Actually, he admitted he considered Naruto as his best friend and acknowledged him as his rival - something Naruto was very happy about - and saved him when Haku launched his attack.

If Orochimaru hadn't put that Curse mark on him, I think he would have stayed in Konoha. The Curse mark made him concentrate again on his revenge on Itachi (a feeling that actually had been pushed back when he was fighting with Team Seven) and made sure that he wanted to gain more power.

I don't even consider Sasuke as bad - for me, he's in a grey area, a character who can go either way, depending on what he is been told or what he discovers

I actually don't want him to come around, him killing Sakura was damn near the best thing to ever happen to this series, but there's no denying that those pages are obviously foreshadowing his change of heart.

He saved naruto from haku and wanted to protect sakura from gaara. Plus he called naruto his best friend. He wanted to kill his traitor brother. None of these things make him bad but the oppisite

But then the curse mark got placed on him and it drew on his lingering feelings of hate and his want for revenge. It gave him a taste of what 'real' power could feel like and for an Uchiha this is like giving ramen to Naruto: they can't resist the call of power.
But without that curse mark, I believe he would have stayed in Konoha, but he would probably demand more severe training of Kakashi. Maybe even insist on training with Naruto with Jiraiya as tutor

True but they both had to survive that fight . And i said in thread he developed feelings for them. Sasuke could have took haku if he didnt have to defend naruto at that point in the fight . His sharingan allowed him to track haku.

Is everything he says here meaningless? He definitely was a good guy in part one, he even mentions, (can't find the chapter) that he thought about going down the same path as team 7. He was a good guy and will end up being a good guy. Kishi has quite obviously left the door open for his redemption.

Sasuke was good before Kage summit arc.. i would never forget his speech to Naruto in the Gaara fight he said " i lost everything once.. i never want to see that a gain my trusted comrades falling right infront of me" "Naruto take Sakura and get as far away as possible from this gauy...if i dont make back alive.. it just means this is as far as i should go" that was in the Gaara fight in the Haku fight he was willing to give his life for Naruto and Same thing for Team Taka againts Killer Bee

He was content until naruto got stronger than him training with jiraiya . Sasuke didnt need the curse mark for hatred , he already had that .

If he was good before the kage summit arc , he would not have left the leaf for power. He did fight along taka side . But left jugo and suigetsu at the summit. And almost killed karin to get danzo . like i said in thread he never cared for team 7 or taka enough to let them get in the way of his goals!!!
