How does Shino stop someone attacking him directly if he doesn't have bugs set up? Thats an Aburame's weakness. If the person knows he is going for a bug set up they will bypass everything else then attack the bug user directly. Apart from insect clone he doesn't have anything to counter a direct attack. Even then insect clone is useless against Kiba, Hinata and Neji.

And don't say that shino would just make a cloud of bugs for the user to hit because he has not once done anything like that. Its been insect clone or a insect sphere that was pre-prepped. Thats the only way we have seen Shino fight.

I'm not trying to say shino is crap, he is incredibly underdeveloped, but based on current feats he isn't a very competent shinobi. Certainly not one that warrants top 3.

Neji is a MASTER of gentle fist taijutsu which is Shino's weakness for 1. If the bugs try to surround him he has rotaion. If the bugs are on his skin he can release chakra from his body.

This is what ive said from the very start but this kids so butt hurt that no one else feels the way he does that theres 3 pages of him saying he will surround them! Ffs.

Neji is nothing in front of Shino. Neji is just a short range taijutsu type while Shino is long range type. He can fight with his bugs at a distance. The only possible moves Neji can do at this situation is use his charkra barrier(Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven), eventually he'll run out, I also believe if these bugs feed on chakra they should feed on/eat through the barrier. Even if Negi can see these bugs with byakugan, he can't do anything.

So all the close range types like Sakura, Hinata and to certain extend Rock Lee prove ineffective on same grounds
Naruto(Bulk amount of overwhelming chakra in biju mode and Naruto's persisting nature )
Chouji(Sheer amount of size and power)

Kiba(because of ultra fast attacks like gatsugsa)

Neji wins either by blitzing
evading everything Shino's got for a short while before he closes the distance
or using Hakke Kushou (or variations) to eliminate Shino.

Any bug getting close enough would be easily expelled through use of the Full-Body Blow.

There are no ways for Shino to surprise him, and even if he did land his bugs they would be evaded without even needin the full Kaiten.

I'm in no way shape or form disagreeing with you since the middle rankings are a super grey area, but how does Shino beat Kiba given that -

• Fang-over-fang is taijutsu based and not ninjutsu
• Kiba can tell where all the bugs are as well as which is the original shino with his sense of smell
• Fang-over fang includes akamaru as well so he has to block two attacks
• The rotation would likely kill the bugs on contact
• In dire situations Kiba can go double headed wold which doesn't even have to hit to slice things to pieces

Sure they both know each others battle strategies, but Shino doesn't have much to counter direct taijutsu attacks, except insect clone which is a non-issue anyway. Anyway it is highly debatable who is actually better....

why would shino fight close range? shino will keep his distance and the bugs will eat the rotation chakra, the effect means nothing, you cant assume rotation cant be absorbed
