goood theory i liked that but i dont know about obito losing his memory when he was crushed because he asked madara did i die implying he remembers facing death under the rocks

i'm pretty sure Nagato was born with the Rinnegan a more plausible explanation as to why he was working with them was they manipulated him with their fake ideas of pace and still recovering from Yahiko's death he agreed to help them

Gotta say I like most of this theory. Madara is probably manipulating Obito and was using Nagato. He seemed very unconcerned with Obito's well-being and just asked for an information update. Obito seemed deferential to Madara, willingly surrendering the weapon and telling him the exact truth of what had happened with Nagato and the Project's current status. Suggests a Vader-Palpatine connection is probably going on here.
