a reflection of the sensei he trains under. Attitude, behavior, training quality all plays a role in sempai selection. Most importantly, I feel that I need a sempai that is very similar to me in all aspects. If I don't find that, I simply don't.

You guys forget that being a sensei is basically volunteer work.

Everyone talks about how sempaiship shouldn't be required for senseiship. Well, obviously it should be. It tests the person's ability to teach. It tests if they are able to consistently train a number of students over an extended period of time. It tests if they are able to balance NB life with RL. You dont want inactive sensei? Well then, not having a sempaiship requirement does exactly that. A sensei gets swamped with training and then simply doesn't have to log on to NB. Problem solved, no stress as long as you're not active.

I like the idea of a sempai application thread, similar to the sensei one. Not one where someone is approved to be a sempai, but just a thread where sensei can go check to see those who have the drive to teach others.

I think a big thing is that you're wanting your teachers to rush your training just because you want to achieve whatever goals you have. Personally that's fucking idiotic. Roleplaying is not meant to be rushed, it's like a good story being told through the eyes of many people. What good is a story if it's rushed?

Instead of wondering why you haven't completed your basic 5 in two months, brush up on your general RP skill. Go from what you are to Kiritsugu/Reborn standards. :3

#1. Main point of the thread about trainings being slow. I guess it was time again for these kinds of threads to pop up.

#2. You are not going to force me to take on a senpai if i do not want one. Again it takes time to check up on them and I intend to fully check up on mine once in a while.

#3. There is a system already in place where our trainings do get checked. Hence some have been desensied for that reason. @ point to teno about him being removed as senpai. I highly doubt that wht you claim happened. I think it really was about virgil being highly inactive.

#4. Let me break it down to you how this all goes. You rper come to the base to have fun. Train, battle, partake in tournies, partake in NW affairs, mess around, make customs jutsus, make custom elements, make custom clans, apply for sage missions, make custom fighting styles, make custom element jutsu's, trade cj's, develop yourself into a better rper, battle train, power up, go for battle test bios, make bios in general and last but not least, use your time to do all of these. So soon as we volunteer to become sensei, to teach what we know, now we are obligated to only teach you???? and not partake in what we intended to come here first? I think not, sorry but I will as well do the following as YOU will and create the things I want to enjoy what this was meant for. To do what was mentioned, even customs and specially bio's it takes hours. You say we do these things instead of training. Training someone is not our life and we are not only to train you when we log in. Some days we want enjoyment as well, perhaps do the things we used to do and you say thats wrong? How can you really justify that being wrong? Am I sticking up for the ones that doesn't train for months? Not really but without knowing the real situation of a person in RL how do you know? This is also the internet, do you know these people? Do you know their situation? Are they obligated to tell you, hey i have this going on [insert detail here] so i can't train at the moment? I think not as that is personal information. Most of the time that information gets related to an RP Mod in charge of training and is dealt with accordingly.

#5. I personally don't know Zanji. I only have talked to him a few times. However I know a little bit about him. He has gone through a lot of crap. Really, cuz i know, i tried to help him in a way i could but due to the nature of the problem i couldn't. How about roll back to a few years when he was a mod? A RP Mod i believe..... so knowing basically most of the Cannon techniques were created a long ago, you are teling me now he is inept to teach these things? Let me simply remind you, Sensei's are supposed to be experts at teaching Cannon techniques. Is it so different now that when he was an rp mod that he can not longer teach now? Sure there are some new ones, however i would say ALL sensei's new, old, inactive, and acitve ones are able to use it correctly after some digging around. Heck, YOU as rper's if mastered the basic five and a new technique is added, YOU are able to use it and expected to use it without miss using the technique and understanding it. So how much is that different than someone who have passed sensei exams, became a mod, worked in this very system and expect him not to know how techniques worked? If that is the case, anytime new techniques get added, then everyone should go back to S-Ranks in training and not mastered. This is what you all are suggesting. RP Mods deemed him fit for sensei duty, I don't know what that entails, however it has been done. Let me tell you a story about Nero. So you all now want to say he doesn't deserve it. Perhaps there are good arguements, but mine stands as with Zanji. Sure I barely know the guy, but did you guys know he took the sensei test three times and passed them all? what is the point now to take it to find out if he is deemed fit for senseiship? I do see some of you going to his profile and asking to be taught his blitz impact or radio frequency soon as he turned orange. Some of them have posted on this thread and negatively at that. So it's only okay to ask him to give you his CE and have senseiship but not give him senseiship because he wasn't tested. Contradicting yourselves, and really a hypocrite. I also belive he has passed the Madara bio twice, if you guys were thinking about getting on him about that. Really my final point was. Our business in RL is ours and private to the ones that we don't want it to know. It's none of your business, stay out of it.

I've been a senpai for not too long now. And I love it. Its something I always wanted to do. Personally its fun. And second, because its beneficial to others. I don't think Sensei should be forced to pick a senpai. But it should be implied that they should. It'll give somebody who could potentially become a sensei experience in teaching. I doubt the sensei would pick somebody with no potential at all. It'll be nothing but beneficial for this RP game of ours.

I also agree. I've been a senpai for a little 6 months or so, and I adore it, Wesobi chose me so to speak, he held his own senpai apps, I didn't apply cause I didn't notice. But I vm'ed him asking. He said he would have chosen me, but didn't want to give me more work then I have, but I said I don't mind being a senpai. A bit off topic here, I said yes and here we are. Being a senpai is fun, I love teaching and training people, but you have to understand sensei/senpai's have other things to do, can't accept everyone who asks, but I do admire Kiri. Very much so.

Another thing rushing to get your elements mastered is silly you don't learn how to use each one like that, they'll be misused. Training is slow? So what. I train fast somewhat, cause I am always online cause I have a lot of time, doesn't mean every other sensei/senpai has time.
And as Ciberr said, sensei's shouldn't be forced.

Currently there is an issue with the poor quality of a lot of peoples training methods, the reason for the increase in the standards needed to pass the sensei test, is also the reason I personally dont want to see senseis forced to take a senpai, the person teaching MUST know how to use every technique properly, and in alot of cases they dont due to not being taught to.

Now, until the level of training is sorted out and rpers are taught to use everything properly, there are going to be issues like this, as its a downward spiral thats been brought on by yourselves. Students bug the sensei and senpai to hurry up with their training, so they rush it and dont take the time needed to properly teach them. This then results in a student that has all the techniques, but doesnt have a clue how to use them properly or defend from them, leading to people who cant pass a sensei test or arent fit to be senpai, yet in the old standards, people who havent had high enough levels of knowledge to teach have been handed teaching positions simply to ease the burden, which again has contributed to the many problems in the rp today, as most fights cant go more that three moves without someone making a mistake, or someone calling a technicality or running to a mod or sensei to check a fight because they dont know how things work.

Also the example you use. Bad example. U understand that if a game don't sell as much or have a popular demand , the game creator caters to the request.? So a suggestion....... Implement some suggestions regular NB citizens make. Instead of a higher up off the back. Cause last time I check.... Regular NB citizens rp more than rp mod. So they would know wat could help as much as rp mods. This is not just about training btw. Just regular suggestions in general . Instead of making the rp a dictator where everything is DO AS I SAY. Help make it a democracy. Cause I seen the rp days you was in and it damn sure wasn't this strict.
