Well, actually I think most of them have practiced some sort of experiment in their bodies as they long to become overpowered or eternal, so it's just logical. Orochimaru first became a snake, then tried to be eternal, and I guess he got that from being in Akatsuki, they all seem to be searching for such things.

itachi never tried to experiment anything, his powers are natural to him.

It's a confirmed spoiler so it's real. And if Naruto fight Nagato there most likley will be no physical fighting. Nagato is so skinny and crippled he could't fight. The only way I see it working is Nagato shoots lasers, jutsus, or mind blast things. Naruto's gonna need some new jutsu.... -____-

About why Pain wants to give pain in order to achieve peace he has already explained it: he believes you do not want peace if you don't know or not care about wars and pain. Thus his crazy idea is to make wars for everyone to realize what they are like, and long for peace.
But now, that quote about Naruto and Pain wanting the same goals, though through different means... I hope Kishi is not clearing the way to show that Pain becomes good as Naruto can make him change. (You know, Naruto makes people change).
I've already had enought with Itachi becoming good and Sasuke probably bad.

dont underestimate nagato just because he "looks" weak (very thin, etc). He still have those evil rinnegan eyes. So, i think when Naruto has a chance to fight him directly..it's also not as easy as it looks. Just like Sakura when she's fighting sasori. Sasori in real puppet body is more dangerous than his puppets....

Not necessarily, I've reviewed the Sakura/Chiyo Baa-Sama vs. Sasori fight just now and Sasori's original body, while it may be the most powerful, has the most obvious weak-point..his only human remnant to provide him with chakra...basically, his heart.
From what we know of Kakuzu, Sasori, Itachi, Oro, Nagato and Madara(a shell of his former self) they all are either sick, old or just trying to extend their lives. We also know that the more power a jutsu has the more the damage it does to the user's body. Like when Naruto use the fox it shortens his life also.
So, I think the reason behind the Akatski goal in capturing the tailed-beasts is to achieved long life or immortality. We know that the tailed-beast heals the host. Like Wolverine's healing power which is said to allow him a long life or maybe even immortality.

Also, to clear somethings up, The Bijuu don't need to be sealed in any particular order! Naruto is not safe from extraction at this point if he is captured by Pein..
Proof:
Before they sealed Gaara (Ichibi=1 Tail) they had already sealed Two previous Bijuu.

That may be Nagato's desire, but not Madara's...his is most likely to become the Jinchuuriki to all of the Tailed Beasts, making him the most powerful being in the known Naruto world. With all of the Bijuu sealed inside his body, he will probably be more powerful than anyone has ever been...he's one crazy motha4(_)(|#@

agree...everybody has weak point..what im trying to say is that u can never judge a book by its cover...or you can never judge a handphone by its casing
although sasori has weakest part...but he's still more dangerous compared to his puppets...
