3rd Hokage is the strongest hokage?

In his prime, Hiruzen could have went toe to toe, and probably won against any ninja in Naruto's history. In terms of vs Minato and his FTG, I dunno. Hiruzen had the intelligence of Kakashi, the chakra of Naruto, the fighting ability of Raikage and lets not forget his summon Emna.

Iruka stated him to be the strongest Hokage in the village's history(in his prime), and that's including Minato.

The 4th and 1st Hokage is the strongest. It would take alot to seal the Kyuubi inside someone and since the 1st Hokage constantly went into battle with Madara and had just about the same strength as him. I'm sure that Madara would beat the Third Hokage anyday. But that's just my opinion.....

And to those who think different abilities of same lvl makes equal shinobi are DUMBS......
When no one can,
1) catch Minato...
2) damage Hashirama and Tobirama physically (they are SENJUS )...
3) outsmart Hiruzen in ninjutsu usage...
etc.....

Man, there are factors that differs a character from another and make him powerful even he doesn't have more and strong jutsus than other, BTW not every jutsu should be added in a battle coz they sometimes might be useless........
Keeping this in mind....
1) Minato
2) Hashirama
3) Tobirama ties with Hiruzen
4) Tsunade...

When did I say Minato couldn't beat him? I just said I wasn't sure how the fight would go with Minato's FTG, cause we don't know if Hiruzen had anything that could counter it or not, or if he had a plan to avoid it, etc, lol.

The only thing that can counter s/t tech is another s/t tech. Which hiruzen didn't know. But who knows. We never seen hiruzen in his prime and minato died before his prime. I'm going with a tie. Since that's what kishi said.

Don't forget the 3rd used minato's sealing jutsus to beat the 1st hokage, 2nd hokage and orochimaru. And the fact that the next generation surpasses the previous one and you can't count tsunade surpassing Minato because she's in the previous generation and Naruto generation comes after minato's. Plus take in fact that Minato was still in his 20's and could have gotten alot stronger by his mid 30's, kakashi for example is in his 30's and gotten much stronger in shippuden then he was in the part 1 series.

Of course the ninja from the leaf village are gonna say their hokage is the best. We havent seen what other villages think of the 3rd. Also ppl say the 3rd would be the best in his prime but the 3rd tushikage is still able to do this good think about how good he would be in his prime. I agree that hiruzen is the most well rounded shinobi but not the strongest.

He isnt the stronest but the 3rd is very powerful though. Here is how it goes.

1. Minato- Insane speed, s/t, sealing, rasengans, summonings, FTG= the fastest thing given (to any ninja), and then you sum it up with incredible intelligence!

2. Hashirama- Beat Madara, great chakra, had incredible features and powers although we havent seen much.

3. Hiruzen- 1000s of jutsu! The most experienced ever, smart, strong, good chakra, just an amazing hokage.

4. Tobirama- Has incredible jutsu and forbidden jutstu, has genjutsu abilites as well, an amazing sword, great water ninjutsu!

5. Tsunade- Very strong, protective, and can heal from pretty much anything!

bruh you are hyping minato too much. he is not unbeatable. Also how does he outsmart him in ninjutsu when hiruzen mastered all ninjutsu in the leaf.

Well first off what does Iruka know about anything? Was he alive when Hiruzen was in his prime? Was he old enough to actually see Minato in battle?
Iruka is a seriously weak ninja who has no frame of reference.

And about that fight Oro literally only defended himself, he just sat back and watched his weaker versions of IWR. Had Oro actually fought in that battle then he could have killed Hiruzen very very easily. Go back and read that fight again, there are places where all he has to do is stab him or do anything really and he would have won. It was more a psychological thing he was trying to do to Hiruzen.

The chakra of Naruto? I find that highly unlikely. Fighting ability of Raikage? What does that mean? Raikage is strong but he isn't overly skillful, he just barges in and overpowers stuff.

You are definitely overrating Hiruzen. He doesn't have that much chakra and has no special abilities like the 1st, 2nd, and 4th hokages. He mastered all the jutsu that was able to be learned in Konoha. Not even the world but only Konoha. Oro knew way more jutsu (supposedly) then Hiruzen did. He couldn't learn KG, anything that required KG like chidori or gentle fist, the hidden abilities of clans, anything that required specific contracts, anything that required elements he didn't have. There is alot of stuff that he just wouldn't be able to do.



I don't want to sound like I am bashing him but he is overrated. He was a great all around shinobi but there is no way he is the best ever and he probably barely makes it into the top ten.

Sarutobi has gotten praised by 1 shinobi so far in the naruto manga. Minato and Hashirama have been praised by many including Jiraiya, the 4th Raikage, and Madara who have a lot more credibility than Iruka. We've never seen Hiruzen in his prime so it's impossible to say how strong he was back than.

Youve never seen the 1st fight period , you've never seen the 2nd fight, you've seen minato fight in that movie but not hokage minato. We've all seen Hiruzen fight whether he was in old age or not so you can't use that to say that Hashi or tobir were stronger by that logic anyways.. TRY AGAIN
