Madara Sama didn't need the eyes, they were taken to give elevation to Izuna. A sort of Madara will protect the clan with his brothers eyes so Izuna can live on. Unlike Sausage Madara Sama never went blind and neither was he shown to be suffering from any adverse affects of MS useage.
