Well, he was bound to die sooner or later anyway; I actually liked his last stand and death (that's how he became my fave in the first place). But as a puppet, he didn't actually do anything significant (him shielding Kurome was just obvious), so his revival/enslavement seems pointless in retrospect. I'm actually quite disappointed :|

I knew Akame would massacre the dolls. I'm also glad the chapter came out today.

This fight is cool but the concept is kinda silly. Their political alliances are basically the reason they're fighting. They both love each other, are happier together, but now have to kill each other because they really don't love each other that much. Just not worth it IMO and siblings that actually liked each other that much would set those differences aside, or at least wait until the war plays out.

The manga really brings out more of how silly what they're doing is. The anime was just Akame murdering Kurome lol


It's kind of bad concept, but I enjoy it still. As for predictions, Kurome is going to pop more special cookies and wave is gonna show up as Akame is killing Kurome or like right before. I also don't think ran was saving Kurome as much as wanting to die.

To be honest, the conflict between Akame and Kurome does seem to be a tad forced writing-wise. I guess we just have to accept that Kurome is really, really brainwashed by the Empire. That was emphasized every time she spoke about her puppets as if they were still alive.

I liked the small detail about Doya's arms - I've been wondering how she got them back after Enshin cut them off. Also, Ran defending Kurome was something he died doing, it was supposed to be his "strongest desire" which he retained as a puppet. I think it applies to all kids, in his case - he wishes to protect them after that one time he couldn't. But did he blame himself for that accident, you may ask?

So... Ran died twice. Really disappointing since I was hyped for his appearance and since he measured to Akame well back in their encounter, I was really hoping to see him deal some damage. (The page when he gets turned into a doll was also guilty due to the badass panel.)

Instead we got him killed off like a fodder. *sigh* This manga has done way too many things wrong.

Yeah, this was a decent manga up to Wild Hunt. From there the mangaka just went nuts. Like he's changing things last minute.
