A life lesson for teens, from a teen.

I'm aware that most teenagers want to be "famous" on Facebook and other social media. But the truth behind this whole facade is that this kind of fame will definitely lead to nothing more than built-up self-image and higher self-esteem. People, who have more confidence than others tend to think big of themselves and fall prey to the illusion cast over our society that makes you believe internet fame is equivalent to actual fame. Actors, such as Keanu Reeves, acquired fame, because of their acting, or lack there-of. But this lack in acting is usually ignored or not payed attention to, since most viewers look at what is directly in front of them and don't go too in-depth so we will ignore it. As I was saying, actors, musicians, singers, writers etc. gained their fame through work and dedication. I agree, most of them really have no talent (Justin Bieber, Will.I.Am, which happen to be talentless singers), but the ones who do have talent (J.K Rowling and Michael J. Fox, writer and actor) really deserve their status and fortune.
I'm not here just to say that teens haven't developed their brains yet, but to say that this is only something that will be temporary and quick to disappear, whereas the people who have actual fame have something, which they successfully made a living off of and now have stable lives and will probably be that way until the end.

Please tell me what you think below.

The lesson is that fame at this age isn't fame and that fame is only gained, by hard work. But at this point, fame is not real, just an illuson cast by society.

I hope you understand just how ridiculous that sounds.

Why did you make this thread? Was it really because you wanted people to shy away from fame? Or was it because you yourself wanted fame? You wanted us to acknowledge you, to tell you that you're right, and to admire you for being so "wise" at such a young age. You wanted our attention. And what is fame? Widespread attention.

Now this guy. He is also intellectually gifted and understands society and basically life in general, though he provides the direct approach, which although may not be favored, implies strong mind

That or he's a ****

No hate though bro =D

The lesson should be to practice humility. Many social media formats in general build up a sense of narcissism, and paradoxically a lower self-esteem (i.e., "this guy is doing that...why am I not doing that...I should be doing that"). There is nothing wrong with having drive to be famous; most famous people put a disproportionate amount of effort to get where they are. The goal is to understand the sum of the parts does not equal the whole. Do not lose yourself in self image and self importance. We exist to help others in some capacity. Find your skills, and do your best to improve society based on your talents.

You are a good person.

Thanks. I'm just old and I've learned a lot. Over time you realize we accomplish very little on our own, most of our success is due to other people. I simply try to pay it forward.

What would you do if you were alone when you realized that?

"I am sure many teens have a skewed and or gross interpretation of the internet and fame in general but, your generalizing here.
The internet is a great tool for others to connect and share, teens can use it and lead a life and still lead successful lives.
Your assuming people are idiots while assuming both are correlation of each other.
there not.

Often times it seems it's when we're alone, and we've exhausted our internal and external resources that we realize just how dependent we are on others. Even a hermit's identity is based solely on the existence of others.

Experience isn't based on time.

The longer you live the more experiences you will have.

I don't necessarily mean alone in that sense. It's more like realizing that you have been lying to yourself and everyone who you have ever known at a point in time where they are too far away (both literally and figuratively) for you to do anything about it. It's a feeling like no one has ever actually known you (even you yourself).
