Yeah, he helped and that's it. Mizukage still had his clone rampaging and was ultimately stopped by gaara.

I belive he could have taken them down in their time too. Afterall, he defeated the edo form and mizukage didn't reveal the way to defeat him too. So did the kazekage.

No, i don't believe that. One on one, gaara wouldn't even have to worry about his fellow shinobis. He could have handled mizukage well.

Actually, these two haven't done much or atleast not shown to do much. Although 4th kazekage fought against shukaku, he went down quite easily against gaara.
Mei hasn't had enough chances to prove her worth. She could have finished a weakened sasuke, but was stopped by zetsu's spores.

The people saying that he can defeat the uchiha bros are certainly overrating him. Fully agree with that.
But I have seen enough threads where he is ranked with mei as the weakest.

The Third and Fourth Kazekages possess superior tools, they can merge their sand into his defense to overcome it without attacking him and they control their elements via magnetism, making them overall more versatile. The Fourth has a edo wasn't in control of his body and the terrain favoured Gaara, which allowed him to be sealed from beneath.
I won't go into the Fourth Raikage, though he's Gaara's superior in my opinion.
The 2nd Mizukage barely showcased his arsenal, leaked all of his secrets, wasn't in control of his body and is seemingly smart enough to have been able to take out Mu. He's one of the most underrated characters along with Hanzo and Tobirama.
Yagura is a perfect Jin and possess Water Release on a large scale. While sand isn't weak to water, it absorbs it making it much heavier and far more chakra taxing to wield. A tailed beast using suiton would render Gaara's entire arsenal useless.

Tsunade is not the weakest or even close.. also..Raikage the weakest?mei is the weakest followed by tsunade. Every character can be said to be overrated or underrated, i think gaara is the 3rd strongest or tied w/ 4th raikage for 2nd position
1. due to that Gaara's sand is faster than A as noted when A was about to attack sasuke with a drop kick (also that no one even saw the sand comming until it literally stopped the attack.) therefor giving Gaara considerable damage dealing and sealing opportunity potential.
2. Raikage with his body flicker and Raiton armor and the third fastest shinobi in the series.
3 Mei's ability to create an area around her of acid mist and from what we've seen, the best and most advanced display of water techs in the series, (Taking into consideration she ALSO can create water jutsu from nothing just as Tobirama (ex: they were fighting in a dessert...) so calling her weak by all means is a load of shit and weakest is also ridiculous.
4. Tsunade having the highest strength and Byakugou tech make her practically invincible while it lasts which seems to be for quite a while.
5. Oonoki = the strongest one. more experience, more abilities and probably the most powerful and fastest jutsu we have seen in the series.

Yes Gaara is underrated but just like all the Kage at some point. people have the balls to call them weak because together they couldn't defeat Madara (which only occured due to plot-no-jutsu), but Madara is immortal, has endless chakra, Mokuton, Rinnegan AND EMS. The Kage are strong and in my mind and my oppinion will be the best team this series had had, has the best teamwork despite never fighting together and lasted as long as they did against the most OP attacks in this series.
Honestly All the Kage are equal. balance of powers and all that. (although Oonoki still takes the cake imo)

He defeated the 4th quite easily, and how come the 4thwasn't using its full potential when others were.
He could have defeated the third kazekage(although no one can be sure) as the new generation has been shown to be better than the old in some cases. But yeah, no ceratinity here.
As for mizukages, the second mizukage didn't reveal all his secrets. He refused. And despite the advantage of element he had, he was defeated by gaara in tact and strategy.
As for 4th mizukage, gaara has shown to use other's advantages to his own, as i mentioned earlier. So, maybe a close call.
