Considering that we've already had a tournament in NnT before, this will likely be at least somewhat different. And many Shounen manga series incorporated tournaments, it may have started with DBZ but it's pretty much Shounen trope now.

I'm really interested in that festival. I wonder if it's going to be a tournament, and if Ban and co. show up as well.

To be honest, the conflict between Akame and Kurome does seem to be a tad forced writing-wise. I guess we just have to accept that Kurome is really, really brainwashed by the Empire. That was emphasized every time she spoke about her puppets as if they were still alive. I liked the small detail...

No idea, probably not, since it didn't sell too well, from what I've heard. Besides, since the manga is ending (and the outline of the ending will probably be similar to the anime's, although with some changes), they'd have to come up with original content if they wanted to continue the story.

The anime didn't fully follow the manga; the manga is still going.
