I'm amazed at how my fanfic writing skills actually evolved somewhat throughout the years of hardly writing anything.

About a decade ago I would write attempts at romance/shipfics with Mary Sueishly long, poetic descriptions of my favorite characters' looks, and the "plot" existing only so that more relationship drama could happen.

About five years ago I would attempt to write an actual story with action and all but teh dramaz and angst still found its way into them, as well as some poetic descriptions.

This year: Ran ends up in some place that becomes more and more terrifying as he goes further. Even Mastema can't help him much against unseen ancient horrors. Also, he is, um, blond? Probably?

The only thing all my fanfics have in common is that they have all ended on a depressing note, with characters either dying or ending up completely mentally broken U_U
