There is no way that Obito & Rin could have taken part in the Chunin exams before becoming Genin. Obito & Rin are 4 years older then Kakashi.

Obito died when he was 13. The databook confirms this, it was never actually stated how old Kakashi was. Since Kakashi was four years younger that makes him 9.

The Kakashi Gaiden takes place 5 years before the fox attack, because Kakashi was 26 at the start of the series, so he was 14 when Naruto was born. That would make Obito 18.

Kakashi graduated from the academy when he was 5 & Became a Chunin when he was 6.

Obito graduated from the academy when he was 9 & became a Chunin when he was 11.

If Kakashi (5) & Obito (9) joined Team Minato after their graduation, then Obito is four years older then Kakashi. Obito "died" when he was 13 That would make their ages during the fox attack:

Kakashi 13 years old
Obito 18 years old

Look at Manga 599 They were the same age, its that Kakashi past His chuning exam the first time Obito failed against Gui, so that by the time Obito became a Chuning, Kakashi past and became a joning.

Databooks never said how old Kakashi was when he became a Jounin & neither has the manga. The only thing that is confirmed is that Obito "died" when he was 13. Databooks say that Kakashi became a Chunin when he was 6 & that Obito didn't graduate from the academy until he was 9. There is no way that Obito could have taken part in the Chunin exams before becoming a Genin./thread

This states that at age 13 Kakashi he was chosen to lead Obito and Rin. This was just after he became Jonin. Obito would be 16 at this time.
