Call me when Choji can hit a punch without the help of Shikamaru and Ino, why do you think they are paired? The strongest punch, the ability to restrain someones movement etc.. Alone Choji can't just hit Shino. He got insect clones, and his insects can drain chakra from Choji. He can also form a shield of them. Now we can't know if he has enough insects to cover all of Chojis enlarged body, since we've never seen it, but on the contrary neither have we seen him, not being able to.

Chouji had no problem punching the gedo mazo or taking out hiashi and kakazu in butterfly mode......

This i agree with. Shino's advantage comes from the opponent not knowing he uses bugs. But if the opponent knows then the strategy isn't as affective. One example is his fight with Kankuro which would have ended in Shino dying but kankuro surviving had people not intervened. People with strong attacks can easily overwhelm him if they know they need to avoid his bugs - this is even easier if you have a byakugan or are Kiba since they can sense where the bugs and the original are at all times.

I can admit to Choji getting stronger but compared to alot of K-11 he's still fodder.

Tenten's Kunai will pierce Shino before the bugs reach her

Same with Shikamaru's Shadow

Sakura is a medical nin, who's first priority is evasion. She won't get caught by the bugs.
