Why would there be a need to tell Danzo anything? It was a bargain, Tobi: I'll attack Konoha with the Kyuubi, you(Danzo) take advantage in the aftermath if I am successful in killing both Kage, or, worst case scenario, they survive, in which case say it was the Uchiha and create distrust giving them a reason to oppose(they are sensitive and honor bound, it'll be easy), so slaughter them all and we'll split their Sharingan.
Then, for me, go to a politically unstable village(Amegakure) and offer Konoha's alliance, they have an alliance with Akatsuki and force them to betray it(they can't refuse such a good offer). Get the leader Yahiko killed as first order of business!
Sounds about right to me.
If you'd read it instead of looking at it, you'd know I am right. Or, prove to me that I am wrong, otherwise stay ignorant and move on.

What Danzo wanted to protect^ as you can concur from that image, was his own ideal!!
He was against the teachings of Senju Hashirama! The man who started the hidden leaf and protected it with his principles, passing them on to those who loved the village and believed in that principle....The Will of Fire!
All his efforts went towards usurping the Hokage seat, so he could enforce his own ideals and discard the teachings of the man who founded Konoha.
And he couldn't even do it himself! You see, Danzo was a coward! Yes, a useless, spineless coward who used other people to achieve his motives...

The only reason he even stepped out of his underground sewer, was to trick Mifune into choosing him as the supreme leader of the alliance, but the other Kages wouldn't have that, cuz they knew what kind of untrustworthy, garbage he was! They even suspected him of plotting the murder of noble Hiruzen. Which was also probably true...
Last thing you would say: oh oh but he saved Naruto by killing the frog when Pain came, that was a decision befitting a shinobi....

His opinon has a basis in facts from the manga. You can theoretically refure his opinions if you show how his facts don't support his opinion. In order to support your own opinion you either must bring your own facts or show how his facts don't support his opinion. Otherwise he wins the debate.

If you had read the thread, you would know I covered that. He was forced into that fight, and he was seconds away from death with no hope to survive when he pulled out the seal, signalling his own failure and self glorifying himself one more time.

he wanted the leaf village to be a safe place ruled under his power so that no one would even think of attacking it
he wanted to make konoha to his liking and save it on his own terms ....kill anyone who might cause a pblm for konoha in the future right now so that the leaf village will be a safe place
its "kill a few save a million" kinda thing

Actually, as I have proved, he was just using that^ as an excuse to manipulate countless patriotic ninja who would do anything for the village, he sent them out to their death for his own personal gain.
Konoha was already the safest and strongest village in the Narutoverse, why did he want to change that?
He was jealous of Hiruzen and couldn't stand living in his shadow, Orochimaru's attack that shook Konoha's foundations was suspected of being orchestrated by Danzo, as it was clear who would gain from it, and who planted his Senju cells.

Those past memories are what I used in the thread, did you not read it? They prove that he was a coward.
In the anime and the manga, Danzo was running back to the village when Obito stopped him, he wanted to make Sasuke kill Danzo to enhance his hatred.
When Danzo activated the seal, his death was already imminent, it wasn't something noble, he was going to die any way, that seal was something he setup as a last form of attack in the event of his death. As he said one thing and thought another in that moment, his true intentions are revealed.
Yes i second ur idea of him being a coward and selfish. That is beyond any contesting. But what im saying, along with that cowardice act, hidden his patriotism trying to emulate what hiruzen done, and that my friend is something u gotta give him credit for. TRYING. Thats all im saying.
